If a Hotronix heat transfer is not sticking, first confirm the press model and follow its matching operator manual. Hotronix models do not all use the same controls or pressure-adjustment method. Then check the transfer supplier’s time, temperature and pressure instructions for the specific material before changing press settings or repeatedly pressing a failed design.
Start with the exact Hotronix model
Identify the model printed on the press or its documentation, then find that model’s operator manual in the official Hotronix manuals index. Use that manual for control sequences, pressure adjustments and model-specific warnings; do not assume another Hotronix press works the same way.
For example, the Fusion IQ uses a touchscreen, while the LowRider manual describes a pressure readout and mechanical adjustment. Those examples are not universal instructions.
If a transfer will not stick
Check the application settings first
Compare the press settings with the transfer supplier’s instructions for the particular transfer and garment or substrate. Check time, temperature and pressure together. Transfer materials and adhesives can require different pressure, so a setting that works for one product may not work for another. - Confirm that the instructions apply to the transfer material you are using.
- Verify the selected time, temperature and pressure against those instructions.
- If the settings match but the transfer still fails, investigate whether the press itself needs testing rather than repeatedly applying the same transfer.
Do not keep reheating a failed design
Repeated over-application can burn off adhesive that remains on the transfer. If an application has failed, avoid treating another press as a guaranteed fix; identify whether the problem is the application settings or the press.
If only part of the design adheres
A transfer that fails in one area but adheres elsewhere can be consistent with uneven platen heat, though that pattern alone does not diagnose the cause. STAHLS’ describes a cold spot as a section of the platen without adequate heating in Understanding the Temperature on Your Heat Press.

Check heat from the platen itself
STAHLS’ recommends heat-seal test strips or an appropriate heat test kit to check the heat coming from the actual upper platen. Follow the kit’s instructions. A screen-print heat gun is not an appropriate substitute for this test; it is intended for a different kind of machine.
Use the result to decide what to do next
If a platen test indicates uneven heat, or the localized failure continues despite correct transfer settings, consult the model’s manual and contact Hotronix technical support. A test result can help identify a press issue, but it does not by itself establish which component needs service.

If pressure seems too light or too heavy
Use the pressure procedure for your exact model. Do not apply the LowRider’s adjustment method or numeric scale to a different press.
LowRider-specific adjustment and warning
The Hotronix LowRider Operator’s Manual describes turning the pressure adjustment clockwise to increase pressure and counterclockwise to decrease it. It describes a 0–9 readout when the press is locked in print position. The manual also warns: “Structural damage caused by excessive pressure is not covered under the limited warranty!” This warning concerns the LowRider manual and its stated warranty terms; it should not be generalized to other models.

If the controls do not match a guide
Return to the manual for the model in front of you rather than trying a control sequence from another press.
Fusion IQ touchscreen
The Fusion IQ Operator’s Manual describes a touchscreen home screen that displays the current application temperature and time, with pressure information accessible through the display. When to contact technical support
If correct transfer settings do not resolve the problem, a platen test suggests uneven heat, the controls behave unexpectedly, or the issue may involve internal components, consult the official manual and contact Hotronix technical support. Use the support information for your model; the Fusion IQ manual includes a service hotline. Do not open or attempt to repair internal electrical components based on a general troubleshooting guide.
The STAHLS’ customer-support article discusses support resources, but it is vendor-authored promotional material. Confirm current contact details in the official manuals or support resources rather than relying on an old contact number.
