They work through reflection, not a screen or moving parts: Luycho prints a deliberately distorted picture on a saucer, and the curved reflective cup turns that pattern into a recognizable image when set on top. Move or rotate the cup, and the reflected picture changes.
How the mirror cup makes the picture appear
The cup and saucer are designed as a pair. The saucer carries artwork altered to account for the cup’s shape; the cup’s reflective surface then reflects that artwork so it appears more like an ordinary, recognizable picture. Luycho describes the principle as transforming a normal picture according to the cup’s curvature, printing the result on the saucer, and reflecting it with the rounded mirror cup.
This is an anamorphic reflection: an image is distorted in advance so it looks right from a particular viewing arrangement. The cup is not playing a digital animation. The apparent movement comes from the changing reflection as the cup is repositioned or turned.
What the video shows
A Scroll report published October 5, 2019, described Luycho’s Instagram video showing designs that included pandas and butterflies. In one example, a bird appeared to flap its wings as the cup moved. Luycho’s catalogue identifies the collection as an endangered-animal series; those examples do not establish every design the company has made. Read Scroll’s 2019 report.

Where to find Luycho cups and what to check
Luycho’s own store has listed cups and saucers, but its visible stock changes: some cup products were marked sold out when the store was reviewed, while named saucers and prices appeared in the saucer category. A listing is not confirmation that an item is currently available or ships to your location. Check the Luycho store for current listings and availability.
Third-party listings can describe particular variants, but their specifications should not be generalized across the range:

If searching a marketplace, “Luycho mirror cup and saucer set” is a useful phrase. The existence of maker and retailer listings does not establish that Amazon currently has an authentic set in stock; verify the seller, product details, shipping region, and availability before buying.

Scroll reported in 2019 that Luycho representative Sang Ha Cho said the company was receiving “100-200 DMs (direct messages) every hour” in a Facebook post during the video’s viral attention. That is a time-bound statement attributed to the representative, not an independently audited measure or evidence of current demand. The available listings establish that these products have been offered; they do not establish sales totals or comparative performance.
