The same article describes an Among Us-themed front yard with workers and fallen spacemen. Unlike the single-pumpkin character, this approach depends on how multiple pieces relate: placement, repetition and a clear central idea help visitors recognize the scene. It is an example from 2020, not evidence that the theme remains a current trend.
Choose a display format that fits your space and effort
A Reddit discussion on outdoor Halloween decoration tips includes individual suggestions such as inflatables, rope spiderwebs, graveyard scenes, adjustable LEDs, battery puck lights and projectors. The table describes the formats raised in the Reddit discussion, not controlled product comparisons. Before choosing, consider available space, whether visitors need to walk through the display, how much setup you want, and whether you can store the props afterward.
Keep carving and visitor access safe
For U.S. readers, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security advises that young children draw a jack-o’-lantern face while parents do the carving, and that dangerous trip hazards be removed from the yard. The Consumer Product Safety Commission also identifies pumpkin carving as an injury concern. Its 2022 Halloween release said 48% of incidents in its stated set were related to pumpkin carving; its 2023 release reported 55% for its stated set. Those percentages describe the releases’ respective incident sets and should not be read as a year-to-year trend without matching definitions and underlying data.

- Keep children’s role to drawing the face; have an adult handle carving.
- Clear the yard and approach of dangerous objects and trip hazards, especially around props, cords and display edges.
- If using lights, follow the CPSC’s 2022 advice to choose lights tested by a recognized testing laboratory.

For a practical plan, avoid placing valuable or easily carried props close to the sidewalk, and keep any securing method from creating a trip hazard or blocking a walkway. Do not treat a Reddit suggestion as a guarantee against theft.
