The reset depends on your Dyson purifier model and filter type. On the TP07 with separate HEPA and carbon filters, hold Night mode on the remote to reset the HEPA indicator and Oscillation to reset the carbon indicator; wait for the display’s five-second countdown to finish. Other models may use a different remote button or the MyDyson app, so identify your model before following a reset sequence.
Before you reset the filter indicator
Check the model number on your machine and confirm whether it uses separate HEPA and carbon filters or one combined replacement filter. Dyson documents different reset controls for different models; there is no single sequence for every Dyson fan. Use the support instructions that match your exact model and filter arrangement.
For a TP07 filter change, Dyson instructs owners to switch the purifier off and unplug it before removing the filters. Fit the replacement filters and secure the covers before plugging the machine back in and switching it on. See the Dyson TP07 user manual.

- To reset HEPA filter life, press and hold Night mode on the remote.
- To reset carbon filter life, press and hold Oscillation on the remote.
- For each reset, keep holding until the display’s five-count countdown finishes.

Other Dyson models: use the model-specific reset
Do not apply the TP07 button sequence to a different purifier just because it also has a filter-life warning. Dyson’s documented instructions vary by machine:

- Some combined-filter models: Dyson’s support instructions use a Night mode hold and a five-second countdown. Check the applicable Dyson support page for HEPA+Carbon filter reset instructions.
- Other replacement-filter models: Dyson documents holding the remote’s Standby ON/OFF button for six seconds. The exact compatible model is identified in Dyson’s replacement filter unit instructions.
- Some app-compatible models: the reset is available in the MyDyson app at Settings > Filter life > Reset. Menu availability and labels may depend on the model and app version; consult Dyson’s replacement filter and purifier troubleshooting page.
If the filter warning remains
First check that the replacement filter is fully seated and that the covers are fitted securely. Then confirm that the replacement is compatible with your exact machine and that you reset the correct filter-life indicator, if your model tracks more than one. If the warning still appears, use Dyson support for the specific model. Dyson’s instructions do not establish one fallback reset sequence that applies to every purifier.
