Everus Construction Group’s August 4, 2026, outlook upgrade strengthens the company’s operating case: it raised full-year revenue guidance to $4.5–$4.7 billion and EBITDA guidance to $410–$425 million, citing strong first-half results and its SE&M acquisition. The upgrade is supported by organic growth, expanding margins, and a larger backlog, but it does not establish that ECG shares are attractively priced. That depends on the share price and market expectations relative to the higher forecast.
What Everus changed in its 2026 outlook
On August 4, 2026, alongside its second-quarter results, Everus raised both full-year guidance ranges. Revenue guidance rose by $200 million at each end, from $4.3–$4.4 billion to $4.5–$4.7 billion. EBITDA guidance increased from $345–$360 million to $410–$425 million. The company attributed the revision to strong first-half performance and the SE&M acquisition. It kept gross capital expenditure guidance at $90–$100 million, or 1.9%–2.2% of forecast revenue. Everus’s August 4, 2026 results release

The upgrade is the second in 2026. Everus began the year with revenue guidance of $4.1–$4.2 billion and EBITDA guidance of $320–$335 million, then raised those ranges in May to $4.3–$4.4 billion and $345–$360 million after first-quarter results and the SE&M acquisition. The August revision moves the annual outlook higher again. Everus’s initial 2026 outlook

Growth includes a substantial organic component
Second-quarter revenue was $1.23 billion, up 33.7% year over year. Excluding SE&M, revenue grew 30.0% organically, indicating that the reported increase was not solely acquisition-driven. For the first half, revenue rose 29.8% to $2.27 billion, or 27.9% excluding SE&M. Everus’s Q2 2026 results
#1 Best Overall
Growth differed by segment. Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) revenue increased 41.6% in the second quarter, including 36.9% organic growth, led by commercial and industrial work, particularly data centers. Transmission and Distribution (T&D) revenue rose 7.1%, primarily on utility workloads. Management also reported more than $2 billion in second-quarter project bookings and described demand in data centers, hospitality, and high-tech markets as strong. These figures point to varied sources of activity rather than a uniform growth rate across the business.
Margins and earnings improved alongside revenue
Second-quarter EBITDA increased 52.7% to $128.6 million, and EBITDA margin expanded to 10.4% from 9.1% a year earlier. Gross profit rose 52.6% to $183.0 million; gross margin increased to 14.9% from 13.0%. For the first half, EBITDA rose 49.0% to $217.5 million and gross margin was 13.8%, compared with 12.2% in the first half of 2025. Net income for the quarter increased 58.9% to $83.9 million, with diluted EPS of $1.64, up 59.2%. First-half net income rose 58.9% to $142.2 million, and diluted EPS was $2.78 versus $1.75.

Higher revenue alone would not show whether the business is converting activity into stronger results. The margin expansion and faster EBITDA growth provide additional support for the upgraded outlook, although quarterly margins can still vary with project timing and work mix.

Backlog was $4.55 billion at June 30, 2026, up 41.0% from December 31, 2025, and 52.8% year over year. It supports the view that Everus has a substantial volume of contracted work, but it should not be treated as guaranteed near-term revenue or profit. Everus says award timing, master service agreements, contract duration, and service mix affect backlog, and cautions that backlog alone is not a predictor of future results. How the upgrade changes the investment case
The stronger operating outlook is a positive change in the evidence investors can assess: Everus has raised its annual ranges twice, delivered considerable organic growth, expanded margins, and reported a larger backlog. Its acquisition of SE&M also adds scale and is part of the rationale for the revised forecast. Those factors improve the case that the business is growing, but they do not answer whether the stock offers an attractive return at its current price.
Everus’s balance sheet provides another part of the picture. At June 30, the company reported $157.4 million in unrestricted cash and $277.5 million in gross debt. Its net leverage, defined as net debt to trailing-twelve-month EBITDA, was 0.3x. First-half operating cash flow was $196.8 million and free cash flow was $167.0 million, against $35.6 million of capital expenditure during that period. The company still expects gross capital expenditure of $90–$100 million for 2026. Low reported leverage and positive cash generation are supportive, while planned spending and acquisition integration remain relevant to how cash and capacity are deployed. There are execution considerations as well as tailwinds. The higher outlook partly reflects acquired contribution, so investors should distinguish SE&M’s impact from organic performance and watch the integration. Everus also reported higher SG&A and amortization expenses. Project timing and mix can affect segment performance and margins, and a growing backlog still has to convert into work performed and earnings. The company announced a separate agreement to acquire Epsilon Industries and, in the Q2 release, said it looked forward to closing and expected the transaction to expand modular construction and prefabrication capabilities; that release does not establish that the deal had closed.
What the upgrade cannot tell you about ECG shares
An improved forecast is not the same as an undervalued stock. The operating figures and management guidance do not, on their own, establish a current ECG share price, valuation multiple, analyst consensus, peer valuation, or what the market already expects. Without those inputs, it is not possible to conclude from the outlook revision alone that the shares are cheap, fairly valued, or a buy.
Best Value
For a price-based judgment, compare the current share price and valuation with the raised revenue and EBITDA ranges, then assess whether the expected growth and margins justify that valuation. Also consider how much of the forecast depends on SE&M, whether organic performance can persist, and how backlog converts across project timing and mix. The guidance remains management’s forward-looking estimate: Everus cautions that actual results may differ materially from projections and that its forward-looking statements speak only as of the release date.
