DPR Construction ranked No. 3 in Engineering News-Record’s 2026 Top 100 Green Building Contractors list, rising from No. 4 in 2025. ENR credits DPR with 580 green-accredited staff and $4,962.89 million in 2025 green design revenue. The ranking is based on qualifying green-project revenue, not a general assessment of a contractor’s overall environmental performance.
What changed in DPR’s 2026 ranking
DPR’s move to third place places it behind Turner Construction Co. and AECOM and ahead of STO Building Group and Clark Group. ENR’s 2026 table ranks companies by revenue generated during 2025 from construction or design services on projects registered with or certified by recognized third-party organizations.

Because the table measures qualifying revenue, No. 3 does not mean DPR is the third-largest contractor overall. It is a position in a specific green-building ranking, using 2025 revenue data.
How ENR calculates the list
Revenue from qualifying projects
ENR counts revenue for construction or design services delivered in 2025 on projects registered with or certified by third-party organizations that measure environmental impact, energy efficiency or carbon footprint. Examples named by ENR include the U.S. Green Building Council and the Green Building Initiative.

What the calculation leaves out
Fee-only construction-management revenue is excluded. That rule means the ranking is not a tally of every dollar associated with sustainable work, nor is it a lifecycle carbon score, a certification of corporate conduct or an independent judgment about the environmental quality of each project.
What DPR reports about its green work
Revenue, projects and trained personnel
DPR’s 2025 Planet Pillar report rounds its 2025 green-project revenue to $5 billion and says that work represented 38.4% of the company’s total 2025 revenue. The report records 358 active green projects and 580 green-accredited professionals. ENR’s more precise table figure is $4,962.89 million in 2025 green design revenue; the two figures use different labels and levels of rounding, so they should not be treated as conflicting measurements.

Operational targets and reported emissions
The report says DPR continued working toward a 2030 Zero Waste goal. It also presents 2025 greenhouse-gas emissions totaling 64,527 in the report’s stated units. The zero-waste objective is a target, not a statement that the company has already eliminated waste across its operations.
Practices supporting DPR’s sustainability approach
Carbon and materials
DPR describes embodied-carbon life-cycle assessment, sustainable-material selection and lower-carbon material strategies. These methods help teams examine emissions associated with materials and construction choices rather than focusing only on energy use after a building opens.

Waste and resource planning
Its services include zero-waste planning and waste-reduction work. These efforts are intended to be integrated into project planning, procurement and field execution instead of treated as a final-stage diversion exercise.
Energy, equipment and fuels
DPR cites net-zero-energy “living labs,” pilots involving hybrid and electric equipment, and changes to fleet fuels. The company’s sustainability pages say it has built more than 300 LEED-certified projects and has more than 600 professionals trained to build and design LEED buildings.

Certification and owner support
The firm delivers LEED and WELL projects and says it supports customers after handover. That broader delivery model connects design decisions, construction practices, building performance and occupant health rather than limiting sustainability work to obtaining a certificate.

In a February 2026 release about its Silicon Valley office and prefabrication facility, DPR said its low-carbon concrete design reduced carbon emissions by 38%, avoiding more than 1,160 metric tons of carbon dioxide. The project was positioned to achieve at least Net Zero Energy, LEED Gold and WELL Gold. Those certifications were described as project objectives, not confirmed achievements in the release.
What the ranking says—and does not say
ENR’s result shows that DPR generated one of the industry’s largest volumes of qualifying green construction and design revenue in 2025, while its own reporting indicates that green projects formed a substantial share of total business. The ranking does not, by itself, compare project-level carbon intensity, waste diversion rates, post-occupancy energy performance or the quality of every company’s sustainability governance. Those questions require separate project and corporate data.
DPR’s global sustainability leader, Ryan Poole, described the company’s shift as moving from asking whether a project is “green” to asking how better environmental practices can be incorporated into every project. DPR also says sustainability concerns healthy spaces for people as well as environmental outcomes and depends on collaborative planning to achieve both affordably.
