EnergyMe-Home is a DIN-rail smart energy meter that can monitor up to 16 circuits: one main circuit and 15 branch circuits. It combines current-transformer (CT) inputs with a local web dashboard and integrations such as Home Assistant, MQTT, Modbus TCP, and InfluxDB. It is an electrical-panel device, not a plug-in monitor; installation involves the main panel, so anyone without relevant experience should use a qualified electrician.
What EnergyMe-Home does
EnergyMe-Home measures electrical use at the circuit level. The manufacturer describes a three-module-wide DIN-rail unit with an ESP32-S3, a dedicated measurement IC, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, 100–240 VAC input, and a local web dashboard. It is intended to fit inside an electrical panel and read current through CT clamps fitted to conductors.

The product page says the monitor supports a range of single-phase, split-phase, and three-phase voltage configurations. The project README is more specific: it lists 230 V single-phase, North American 120/240 V split-phase systems with or without neutral, and derived-voltage three-phase configurations of 400/230 V and 208/120 V. These are documented configurations, not a blanket guarantee for every three-phase service or panel. Confirm the current documentation and suitability for your electrical system before choosing or installing a unit.

One main circuit and 15 branch circuits
The project describes capacity for up to 16 circuits simultaneously: one main circuit plus 15 branch circuits. The branch inputs are multiplexed, so they are not 15 additional independent meters operating on a separate device. This layout can provide whole-panel context alongside readings for selected branch circuits.

Use the documented CT type
The README specifies CTs with a 333 mV output and 3.5 mm jack connectors. A clamp that looks physically compatible is not necessarily electrically compatible; do not assume any CT or clamp meter will work. The product page lists EnergyMe 30 A, 75 A, and 150 A clamps as separate options. Its box contents are described as one monitor, four EnergyMe 30 A CT clamps, and installation and safety documentation. Match clamp rating and connector to the circuit and the latest manufacturer guidance.
Local data, privacy, and integrations
According to the product page, basic operation is local-first: the dashboard is available on the local network and does not require a cloud service. The listed interfaces and integrations are REST API, MQTT, Modbus TCP, InfluxDB, and Home Assistant. A separate Home Assistant integration repository describes readings as Home Assistant entities and setup using the device’s IP address. Its surfaced documentation described automatic mDNS discovery as “coming soon”; check the current integration instructions rather than relying on that older implementation detail.

Follow the in-app guidance to connect to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and complete setup through the Tuya or Smart Life app.
- 【Broad Home Compatibility】This WiFi smart home energy monitor is designed for common residential electrical setups. Suitable for standard household circuits as well as homes with solar panels or backup power systems, it helps monitor electricity usage across different home energy configurations.
Local energy readings and optional project telemetry are distinct. The README says optional anonymous usage statistics are sent once per boot and include a hashed device ID, firmware version, and country or city inferred from the public IP address. It documents disabling this telemetry in platformio.ini by setting ENABLE_OPEN_SOURCE_TELEMETRY=0. Review the current firmware documentation if this setting matters to your deployment.
Accuracy: what the published claim means
The EnergyMe product page states “<1% measurement error” and says each unit is individually calibrated before shipping. This is a manufacturer-published specification; the reviewed project sources do not provide an independent laboratory validation. Treat it as the manufacturer’s claim, not as a verified comparison with other meters. No consumer-savings figure is established by the project material: EnergyMe measures and displays energy use, but monitoring alone does not reduce a bill.

- Various Monitoring Parameters: The power meter plug can monitor the power (W), energy (kWh), volts, amps, hertz, power factor, cost, minimum and maximum power (W), cumulative days and time of your appliances. By switching 7 display modes, you can easily know the various parameters while the appliance is working. The home energy monitor can also calculate and display how much power your appliance uses and how much electricity bill it cost in cumulative time
- Upgraded LCD Display: With large screen size 2.36 inch x 1.85 inch, clearer monitor backlit, our electrical usage monitor can display the data clearer and more visible no matter day or night. 180°full wide viewing angles is great for reading and recording the data in any angles. No need to stand on the front of the display and bend over to read the numbers
- Adjustable Backlight Time: Our upgraded watt meter has 5 options of backlight time. The default backlight time duration is 10 minutes(bL-0). If you want to change the backlight time, you can press and hold "UP" and "DOWN" button at the same time to enter backlight time setting, then press "UP" and "DOWN" to select the backlight time (bL-0 =10 minutes, bL-1=1 hour, bL-2=4 hours, bL-3=8 hours, bL-4=always on), finally press the "COST" to save the backlight time settings
- Overload protection: When the power of the appliance exceeds the overload power, the LCD will display “OVERLOAD” to warn the user. All the buttons will quit working and can only be workable when you lower or remove the load power. The default overload power is 3680W and is adjustable from 0 to 3680W. In general, you need to set the overload power to 1800W before using. Just press the "function" button for more than 3 seconds to enter the setting
- Data Memory Function: The wattage meter will record your power consumption data when you remove it from socket, or remove appliances from the electricity monitor. You can directly see the last data when you use it next time. This function can also automatically save the data when there is a sudden power failure
DIY route
The README documents a maker route using the public PCB files and bill of materials. It involves populating the boards, flashing firmware over UART with a USB-to-UART adapter, configuring Wi-Fi through a captive portal, and then using the local web interface. This route requires electronics assembly and firmware setup; it is not a shortcut around electrical-panel installation requirements.
Open-source design and project details
The project README identifies the firmware as GPL-3.0 and the hardware as CERN-OHL-S-2.0. It points to schematics, PCB files, and bills of materials in the project repository, allowing readers to inspect or adapt the design under the applicable license terms. The README represented the hardware as revision v6.1; hardware and firmware details may change. It names an ESP32-S3, ADE7953, and ZMPT107-1, and describes firmware built with C++, PlatformIO, and the Arduino framework.

Panel installation and safety
Installing EnergyMe-Home means working in or around the main electrical panel. The project README warns: “Always consult a qualified electrician if you’re not experienced with electrical installations.” Follow local electrical codes and the current manufacturer instructions. Do not treat the product as plug-and-play or rely on a general online guide for mains wiring.
