The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa monorail station refurbishment is nearing completion, but it is not finished yet. An October 26, 2026 field report still found scaffolding and a construction wall around the front-right entrance, a partly exposed ceiling with plywood and wiring, and construction residue visible from the guest path. The Resort Monorail has continued serving Grand Floridian during the reported work phases, and Disney still lists the resort as a regular stop. Disney has not published a firm station-completion or reopening date.
What is the latest status of the Grand Floridian monorail station construction?
WDW News Today reported on October 26, 2026, that the refurbishment was “nearing completion.” Most steel on the station’s front facade was covered, but a small plywood-covered section remained. Scaffolding and a construction wall still wrapped the front-right side of the entrance.

The enclosed area was not fully finished. The ceiling above it remained partly exposed, with plywood, construction residue, two large openings, inner structural elements and visible wiring. Guests can see these conditions from the path leading into the resort, so the arrival experience may still look like an active construction zone.
“Nearing completion” does not mean the station has reopened after a closure or that all work is complete. The latest report provides no final-completion date.

Is the Grand Floridian monorail station open?
The available reports support continued operation during the documented construction phases, but they do not guarantee service on every future date. Disney’s official transportation information lists Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa as a Resort Monorail stop.

Yes, service continued during the August 19, 2026 work phase. WDW News Today reported that the active work was on the side of the station accessible only to Cast Members, while monorails continued to and from Grand Floridian.
Earlier observations also showed the station operating while crews worked beneath it. That history indicates that construction has been phased around guest transportation rather than requiring a permanent shutdown. It still does not establish a promise of uninterrupted service during later work or on a particular travel date.

The project has progressed from protective work around the arrival area to structural replacement and facade finishing. The documented sequence is:

Will construction affect the porte cochere or resort entrance?
Guests should plan for visible work around the porte cochere and the arrival route. Construction walls and scaffolding may narrow or redirect the normal approach, and daytime activity can create noise or require an alternate path. The March 13 report noted that the entrance remained open even while walls surrounded the porte cochere; current access should nevertheless be confirmed when you arrive.
The broader resort refurbishment is expected to continue through early 2027, according to previously shared Disney information cited by WDW News Today and a current resort-construction guide. That broader timeline is not a station-specific completion promise.

When will the Grand Floridian monorail station construction be finished?
There is no published exact date. The strongest current description is WDW News Today’s October 26 statement that the refurbishment is nearing completion. Because visible structural and finish work remained then, travelers should not book around an assumed reopening or completion day.
If an unobstructed entrance is important, verify conditions shortly before arrival and keep flexibility for a changed walkway or transportation operation. Disney’s construction schedule can move independently of the general early-2027 timeline for work across the resort.
Should you avoid staying at Grand Floridian while work continues?
That decision depends on which trade-offs matter most to your trip. Keeping a Grand Floridian reservation is more reasonable if you value the resort’s monorail location and can tolerate construction scenery, possible daytime noise and a less direct arrival path. Choosing another resort may suit travelers who place a high priority on an unobstructed porte cochere, quiet daytime conditions or a predictable entrance flow.
The monorail stop is a meaningful advantage for Magic Kingdom access, but current service should be treated as changeable rather than guaranteed. Ask Disney about the latest resort conditions before changing a reservation, especially if mobility needs or luggage transfers make alternate paths difficult.

Do you need an alternate route to Magic Kingdom?
Not necessarily. Grand Floridian remains on Disney’s published Resort Monorail route, and service continued during the August construction phase. However, a temporary operating change, maintenance closure or entrance detour could occur on a particular day.
Check the My Disney Experience app before leaving the resort and confirm the boarding location with a Cast Member if construction walls have changed the usual path. Build extra walking time into your plan when the porte cochere area is busy or partially redirected.
