Ein elektrisches RC-Auto lässt sich als Bausatz selbst montieren. Entscheidend ist, vor dem Kauf die Anleitung des konkreten Modells zu prüfen: Ein Kit ist nicht automatisch fahrbereit, und Akku, Motor, Fahrtenregler, Sender und Ritzel müssen zu den Vorgaben des Chassis passen.
Was Sie brauchen, um ein RC-Auto zu bauen
Ein Bausatz liefert die mechanische Plattform, aber nicht zwingend alle Teile, die zum Fahren nötig sind. Prüfen Sie deshalb die Teileliste und den Abschnitt „zusätzlich benötigt“ in der Anleitung genau dieses Kits, bevor Sie Zubehör bestellen.
Das offizielle RC10 Classic Instruction Manual führt beispielsweise Funkanlage, elektronischen Fahrtenregler (ESC), Elektromotor, Lenkservo und Servohorn, Akku, Ladegerät und Ritzel als zusätzlich benötigte Komponenten auf. Auch Werkzeug und Karosseriefarbe können erforderlich sein. Das ist ein Beispiel für dieses Modell und keine allgemeingültige Lieferumfangsliste.
- Sender und Empfänger: Der Sender übermittelt Ihre Steuerbefehle; der Empfänger im Fahrzeug leitet sie an Servo und ESC weiter.
- Lenkservo und Servohorn: Das Servo bewegt über das Gestänge die Lenkung und damit die Räder.
- ESC und Motor: Der ESC regelt die Motordrehzahl. Getriebe und Achsen übertragen die Kraft auf die Räder.
- Akku und Ladegerät: Beide müssen zur unterstützten Akkuchemie und zu den Vorgaben des Fahrzeugs passen.
- Ritzel: Es verbindet den Motor mit dem Hauptzahnrad und muss mechanisch dazu passen.

Kompatibilität vor dem Teilekauf prüfen
Elektronik und Antrieb sollten anhand der Herstellerangaben des Chassis, ESC, Motors, Akkus und Ladegeräts gemeinsam ausgewählt werden. Ein einzelner passender Spannungswert reicht nicht aus, wenn Akkuformat, Stecker oder andere Grenzwerte abweichen.

- Akku: Zelltyp und Spannung müssen vom ESC unterstützt werden. Kontrollieren Sie außerdem, ob Abmessungen und Steckverbinder in Fahrzeug und Elektronik passen. Kaufen Sie nicht allein nach Spannung oder Kapazität in mAh.
- Motor und ESC: Stimmen Sie beide aufeinander ab und halten Sie die angegebenen Grenzwerte ein. Team Associated warnt, dass ein Motor außerhalb des zulässigen Limits Motor oder ESC beschädigen kann.
- Ritzel und Hauptzahnrad: Teilung und Maße müssen zusammenpassen. Prüfen Sie auch, ob Bohrung des Ritzels und Motorwellendurchmesser übereinstimmen und welche Ritzelgröße das Chassis vorsieht.
- Ladegerät: Wählen Sie eines, das für die verwendete Akkuchemie ausgelegt ist. Gehen Sie nicht davon aus, dass jedes Ladegerät sowohl NiMH- als auch LiPo-Akkus laden kann.
Werkzeug und Arbeitsplatz vorbereiten
Welche Werkzeuge erforderlich sind, bestimmt die Montageanleitung. Häufig gebraucht werden Flachschraubendreher, Steckschlüssel, Zange, Inbusschlüssel, Präzisionslineal und ein Hobbymesser. Je nach Kit können Sicherungsringzange, Karosserieschere, Reibahle, Seitenschneider, Lötkolben oder Reifenkleber hinzukommen. Kaufen Sie Spezialwerkzeug erst, wenn die Anleitung es für Ihren Bausatz verlangt.
Arbeiten Sie nach der Reihenfolge in der Anleitung und legen Sie die Teile so bereit, dass Sie sie den jeweiligen Montageschritten zuordnen können. Das offizielle RC10-Handbuch beschreibt seinen Zweck so: “This assembly manual contains instructions and tips for building and maintaining your new RC10 Classic.”

Erste Inbetriebnahme und sichere Fahrt
- Lesen Sie die Fahrzeug- und Akkuanleitungen und prüfen Sie, ob alle Verbindungen fest sitzen.
- Stellen Sie das Fahrzeug auf eine freie, geeignete Fläche und halten Sie Personen sowie Hindernisse im Blick.
- Schalten Sie zuerst den Sender ein und danach das Fahrzeug. Prüfen Sie die Lenkung und die Reaktion auf die Steuerbefehle, bevor Sie losfahren.
- Schalten Sie nach der Fahrt zuerst das Fahrzeug aus und anschließend den Sender.
- Trennen Sie den Akku nach der Fahrt ab. Laden Sie ihn nicht im Fahrzeug und lassen Sie einen Ladevorgang nicht unbeaufsichtigt.
Befolgen Sie beim Laden und Lagern die Vorgaben des Akkuherstellers. Bei LiPo-Akkus ist die dafür vorgeschriebene Pflege- und Lagerungsprozedur maßgeblich; die Einzelanleitungen von Akku und Fahrzeug haben Vorrang vor allgemeinen Hinweisen.

Entfernen Sie regelmäßig Schmutz und trocknen Sie das Fahrzeug nach dem Einsatz. Kontrollieren Sie bewegliche Teile und Aufhängung, Reifen auf Verschleiß sowie elektrische Leitungen auf Beschädigungen und lockere Verbindungen. Verwenden Sie Schmier- und Wartungsmittel nur entsprechend den Herstellerangaben.
