The original headline referred to a promotion that launched weeks before Black Friday and was active when TechRadar reported it. As of August 16, 2026, the event is historical. The sections below separate the reported discount ranges, archival product examples, timing, and practical buying checks from any current promotion.

What was on sale at Home Depot for Black Friday?
Home Depot’s 2025 Black Friday assortment included the categories below. Discount ceilings were promotional maximums for selected items, not a guarantee that every product in a category received the same discount.
| Category | Reported 2025 offer | Examples and buying considerations |
|---|---|---|
| Christmas decor | Trees, wreaths, garlands, inflatables, and outdoor decor from about $19.99 | Check height, lighting, weather resistance, anchoring, storage, and replacement-part availability. |
| Power tools | Up to 45% off selected tools | Offers included saws, drills, batteries, combo kits, tool storage, compressors, and shop vacuums. |
| Major appliances | Up to 40% off, plus reported multi-appliance savings | Compare dimensions, capacity, installation, delivery, haul-away, warranty, and bundle eligibility. |
| Smart home | Up to 50% off selected security cameras and Ring doorbells | Check subscription requirements, power source, compatibility, and return terms. |
| Furniture and decor | Up to 35% off furniture, rugs, and decor | Measure doorways and rooms, then check material, assembly, shipping, and return details. |
| Grills | Selected grills from $99 | Compare fuel type, cooking area, included accessories, cover compatibility, and assembly. |
| Lawn and outdoor power equipment | Up to $250 off lawnmowers and up to $150 off outdoor power equipment | Battery platform, runtime, cutting width, engine size, and service availability matter more than the headline discount. |
| Vacuums | Up to 40% off selected robot and upright vacuums | Compare floor mapping, battery life, filtration, replacement parts, and dock features. |
| Office equipment | Height-adjustable desks up to 40% off; swivel chairs from $50 | Check desk load rating, adjustment range, chair dimensions, lumbar support, and assembly. |
NBC Select’s November 11, 2025 early-sale coverage reported a separate maximum of up to 60% across holiday decorations, power tools, mattresses, home decor, furniture, and small appliances. The different 45% and 60% figures reflect different promotional coverage and categories, not necessarily a contradiction.
Did Home Depot have Black Friday deals on Christmas trees?
Yes. Christmas trees and other holiday decorations were among the clearest Home Depot Black Friday categories in 2025, but the advertised prices were historical and the 2025 event is no longer live.
TechRadar reported Christmas trees, outdoor decor, inflatables, wreaths, and garlands from $19.99. An archival sale-ad summary gave a more specific example: a 7.5-foot LED pre-lit Oxford Pine artificial Christmas tree was listed at $79, reduced from $199. The same archive listed a three-piece pre-lit deer family at $99, 4-foot Grinch and 3.5-foot Max inflatables at $19.98 each, and a 22-inch wreath with bow at $5. These were 2025 examples, not current prices; the detailed examples are documented by the 2025 Home Depot ad archive.

For shoppers replacing a tree outside the expired promotion, a pre-lit artificial Christmas tree is the most relevant broad product category to compare across retailers. Do not assume that the exact Home Depot tree, the $79 price, or an equivalent Amazon listing is still available.
| Artificial-tree specification | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Height and width | A 7.5-foot tree can require substantial ceiling and floor clearance; measure the room before buying. |
| Pre-lit versus unlit | Pre-lit trees simplify setup, while unlit trees make future light replacement and style changes easier. |
| LED type | Check steady, color-changing, warm-white, multicolor, timer, and replacement-light features. |
| Branch density and setup | Hinged sections and a fuller branch structure affect assembly time, appearance, and storage space. |
| Indoor/outdoor rating | Indoor trees and outdoor decorations are not interchangeable; verify the product’s environmental rating. |
| Storage and warranty | Confirm the packed dimensions, included stand, storage requirements, and coverage for lights or branches. |
Were Home Depot tools cheaper on Black Friday?
Selected Home Depot tools were advertised at up to 45% off during the 2025 Black Friday promotion, with additional offers such as a free tool or battery on qualifying purchases. The strongest tool deals depended on the battery platform and the kit contents, so a lower sticker price was not automatically the better value.
The 2025 tool assortment included DEWALT, RYOBI, Milwaukee, Makita, RIDGID, Diablo, and Husky. Home Depot’s archived Black Friday tools category described deals on combo kits, batteries, power saws, drills, hand tools, tool boxes, tool chests, air compressors, and shop vacuums.
| Historical example | Advertised 2025 price | Previous price or detail |
|---|---|---|
| Milwaukee M12 RedLithium 12V 6.0Ah battery | $49 | Historical archival example; no current-price implication. |
| Milwaukee M18 compact inverter kit | $99 | Historical archival example. |
| DEWALT 20V Max 12-inch chainsaw kit | $229 | Reduced from $279 in the archival ad summary. |
| RYOBI 20V brushless two-tool 2.0Ah kit | $149 | Reduced from $249 in the archival ad summary. |
| RYOBI ONE+ circular saw or reciprocating saw kit | $49.88 each | Historical archival examples. |
| Makita 18V sub-compact brushless circular saw | $149 | Reduced from $189 in the archival ad summary. |
| RIDGID 18V subcompact brushless two-tool kit | $139 | Reduced from $199 in the archival ad summary. |
When comparing a current cordless power-tool combo kit, prioritize the battery platform you already own, brushless versus brushed motors, included batteries and charger, tool count, intended tasks, cutting or torque capacity, ergonomics, warranty, and compatibility. A kit with two useful bare tools can be a better construction purchase than a larger kit containing tools that will rarely be used.

Which tool-kit specifications should contractors compare?
Contractors should compare the complete working system rather than the number printed in a Black Friday banner. Battery compatibility is especially important because adding a new platform can make a discounted kit more expensive after buying chargers and replacement batteries.
| Decision point | What to check before purchase |
|---|---|
| Battery platform | Confirm whether the batteries fit tools already used on the jobsite. |
| Voltage and capacity | Check voltage and amp-hour capacity against the runtime and power demands of the work. |
| Motor | Brushless motors are a distinct specification from brushed motors; compare the manufacturer’s performance and warranty information. |
| Kit contents | List each tool, battery, charger, case, blade, bit, and accessory rather than relying on the tool count. |
| Job suitability | Match saw size, drill capability, torque, cutting capacity, weight, and ergonomics to the work. |
| Ownership cost | Include additional batteries, chargers, blades, bits, cases, and replacement parts. |
What appliances were on sale at Home Depot?
Home Depot’s 2025 Black Friday appliance promotion covered refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers, and other major appliances, with reported savings of up to 40%. TechRadar also reported up to $1,000 in additional savings when purchasing multiple eligible appliances, subject to the promotion’s conditions.
Home Depot’s Q3 2025 earnings-call transcript named LG, Samsung, Bosch, Whirlpool, GE, and Frigidaire among the appliance brands expected in the holiday assortment. The company discussion also identified an LG stainless-steel French-door refrigerator with Craft Ice and a Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher with a 50-minute wash cycle as notable products. These statements describe the planned 2025 assortment, not a current 2026 inventory or discount; see Home Depot’s Q3 2025 earnings-call transcript.

For a major-appliance purchase, verify the actual sale price, dimensions, capacity, finish, energy use, smart features, installation requirements, delivery date, haul-away service, warranty, and bundle eligibility. Appliance discounts can be less valuable if a refrigerator, range, washer, or dryer does not fit the opening or requires unexpected electrical, plumbing, ventilation, or installation work.
When did Home Depot’s 2025 Black Friday sale end?
Home Depot’s 2025 Black Friday sale was reported as an early promotion in November and December 2025, and it ended on December 3, 2025, while supplies lasted, according to archival sale-ad information. The main event was reported as beginning online on November 27 and in stores on November 28 at 6:00 a.m. local time. Because those dates come from an independent archive, they should be treated as historical sale-ad information rather than a current Home Depot policy.

What should readers remember about the 2025 sale?
Home Depot’s 2025 Black Friday sale was broad and began early, but it was not one uniform 45%-off event. Christmas decor, selected tools, major appliances, smart-home products, furniture, outdoor equipment, vacuums, and office products each had different discounts, conditions, and inventory limits. The 2025 promotion ended December 3, 2025, so historical prices such as the $79 pre-lit tree and $149 RYOBI kit are useful examples only, not current buying opportunities.
