Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Short answer: the Eufy Clean L60 is a good budget mapping robot for routine pet-hair cleanup on hard floors, but it is not a substitute for a powerful upright vacuum on thick carpet or heavily embedded fur. The standard L60 has a manually emptied 350 ml dustbin. The L60 with Self-Empty Station (L60 SES) adds automatic debris transfer and a hair-cutting mechanism, making it the more practical choice for frequent cleaning and shedding pets.
The distinction matters because many current listings emphasize the SES model, while reviews of the original L60—including the Tech Advisor review—cover the standard robot without the self-emptying dock. Tech Advisor praised its pet-hair cleaning and mapping, while RTINGS found its pet-hair pickup mediocre. The fairest conclusion is that results depend heavily on floor type, hair volume, and whether fur is loose or embedded.

L60 vs. L60 SES: the version changes the ownership experience
| Model | Main difference | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Eufy Clean L60 | Manual emptying of the robot’s dustbin | Smaller homes and buyers seeking the lower upfront cost |
| Eufy L60 SES | Self-empty dock, 2.5-liter bag and hair-detangling cutter | Pet owners who run the robot frequently and want less daily handling |
Both versions use the same basic robot platform. Eufy lists 5,000 Pa suction, BoostIQ automatic suction adjustment, iPath laser navigation, AI.Map 2.0, a 350 ml robot dustbin and up to 120 minutes of maximum runtime. Those are manufacturer specifications—not standardized proof that the L60 will outperform another vacuum. Check Eufy’s comparison and variant listings before buying.
How good is the L60 for pet hair?
Hard floors
Hard floors are the L60’s safest recommendation. Loose fur, crumbs and everyday tracked-in debris are the kind of surface-level mess it is designed to collect, especially when the robot runs regularly rather than allowing several days of shedding to accumulate.
#1 Best Overall
- 【𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬-𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐉𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦】Refreshes the roller mop 2 times per second with clean water, ensuring every pass is spotless and preventing cross-contamination. Removes tough stains like coffee and sauce. True deep-cleaning for whole-home hygiene.
- 【𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬-𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐥𝐥-𝐢𝐧-𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧】Auto-empties dust into a 3L bag (lasts ~75 days), self-washes roller mops, hot air dries at 50°C, and auto-refills water. Complete hands-free convenience for large homes with up to 5 floor plans.
- 【𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝟐𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠】Lifts deeply embedded dirt and pet hair from carpet fibers, captures dust in grout lines, and removes food crumbs and allergens.

- 【𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐑𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐫𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠】Extends to scrub along baseboards, furniture legs, and tight corners. Works on hard floors, wood, tile, and short carpet. 10.8mm mop lift protects carpets; 21mm climbing navigates thresholds.
Low-pile carpet
The L60 can provide useful maintenance cleaning on low-pile carpet, but do not assume that a 5,000 Pa rating guarantees deep extraction. Hair worked into carpet fibers is more difficult than loose fur on a smooth floor, and independent testing is more cautious than some editorial reviews.
High-pile carpet and heavy shedding
Thick carpet, multiple shedding pets and embedded fur are the L60’s weaker use cases. If your main problem is deeply lodged hair, continue using an upright or canister vacuum with an appropriate brush head. The L60 is better viewed as a frequent-maintenance tool than as your only vacuum.
Long human hair and pet fur can wrap around the roller brush. On the SES version, the dock’s cutter cuts some of that wrapped hair before or during the emptying cycle. It reduces tangles; it does not make the robot maintenance-free. Hair can still collect around brush ends, axles, wheels, the side brush and other components.
What the self-empty station actually does
The SES dock pulls debris from the robot’s 350 ml bin into a disposable 2.5-liter dust bag. Eufy says the bag can support up to 60 days of hands-free cleaning, but that is a best-case manufacturer estimate. A multi-pet home, large floor area or heavy shedding can fill a bag considerably sooner.
The station does not wash the roller, mop, sensors or wheels. It also cannot overcome a full or incorrectly seated bag, a blocked intake path or hair trapped outside the cutter’s reach. Owners should still inspect the brush and keep the robot clean.
At the time of the supplied U.S. pricing snapshot, Eufy listed replacement dust bags at $23.99 and a replacement roller brush at $19.99. The official bundle describes bags as lasting up to eight months, another usage-dependent estimate rather than a guarantee. Treat consumables as part of the SES’s long-term cost.
Mapping and navigation
The L60 uses LDS/iPath laser navigation, so it can build a room map and clean in an organized pattern instead of randomly bouncing around. AI.Map 2.0 supports room-specific cleaning, no-go zones and multi-floor maps. That is a meaningful advantage over cheaper random-navigation robots.
For the best first map, place the dock where it will remain, open the relevant doors and remove obstacles from the floor. The map may become inaccurate if you move the dock, substantially rearrange furniture or block important routes. A map describes the home; it does not give the robot access through a closed door or the ability to climb stairs.
Use Eufy’s current L60 support materials and L60 SES manuals and tutorials for current setup, mapping, Wi-Fi and reset instructions. App labels and firmware behavior can change over time.

- 1. Compact and Quiet Operation: With a slim 2.85" profile, the eufy robot vacuum operates quietly, offering a comprehensive clean without causing a disturbance, making it perfect for use at any hour.
- 2. Extended Cleaning Performance: Capable of running up to 100 minutes on hardwood floors, the eufy vacuum robot provides powerful, consistent suction for a thorough clean at a noise level similar to a microwave.
- 3. Adaptive Suction Power for Different Surfaces: BoostIQ Technology adjusts suction within 1.5s for optimal cleaning on any surface.
- 4. Superior Protection and Efficiency: The eufy robot vacuum comes with an anti-scratch tempered glass-top cover, infrared-sensor for evading obstacles, and drop-sensing tech, ensuring a safe, efficient clean while self-recharging to stay ready.
- 5. Note: The 11s Max does not support WiFi or app connectivity; all operations are performed using the remote control and the buttons on the device.
Obstacle avoidance is basic, not AI pet protection
The listed obstacle system is infrared. That is different from camera- or AI-based object recognition. Before scheduling a run, remove:
- Charging cables, strings and socks
- Pet toys, chew bones and small clothing
- Loose rug fringe
- Food and water bowls that could be pushed or spilled
- Anything that could become tangled in the roller or side brush
Most importantly, never rely on the L60 to identify pet waste, vomit or another wet accident. A robot can spread a mess across multiple rooms. Establish a quick “robot-safe floor” check before automated cleaning, particularly in homes with puppies, kittens or pets that have accidents.

Loose rugs, narrow gaps and awkward transitions can still stop or trap the robot.
Cleaning design and everyday coverage
The L60 has one side brush, a 2,600 mAh battery, BoostIQ and a 350 ml onboard bin. One side brush is a design trade-off: edge and corner pickup may be less aggressive than on some robots with two side brushes, although organized navigation and wall-following behavior can still bring the robot close to room boundaries.
Eufy’s 120-minute runtime is a maximum specification. Actual coverage falls when BoostIQ raises suction, the robot spends time on carpet, the battery ages or it must return to the dock to recharge. The L60 is most naturally suited to apartments and small-to-medium homes, not guaranteed one-pass cleaning of a large, heavily furnished house.
App, Wi-Fi and smart-home controls
Current Eufy listings describe L60 SES support for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, with Bluetooth-assisted setup, plus Eufy Clean app controls, room cleaning, no-go zones and multi-floor mapping. Alexa and Google Assistant support are also listed, although availability can depend on region and account configuration.
Recommended Free Tools
The app is most useful for scheduling, selecting individual rooms and marking areas the robot should avoid. It cannot compensate for a cluttered floor. A scheduled run may also fail if the robot cannot reach its dock or does not have enough charge to complete the planned job.
If connection or mapping problems occur, use the current model-specific manual rather than an old review’s menu instructions. A connected robot vacuum also involves an account, app, home map and Wi-Fi connection. Review Eufy’s current privacy documentation for the company’s data-handling terms instead of assuming that any connected vacuum is automatically private or secure.

For the standard L60, the 350 ml bin may need frequent emptying when the robot collects pet hair. The SES reduces that chore, but both models require periodic attention:

- Inspect the roller brush, including both ends and axles, for hair.
- Clean the side brush and check that it spins freely.
- Wipe navigation and drop sensors.
- Keep charging contacts clean.
- Check wheels for wrapped hair or trapped debris.
- Inspect the SES bag and replace it before it becomes overfilled.
- Check the intake path if suction or self-emptying becomes weak.
Long-haired pets make this routine more important. The SES cutter is a useful convenience feature, but “self-emptying” should not be confused with self-cleaning.
Which version should you buy?
Choose the standard L60 if:
- Your home is mostly hard floor or low-pile carpet.
- You want LiDAR mapping, room selection and no-go zones at a lower entry price.
- You are comfortable emptying a small bin regularly.
- Your pets shed moderately and you already perform periodic manual vacuuming.
Choose the L60 SES if:
- You run the robot often.
- You have one or more shedding pets.
- You dislike handling loose fur and dust.
- The SES costs only modestly more than the standard model.
- You accept recurring bag costs and continued brush maintenance.
The SES premium is easiest to justify when frequent emptying is your main frustration. It is less compelling if you clean only occasionally, have light shedding or can buy the standard L60 at a substantially lower price.
When another robot is the better choice
Look beyond the L60 if your priority is deep carpet pickup, dependable recognition of toys and cables, avoidance of pet accidents, mopping with automatic mop washing, a very low-profile body or minimal maintenance. A premium robot may cost more but can be a better fit for thick carpet, multiple pets and cluttered floors.
Conversely, if you have a very small apartment and do not need mapping, a cheaper random-navigation robot may cost less. The L60’s value comes from combining organized LiDAR navigation and room controls with a relatively low price—not from delivering premium obstacle avoidance or upright-vacuum-level carpet cleaning.
Price and ownership costs
Eufy’s U.S. pages have displayed inconsistent price signals, including comparison figures of $279.99 for the standard L60 and $379.99 for the SES, while another page displayed $559.99 alongside “Notify Me” and coupon messaging. These are dated promotional or catalog snapshots, not a stable universal MSRP. Check the exact variant and checkout price before purchasing.

For the SES, include replacement bags in your budget. Eufy’s listed replacement battery was $69.99 in the supplied August 2026 snapshot, which may improve long-term ownership prospects, but verify compatibility and replacement requirements for your exact model.
Final verdict
The Eufy Clean L60 is a sensible budget robot for pet owners who want organized mapping and frequent surface cleaning, especially on hard floors. Buy the standard L60 if you want the lowest cost and do not mind emptying its bin. Buy the L60 SES when the price premium is modest and reducing daily dust-bin emptying and some hair tangles matters more than avoiding consumable costs.
Do not buy either version expecting advanced object avoidance, reliable pet-waste detection, deep high-pile carpet cleaning or zero maintenance. For those needs, a stronger competitor is likely worth considering.
