Fix error 9 on the Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot 2400WD Series
The 2400WD Series manual associates error 9 with the CLEAN (RED) and DOCK (RED) lights flashing. Its prescribed first step is to reinstall the dust bin.
- Remove the robot’s dust bin.
- Slide the bin back into the robot, pressing it in until it clicks into place.
- Check whether the flashing error indication clears.
The manual does not prescribe replacing the bin as the first step. Do not buy a replacement unless inspection shows the bin is damaged or missing.
Check your robot’s model before applying the fix
Error-code meanings can depend on the model. The instructions above are documented for the Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot 2400WD Series, not every Shark robot. If your model differs, find its model-specific guide and use that guide’s error chart rather than assuming error 9 has the same meaning. Shark’s 2400WD Series manual identifies error 9 by its light pattern and bin-reinstallation remedy.

If error 9 remains or your model is different
If the code remains after reinstalling the bin, or the robot is not a 2400WD Series model, consult the troubleshooting guide for your exact robot. The 2400WD Series manual directs users to Shark Customer Service for issues not addressed in the guide.
