Gilbane Building has added Brad McMullan as senior project executive for healthcare opportunities and client relationships in Philadelphia and New Jersey, while expanding senior project executive Ryan Becker’s healthcare responsibilities to Maryland and Washington, DC. The company says the appointments extend healthcare leadership across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and the Washington, DC region.

Why does the company say it is expanding healthcare leadership?
Gilbane says the roles are intended to help healthcare clients advance capital programs while protecting patient care and maintaining operations in active environments. That rationale reflects the company’s stated aim, not measured evidence that the appointments have changed project delivery or patient-care outcomes.
Active-site renovation is relevant context for Becker’s experience. In a December 2024 article on behavioral-health construction, coauthored by Becker, Gilbane discussed design review and permitting and recommended involving a construction manager early in planning. Construction Owners published a report on October 10, 2026, attributing its account to Gilbane; it is a second publication of the announcement rather than independent verification of the biographical claims. Gilbane has separately reported that it ranked “#6 in the nation” in Modern Healthcare’s 2026 Construction & Design Survey, which the company says ranks firms by healthcare construction activity across the United States. This is company-reported survey context, not a ranking contained in the appointment announcement and not evidence that the new roles will improve outcomes.
