That date is reported by the Residential Property Surveyors Association (RPSA), summarising Construction News; it is not independently confirmed by the EY material available here. EY confirms the companies entered administration on 20 September 2024. For creditors and project stakeholders, the reported extension means the process remains open while claims, creditor payments and a very large body of records are dealt with—not that any particular creditor will be paid.
Which ISG companies are covered?
EY’s administration page records that eight companies entered administration on 20 September 2024. The joint administrators named by EY are Timothy Vance, Alan Michael Hudson and Dan Edkins.

What is reported about the extension?
The RPSA summary of a Construction News report dated 8 October 2026 says the eight administrations have been extended for a further two years and are expected to continue until at least September 2028. The summary does not establish that the extension has been confirmed separately for each company by a current administrator notice, court order or Companies House filing. The date should therefore be treated as a reported development, rather than as independently verified primary confirmation.
#1 Best Overall
This follows an earlier extension documented by EY. In its 2025 progress report, EY said creditors had given deemed consent to extend the administrations by 12 months, to 19 September 2026. That earlier extension is not confirmation of the later reported 2028 horizon. EY’s administration page is the source for its progress reports and notices.
Why does the process need more time?
The RPSA summary attributes the reported extension to outstanding claims, creditor payments and the volume of records connected with the collapse. It reports that the records exceed 800 terabytes and that more than 2,000 people lost their jobs immediately. Those figures are attributed to the Construction News report as summarised by RPSA; the EY material captured here does not independently verify them as 2026 figures.
Rank #2
EY’s 2025 progress report gives earlier context: it said additional time was required for matters including the timing and settlement of the claims portfolio and payments to preferential creditors. A lengthy claims process can also require administrators to preserve and review records, resolve disputes and establish what assets or liabilities belong to each company. The stated reasons explain why administration may continue; they do not show how much will ultimately be available for distribution.

Unsecured creditors
EY says that debts incurred before appointment are unsecured claims against the relevant company and that it does not expect payments to unsecured creditors. That is EY’s stated position on its administration page, not a guarantee about the outcome of every claim. A longer administration does not itself improve a creditor’s ranking or promise a recovery.
Rank #3
Preferential creditors and other claims
The 2026 report summary identifies creditor payments as one reason more time is needed, while EY’s 2025 report specifically referred to payments to preferential creditors. The summary reports HMRC and the Redundancy Payments Service as significant creditors, but those details are not independently verified in the primary 2026 material available here. The extension alone does not establish what any creditor will receive or when.
Suppliers and contractors
Suppliers and contractors should use the relevant company’s claim materials and FAQs on EY’s ISG administration page, and keep their own records of contracts, invoices, variations, correspondence and payments. The administration status of the specific company named on a contract matters; the eight companies are separate legal entities, so a claim against one should not be assumed to be a claim against another.

The reported extension is relevant to close-out, records and unresolved accounts, but it does not by itself decide what happens to a particular project or contract. For a live or incomplete project, identify the contracting ISG entity and establish who now holds the project records, outstanding certificates, warranties and payment information. Keep project documentation intact and seek advice based on the contract and the relevant company’s administration materials where entitlement or responsibility is disputed.
