The Ecovacs Deebot T80 OMNI attracted attention for a specific reason: it brought Ecovacs’ continuously rinsed OZMO ROLLER mop to the more accessible T-series. Unlike conventional spinning or vibrating pads that can spread dirty water, the T80 feeds clean water to its roller, scrapes away wastewater and debris, and returns to its dock for automated washing and drying.
That makes it particularly compelling for homes with sealed hard floors, children, pets, kitchen spills and frequent wet messes. It does not make the T80 the objectively best robot vacuum for every home, however. Independent testing found weaker carpet and heavy pet-hair performance, while corners and occasional navigation stalls remain limitations.

The short verdict
Buy the T80 OMNI if hard-floor mopping and low-effort maintenance matter more than maximum carpet pickup. Its roller mop is the meaningful innovation, not the headline suction number. It can be an excellent choice for dried spills, food residue and tracked-in dirt on sealed floors, especially when purchased well below its original price.

Look elsewhere if your home is mostly carpeted, contains thick rugs or has heavy-shedding pets. The T80 can lift its mop and vacuum carpet, but RTINGS’ testing found it less effective for demanding carpet and pet-hair work than stronger vacuum-focused alternatives.

What makes the T80 OMNI different?
The T80 OMNI is an all-in-one robot vacuum and mop with an automated station. It combines:
- A robot vacuum with up to 18,000 Pa of manufacturer-rated maximum suction.
- An OZMO ROLLER mop with claimed roller speeds of up to 200 rpm.
- Automatic dustbin emptying.
- Warm-water mop washing and hot-air drying.
- Automatic clean-water refilling and dirty-water collection.
- dToF navigation and RGBD obstacle avoidance.
- Carpet detection and automatic mop lifting.
Its U.S. launch took place on May 13, 2025, at an announced MSRP of $1,199.99. Ecovacs offered a $1,079.99 launch promotion from May 13 through May 19, 2025. A Best Buy listing checked on August 18, 2026 showed $549.99, but that was a later observed sale price—not a verified August 16 price—and retailer pricing can change quickly. See the official T80 OMNI specifications and Ecovacs’ launch announcement.
Why a roller mop matters
Most robot mops use stationary, vibrating or rotating pads. Those systems can clean effectively, but the pad may become progressively dirtier as it travels from room to room. The T80’s roller is designed to keep replenishing itself with clean water:
- Clean water is delivered to the roller.
- The roller scrubs the floor as the robot moves.
- A scraper removes dirty water and collected debris.
- The roller receives fresh water during cleaning.
- The OMNI station washes and dries the roller after the run.
The practical difference is important on sealed hard floors. A roller can physically lift liquid grime and residue rather than simply wiping with an increasingly dirty damp pad. That is why the T80 is more interesting for kitchens, entryways, pet accidents and food spills than a robot that merely offers a higher suction specification.
It is still a compact robot, not a full-size wet/dry floor washer. Its cleaning path is narrower, its water supply is limited, and it cannot replace manual treatment of every sticky or heavily dried substance. Cleaning results also depend on the flooring, stain age, cleaning solution, number of passes and selected settings.
Does it actually remove stains?
The independent evidence is favorable, with appropriate limits. RTINGS describes the T80 as particularly strong for stain cleaning and hard-floor homes. Vacuum Wars reported a dried-stain score of 139.5, 0.3 grams of water left behind and a combined mop score of 287 in its testing system.
Those are results from specific test methods, not a guarantee for every household. A robot may need multiple passes on old or sticky residue, and the user should not treat it as a device for collecting large quantities of liquid unless the manual explicitly permits that use. The strongest defensible conclusion is that the T80’s roller mop is a genuine performance advantage for hard-floor stains—not that it eliminates manual mopping.
Ecovacs also advertises 3,700 Pa of mopping pressure and has described the system using a “16×” cleaning-force claim. These are manufacturer claims, not standardized independent measurements. They should be considered alongside real-world testing rather than treated as universal rankings.
What do 18,000 Pa and 3,700 Pa mean?
The two numbers describe different manufacturer specifications:

- 3,700 Pa: claimed concentrated mopping pressure.
Neither number alone predicts household cleaning performance. Pickup also depends on airflow, brush design, floor contact, debris type, navigation passes and whether the robot reaches the area at all. A high Pa figure cannot compensate for weak carpet agitation or debris left in corners.
The U.S. product page lists a robot measuring 353 × 351.5 × 98 millimeters—approximately 13.9 × 13.8 × 3.9 inches. It also lists obstacle crossing up to 20 mm, a 10 mm automatic mop lift, a 4-liter clean-water tank, a 2.2-liter dirty-water tank and a 3-liter dust bag.
Carpet performance is the important caveat
The T80 detects carpet and can lift its mop by up to 10 mm. Ecovacs also describes carpet-care modes intended to vacuum carpets first and reduce the chance of carrying moisture or dirt across them.
That is useful, but it does not turn the T80 into a carpet specialist. RTINGS found that carpet cleaning was less impressive than the robot’s hard-floor stain performance, particularly when compared with stronger vacuum-focused models. A 10 mm lift also cannot guarantee that every rug will remain dry: pile height, rug movement, detection accuracy and cleaning mode all matter.

Use extra caution with:
- High-pile carpet.
- Loose runners and lightweight bath mats.
- Long fringe or tassels that can tangle.
- Rugs with edges that bunch or curl.
- Rooms where the majority of debris is embedded in carpet.
If your home is mostly hard flooring with a few low-pile rugs, this limitation may be acceptable. If it is mostly carpet, prioritize independent carpet and pet-hair results over roller-mop features.
Is it good for pet hair?
The answer depends heavily on the floor type. On hard floors, the T80 is attractive because its roller can address wet pet messes as well as ordinary dust and hair. Its anti-tangle design is intended to reduce hair wrapping.
On carpet, the verdict is more moderate. RTINGS found heavy pet-hair pickup less impressive than the best vacuum-focused competitors. Long hair can also collect in the roller, side brush, brush assembly or internal mop mechanism despite the “ZeroTangle” branding. That term should mean reduced tangling, not zero maintenance.
Pet owners should still inspect the brush, roller, tray, filters and tanks regularly. Wet hair and organic debris are especially likely to create odors if the dirty-water system is left dirty or the roller remains contaminated.
How hands-off is the OMNI station?
The station automates most of the unpleasant work. It can empty the robot’s dustbin, wash the mop with warm water, dry it with hot air, refill the robot’s water supply and collect dirty water.
Ecovacs’ U.S. specification table lists 75°C warm-water mop washing. Its marketing summary lists 45°C hot-air drying, while the launch release describes drying at 113°F. Because product pages and regional specifications can use different wording, these temperatures should be attributed to Ecovacs rather than presented as independently measured results.
The station is not plumbing-compatible in the U.S. specification. You must manually fill the clean-water tank and empty the dirty-water tank. That is substantially less work than washing a mop after every run, but it is not a fully unattended installation.
The robot’s wet-cleaning system also creates recurring chores:

Official Ecovacs listings observed on August 18, 2026 included a T80 cleaning kit at $154.95, an accessories kit at $104.97, six antibacterial dust bags at $49.98, a single dust bag at $24.99, cleaning solution at $24.99 per listed 1-liter item, an anti-tangle main brush at $19.99 and an antibacterial filter at $14.99. These prices do not establish an annual ownership cost because replacement intervals and household usage vary.
Edges and corners: better, not perfect
The T80 uses Ecovacs’ TruEdge system and a side-extending roller design. Ecovacs claims 9 mm precision and 99% coverage in a laboratory scenario, while noting that household results may vary.
That should not be translated into “cleans every edge.” There is a difference between approaching a baseboard, cleaning the floor directly beside it, removing debris from a 90-degree corner and reaching beneath an overhang. RTINGS still found that the T80 can require manual cleaning along baseboards and in corners.
Expect better edge access than a fixed central mop, but keep a handheld vacuum or cloth for tight corners and the final strip beside walls.

Ecovacs lists dToF navigation and RGBD obstacle avoidance. Retail and review material has described recognition of more than 100 object types, but those capabilities should not be confused with immunity from getting stuck.
Vacuum Wars reported occasional stalls during evaluation. That is a documented test observation, not proof that every T80 will fail in the same way. Early runs should be supervised, particularly in homes with:

Clear the floor before initial mapping, keep the dock accessible and avoid moving the robot by hand unless necessary. If you do relocate it, give it time to reorient before assuming a map or room schedule is still accurate.
App and smart-home features
The T80 uses the ECOVACS HOME app. Retail material also references Matter-compatible voice-assistant support. App menus, firmware behavior and supported voice ecosystems can change, so buyers should check current U.S. compatibility before purchase.
Useful functions include mapping, room naming, no-go zones, scheduling, carpet and mop settings, vacuum-first-then-mop behavior, additional passes, firmware updates and cleaning preferences. Camera-based obstacle avoidance also makes privacy settings worth reviewing. Do not rely on an old menu path: verify the current app version and permissions on your phone.
T80 OMNI versus the alternatives
| Priority | More suitable direction | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Hard-floor stain cleaning and roller-mop value | T80 OMNI | The continuously rinsed roller is its central advantage. |
| Newer Ecovacs hardware | T80S OMNI | Ecovacs lists 24,800 Pa suction and upgraded roller-mop and station features. |
| Carpet and heavy pet-hair pickup | MOVA P50 Pro Ultra or another vacuum-focused competitor | RTINGS identifies the MOVA as stronger for vacuuming, carpet and pet hair, while the T80 is stronger for mopping. |
| A different roller-mop ecosystem | Eufy E25 | A competing roller-mop option worth comparing on navigation, station design, parts and app quality. |
| Basic automation at the lowest cost | Conventional pad-mop or vacuum-only robot | Lower-cost models may be sufficient when continuously rinsed mopping is not a priority. |
The T80’s same-brand step-up is the Deebot T80S OMNI. Ecovacs lists higher headline suction and newer hardware, but the upgrade is harder to justify if the T80 is heavily discounted and your main need is hard-floor mopping.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDoes the price make the T80 worthwhile?
At its $1,199.99 launch MSRP, the T80 faced stronger competition from premium models. At the $549.99 Best Buy price observed on August 18, 2026, its roller-mop system became much easier to recommend. The key is to evaluate the actual sale price rather than assume that every discount is permanent.
A good purchase case is strongest when the T80 is substantially below MSRP and your home matches its strengths. A lower price does not fix the carpet limitation, eliminate consumables or make the station plumbing-compatible—but it can make those trade-offs reasonable.
Who should buy it?
- Buy it if your home is mostly sealed hard flooring.
- Buy it if dried spills, food residue or pet accidents are recurring problems.
- Buy it if you want the roller-mop concept without paying flagship X-series pricing.
- Buy it if you can manually fill and empty the station tanks.
- Consider it especially strongly when the sale price is well below the original MSRP.
Who should skip it?
- Skip it if most of your floors are carpet.
- Skip it if heavy pet hair is embedded in thick carpet.
- Skip it if perfect baseboards and corners are essential.
- Skip it if you need automatic upper- and lower-water plumbing.
- Skip it if you will not clean tanks, trays, filters, brushes and the roller.
- Skip it if your home has many loose, fringed or easily bunched rugs.
- Skip it if a quieter dock is a top priority; the U.S. product page lists dust-collection noise at approximately 78.3 dBA.
Final verdict
The Ecovacs Deebot T80 OMNI was one of 2025’s most interesting robot vacuum-mops because it made a genuinely different mopping system more accessible. Its continuously rinsed OZMO ROLLER is a meaningful improvement for hard-floor stains and wet messes, while the OMNI station removes much of the daily work.
But “the hottest” should remain an editorial description, not an objective industry ranking. The T80 is not the universal best robot vacuum: carpet pickup, heavy pet-hair performance, tight corners, occasional stalls and manual tank maintenance all matter.
The precise recommendation is simple: choose the T80 for hands-off, stain-focused cleaning on mostly hard floors—particularly at a substantial discount. Choose a stronger vacuum-first alternative if carpet and pet hair are the main problem.
