Doka is supplying formwork systems and engineering services for Frankfurt’s 205 m Central Business Tower, where contractor Züblin is targeting a one-floor-a-week construction cycle. The target is not a reported, achieved rate: the plan depends on coordinating three climbing cores, just-in-time deliveries and hydraulic movement of formwork and materials on a space-constrained city-centre site.
How the tower’s core sequence is planned
Construction Briefing’s 6 October 2026 report says the tower has three high-rise cores. Züblin plans to build the north and south cores ahead of the central core, with the central core’s walls and slabs following between them. This staggered sequence is intended to coordinate work across the tower while maintaining the targeted weekly floor cycle.
The reported height is 205 m. Construction Briefing says the completed building would become Germany’s fifth-tallest; that is a forecast in the report, not a separately verified current ranking.
Moving materials on a tight city-centre site
The project is being built in central Frankfurt, where storage and assembly space is limited. Züblin site manager Tillmann Walz told Construction Briefing that close coordination with Doka was used to deliver formwork materials just in time so they could be put to use quickly. The report says this eased on-site material logistics.
#1 Best Overall
- JAHN A BRACKETS FOR CONCRETE FORMS: Secure plywood concrete forms, wall forms, foundation forms, and snap tie systems with heavy-duty Jahn A brackets designed for concrete forming and job-site formwork applications.
- SNAP TIE CLAMP / JOHNNY CLAMP DESIGN: Also known as Johnny clamps, these snap tie brackets are designed for use with snap ties and wedges to help hold concrete forms securely in place during wall and foundation pours.
- BUILT FOR HIGH-PRESSURE CONCRETE POURS: Heavy-duty steel construction provides reliable holding strength when concrete forms are under load, helping support form alignment and stability during demanding pours.
- HOT DIPPED GALVANIZED RUST RESISTANCE: Hot-dipped galvanized steel helps protect against rust and corrosion, making these concrete form clamps suitable for outdoor job sites, repeated use, and harsh construction conditions.
- REUSABLE CONCRETE FORM HARDWARE: Designed for repeated use across concrete forming projects, these Jahn A brackets are a practical choice for contractors, concrete crews, builders, and DIY formwork projects.
Doka’s Platform SCP and loading platforms are used for materials that cannot be stored on floor slabs. Hydraulic cylinders lift the platform, formwork and material containers to the next casting section in one operation. Placing materials closer to where they are needed reduces demand on cranes, helping support the planned construction sequence.
Adapting the protection screen to façade setbacks
The east and west façades step inward at levels 16, 29 and 41, according to Construction Briefing. The report names Doka’s Protection screen Xclimb 60 and says its arrangement was planned to move back with the façade as the tower narrows, with bracing in setback areas.

- 1-YEAR IRONCLAD WARRANTY: Built tough and backed for 12 full months against manufacturing defects under normal use. If it fails, we repair, replace, or refund. (Does not cover theft, vandalism, tampering, or misuse.)
- BUILT FOR FORMWORK STABILITY: Securely attaches vertical strongbacks to maintain alignment and structural integrity during concrete pours.
- HOT-DIP GALVANIZED FOR LONG-TERM USE: Thick zinc coating protects against rust, weather exposure, and harsh jobsite environments.
- COMPATIBLE WITH COMMON FORMING SYSTEMS: Works with single 2x4 studs, double 2x4 wales, and 8¼" L&W snap ties.
- SUPPORTS HORIZONTAL PLYWOOD JOINTS: Can be used with double wales to reinforce plywood seams.
Doka describes Xclimb 60 as a hydraulically climbing protection screen for enclosing upper building work areas. That general product information does not independently confirm its installation on this tower; the project-specific deployment is reported by Construction Briefing.
Using digital models to coordinate formwork operations
Construction Briefing says Doka engineers modelled the core-wall formwork in Revit. The work included beam and folding mechanisms, custom steel components, formwork operations and climbing sequences. The stated purpose was to identify potential clashes during installation and stripping before they disrupt work on site.

- CONSTRUCTION GRADE STRENGTH (REUSABLE): Made from cast malleable iron, this material is great for demanding construction jobs. Heavy duty enough to be used for multiple construction jobs.
- COMPATIBLE ROD SIZES: Compatible with smooth or deformed 1/4" rod to tie forms
- SAFE WORKING LOAD OF 1,125 LBS to preventing concrete forms from bulging or spreading under the weight of wet concrete.
- GREAT FOR A VARIETY OF CONCRETE FORMING JOBS: Used on all types of forming projects, especially suited for battered or curved wall applications.
- MULTIPLE NAIL HOLES: 3 total nail holes, each 3/16" in diameter, provides more options for securing the clamp to walers in different configurations.
Combining new construction with a restored historic building
The tower is designed by KSP Engel for Helaba and is being delivered by Züblin in a joint venture with Dobler Metallbau. The redevelopment incorporates the listed façade of a former bank building dated 1889–1892. Construction Briefing reports that the former banking hall and sandstone façade were dismantled and restored, and that the concrete core was renewed.
The project is targeting LEED Platinum. The report also describes photovoltaic panels integrated into the glass-and-metal façade as planned, and says they would be a first for Frankfurt’s financial district. These are project plans, not confirmation that the panels are complete or that certification has been awarded.

What the weekly-cycle claim establishes
The one-floor-a-week figure is Züblin’s target as reported by Construction Briefing, not a published measurement of construction output. The report describes the sequence and logistics intended to support that target but does not provide a measured cycle result. Doka’s references to the European Central Bank building and Taunusturm concern separate Frankfurt projects; neither verifies performance at the Central Business Tower.
