The most productive way to attend the 2027 International Builders’ Show (IBS) is to plan backward from two or three outcomes—not from a list of every booth. Choose the business decisions you need to make, reserve education that supports them, group exhibitors by hall, and protect realistic travel time between sessions and appointments. IBS 2027 is scheduled for February 2–4, 2027, at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), 3150 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, Nevada 89109. Exhibits are currently scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Confirm every detail on the official FAQ and live schedule before you travel.
Start with the decisions you need to make
A large show becomes useful when each hour is tied to a decision, comparison, or conversation. Before opening the exhibitor directory, write down no more than three outcomes for this trip.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Define two or three measurable outcomes
- Product outcome: Compare a defined category—such as exterior materials, jobsite equipment, interior finishes, or outdoor-living systems—and leave with specifications, lead times, installation requirements, and a shortlist for follow-up.
- Knowledge outcome: Learn a business, estimating, production, safety, design, or technology process that you can evaluate back at your company.
- Relationship outcome: Meet a limited number of suppliers, manufacturers, peers, or service providers for conversations that require more than a quick booth visit.
Write the evidence you need for each outcome. For a product, that might be samples, warranty terms, compatibility information, or a demonstration. For education, it might be a process checklist or a set of questions to discuss with your team. This prevents a busy hall from replacing useful work with unplanned collecting.
Turn outcomes into a priority list
Rank each target as must do, should do, or if time allows. Put a maximum number beside each category. For example, a builder might choose four must-see product companies, two education sessions per day, and one protected supplier meeting. The list becomes your filter when a session runs long or a promising demonstration appears.

Know the event’s scale, hours, and layout
NAHB/IBS describes IBS as “the largest annual light construction show in the world.” Its current About page projects more than 78,000 industry professionals, attendees from more than 100 countries, over 1,700 companies and brands, and more than 120 education sessions for the 2027 event. These are organizer projections published for a future show, not independently verified attendance results; use them to anticipate crowds rather than as measured outcomes. See About IBS.
The official FAQ currently places exhibits in four areas:
- Central Hall
- West Hall Level 1
- South Hall Level 2
- Outdoor Exhibits in the Silver Lot
Exhibit hours are listed as 9 a.m.–5 p.m. on February 2, 3, and 4. Registration, IBS Centrals, education, exhibits, outdoor exhibits, and selected ticketed or member-only events appear on the official schedule. Education requires an Expo+Education Pass; separately ticketed events require an additional purchase.
Choose the right access before reserving your day
Do not build an education-heavy itinerary and then discover that your pass only covers the show floor. Compare the current registration category, inclusions, price, deadlines, and cancellation terms on the live Registration Fees & Deadlines page. Fees and terms can change, and they can differ by attendee category.
| Access option | What the published information says | What to verify before purchase |
|---|---|---|
| Expo+Education Pass | Three-day access to more than 120 education sessions, three-day entry to IBS and KBIS exhibit floors, and access to IBS Centrals, according to the registration information. | Current fee, registration deadline, category eligibility, cancellation/refund terms, session locations, and whether any event requires a separate ticket. Check fees and education details. |
| Expo Pass | The international-attendee information describes three-day exhibit-floor and IBS Centrals access. | Whether your category qualifies, current price and deadline, cancellation/refund terms, and which education or special events are excluded. Confirm on International Attendees and the live registration page. |
| Pre-show NAHB one-day courses | Separate registration is required; they are not automatically included merely because you attend IBS. | Course date, location, fee, eligibility, and cancellation terms on the current education and registration pages. |
The education page also advertises post-show on-demand recordings for eligible registrants. Treat eligibility as a condition to verify at registration, not as an automatic benefit.

Build a session-first agenda
Sessions are the least flexible part of your day, so reserve them before placing booth appointments. The current program includes Game Changer keynotes, Spotlight Sessions, 60-minute Building Knowledge Sessions in nine tracks, workshops, quick-hit talks, and discussions. Review the education listing and then confirm the exact time and room in the live schedule.
Use a five-step session filter
- Search by outcome. Start with the problem you want to solve, not a speaker name. Save sessions that directly support one of your two or three outcomes.
- Compare format and depth. A 60-minute Building Knowledge Session may suit a process you need to understand in detail; a quick-hit talk may be better for orientation; a workshop may justify more protected time if it produces a practical exercise.
- Check access. Confirm that your pass includes the session and note any member-only or separately ticketed requirement.
- Record day, time, and location. Put the room and hall in your calendar, not just the session title.
- Reserve only the sessions you can physically reach. Leave a buffer for questions, restroom breaks, security checks, and the walk to another hall.
Allow for cross-hall movement
The LVCC halls and the Silver Lot are not interchangeable rooms. Do not schedule a session ending at one end of the campus immediately before an appointment in another hall. A practical rule is to leave one full calendar block between distant commitments; use the interval for movement, a short note, and a late start at the next stop. If two priorities collide, keep the session that is difficult to replace and move the flexible booth visit.

Once sessions are placed, request appointments or demo times with your must-see exhibitors. Put the highest-value conversation in a time window you can protect, then add discovery periods around it. A completely filled calendar leaves no room for a product that solves an unexpected problem, a delayed conversation, or a useful peer introduction.
Example of a workable day
| Time block | Purpose | Planning principle |
|---|---|---|
| Before 9 a.m. | Registration, coffee, route review, and a quick check for schedule changes | Arrive early enough to reach the first fixed commitment without rushing. |
| Morning | One priority education session | Capture the one action or question you need to bring home. |
| Late morning | Nearby must-see exhibitors | Keep the first product route within the same hall when possible. |
| Midday | Meal, notes, and route reset | Do not use every minute for walking; consolidate follow-up tasks. |
| Afternoon | Second session or protected demo, then flexible discovery | Keep the final block movable if a conversation runs over. |
| After 5 p.m. | Photograph notes, update follow-up list, and prepare the next day | Separate qualified leads from items that only looked interesting. |
Map product interests to the current halls
The 2027 floor-plan page gives broad product concentrations. Use them to create your first route, then verify each company’s booth in the current exhibitor search. Hall assignments and aisle space can change without notice.
| Area | Published product concentration | Featured zone or planning use |
|---|---|---|
| Central Hall | Building Materials | Includes the New Product Zone; use it for a concentrated materials comparison before moving elsewhere. |
| West Hall | Interior Finishings & Home Living; Business Management & Professional Services (formerly nextBUILD) | Includes the Craft Techniques Zone; group interior, business-process, and professional-service conversations here. |
| South Hall | Construction Tools, Systems, Equipment & Safety; Outdoor Living, Leisure & Modular Structures; Global Products; Building Materials | Includes the Construction Performance Zone and Jobsite Safety Zone; allow extra time if your targets span equipment and outdoor products. |
| Outdoor Exhibits, Silver Lot | Outdoor demonstrations and products | Includes the Start-Up Zone, ProBuilder Show Village, and IBS Oasis; plan for a longer visit rather than treating it as a quick indoor stop. |
Build a hall-based target sheet
Create one row per target with the company name, product category, hall, booth number, contact, reason for visiting, questions, and desired next step. Sort the sheet by hall and then by booth location. Mark whether the stop is an appointment, a live demonstration, or a walk-up visit. This turns the floor plan into a route instead of a directory.

Verify every booth before you leave
The FAQ says the 2027 exhibitor listing is updated periodically, and the organizer reserves the right to alter the floor plan. Recheck booth numbers and company status shortly before departure and again each morning at the show. If a target disappears or moves, use the category and hall as your backup route rather than spending half a day searching for an old location. See the FAQs and floor plans.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteUse the app and show guide without over relying on them
Mobile app: treat 2027 features as unconfirmed
The official IBS mobile-app page currently documents the 2026 app and says readers should check back for 2027 information. The 2026 description lists My Agenda, attendee checklists, highlights, an exhibitor directory and segments, the schedule, show specials, event schedules, education sessions, Centrals, safety and security information, and an interactive map. Those functions are useful planning ideas, but do not promise that every one will be present in the 2027 app until IBS updates the page.
When the 2027 version is published, use it to save sessions, confirm exhibitor details, and navigate. Keep an offline copy of your must-do list and room information in case cellular service, battery life, or app availability becomes a problem. A compact smartphone power bank is a sensible optional packing item for long days of digital navigation; no particular capacity or model is established here.
Printed official guide
The Official 2027 IBS Show Guide page says the guide contains exhibit-hall floor plans, alphabetical exhibitor and product listings, and general show information. It gives a minimum estimated circulation of 45,000. That figure is a publisher estimate of guide circulation, not show attendance. The page does not establish whether every attendee receives a print copy, how it is distributed, or whether purchase is required, so confirm those arrangements rather than assuming one will be waiting for you.
Plan international travel and arrival details
The International Attendees page covers registration categories, delegation information, international membership, invitation letters, visa information, and travel and orientation resources. Visa eligibility and documentation depend on your citizenship, residence, and circumstances; follow the organizer’s visa-information route and the instructions of the relevant authorities instead of assuming that an invitation letter guarantees entry.

Choose lodging with transport in mind
The current schedule lists hotel shuttle service from official show hotels that are not within walking distance of the LVCC. Check the live hotel and transportation information when booking. Do not assume that every hotel is served, that service runs at the same frequency each day, or that the published arrangement will remain unchanged. Build a backup plan for reaching the convention center if a shuttle is full or delayed.
Leave time for registration and orientation
- Carry the identification and registration information required for your attendee category.
- Allow time on the first morning for badge pickup or troubleshooting before your first session.
- Save the LVCC address—3150 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, Nevada 89109—in your travel notes.
- Confirm local time, airport transfer, hotel shuttle instructions, and any delegation or invitation-letter appointments.
- Keep copies of essential travel documents separately from your phone.
Operate the show day by day
Each morning
- Open the live schedule and check for room, time, or cancellation changes.
- Check the exhibitor search and floor plan for changes to that day’s target booths.
- Choose one primary route and one fallback route by hall.
- Mark the one session and one conversation that cannot be missed.
- Charge your phone and carry your offline notes.
At each booth
Ask the same core questions so that comparisons remain useful: What problem does the product solve? Which project types and climates suit it? What installation, training, tooling, or code requirements apply? What are the current lead times and support arrangements? Which specification or sample should be sent after the show? Record the answer immediately and label any photograph with the booth and product name.
After each session
Write one sentence on what changed in your understanding, one action for your company, and one follow-up question. If a session produces no action, do not let the notes consume the rest of the day. Education is valuable only when it changes a decision, a process, or a question you ask a supplier.
Handle common planning failures
A session and appointment overlap
Keep the commitment with the higher replacement cost. Ask the exhibitor for another time or a written follow-up, and do not sprint across the campus and arrive late to both.
A booth is missing or has moved
Confirm the listing in the current exhibitor search, ask information staff, and switch to the same product category in that hall. Record the change so your team does not repeat the search.

The app is unavailable or the battery is low
Use your saved agenda, printed or offline floor-plan notes, and the official guide if available. Treat the app as a convenience layer, not the only copy of your itinerary.
You cannot reach an outdoor demonstration
Move the outdoor area to a dedicated block rather than trying to fit it between indoor sessions. If weather, shuttle timing, or distance makes the visit impractical, protect the product conversation that has the clearest business value and request follow-up material.
Your pass does not include a desired activity
Check whether the activity is education, member-only, or separately ticketed. Review the live registration and schedule pages before paying for an add-on; do not assume an Expo Pass can be upgraded at the door on the same terms.
