No verified official record found for Soilbuild Construction Group winning S$103 million of new contracts. The S$103 million figure appears in a historical prospectus as project backlog at 31 December 2021, not as a newly awarded-contract announcement. The closest matching current disclosure is an SGX announcement dated 11 February 2026 covering S$158 million of new contracts.

Did Soilbuild really win S$103 million of new contracts?

Not on the evidence currently available. Soilbuild’s official 2022 announcement archive records contract awards of S$140.4 million, S$55.2 million and S$14.2 million, but none matches a S$103 million new-award headline. A historical prospectus filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission does mention approximately S$103 million, but describes it as project backlog as at 31 December 2021.

Backlog and new awards are different measures. Backlog is work already secured but not yet completed or recognised as revenue at a specified date. A contract award is a new commitment obtained during a reporting period. Treating the former as the latter changes both the date and meaning of the company’s disclosure.

Where did the S$103 million Soilbuild figure come from?

The documented source is the historical prospectus, which reports approximately S$103 million of project backlog at 31 December 2021. That date and label are essential: the figure is a year-end work-in-hand balance, not evidence that S$103 million of contracts were signed in one announcement.

The official 2022 archive instead lists separate awards of S$140.4 million, S$55.2 million and S$14.2 million. The S$14.2 million item was a precast contract announced by Soilbuild in September 2022. Because the retrieved records do not identify a dated S$103 million award, the headline should not be published as a confirmed new-contract win without the original filing.

What contracts did Soilbuild win most recently?

The most recent matching announcement is an SGX filing dated 11 February 2026 for new contracts worth S$158 million. Business Times reported that the package comprises three main areas of work, with completion targets extending from late 2028 to early 2029.

Seletar West industrial facility

One project is an eight-storey multiple-user general-industry factory at Seletar West. Its scheduled completion is the first quarter of 2029. The multiple-user format indicates an industrial building designed for more than one occupier, but the announcement does not establish the project’s eventual tenants or operating performance.

Redhill public-housing precast work

Soilbuild also secured precast and prefabrication contracts connected with a public-housing project in Redhill. Completion is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2028.

Tuas dormitory precast work

A further precast and prefabrication contract relates to a dormitory project in Tuas, also targeted for completion in the fourth quarter of 2028. The public reports identify the locations and broad scope, but do not provide project-level margins.

How can a contract award change Soilbuild’s order book?

A new award normally adds the uncompleted portion of the contracted work to a builder’s order book, subject to the company’s accounting and disclosure policies. It improves visibility over future construction activity, but it does not mean the full contract value becomes revenue immediately.

Soilbuild’s 2024 annual report said its order book was approximately S$1.26 billion at the end of December 2024. The report also said revenue was S$391.8 million and net profit was S$26.6 million for FY2024. Those figures describe the financial year and year-end position; they should not be combined with the S$158 million award as if it were FY2026 revenue or profit.

The available announcement does not state expected margins, net profit contribution, cash-flow timing or a precise revised order-book total after the 2026 awards. Any estimate of earnings impact would therefore go beyond the disclosed facts.

What does Soilbuild Construction Group do?

Soilbuild is a Singapore construction group offering construction, design and build, turnkey construction, project-management consultancy, procurement, mechanical and electrical installation, and precast and prefabrication solutions. Its recent awards illustrate that mix: a complete industrial-building project alongside specialist precast and prefabrication work.

The FY2024 annual report also describes an Integrated Digital Delivery roadmap intended to extend digitalisation across construction processes. Executive Chairman Lim Chap Huat wrote: “With our order book increasing to more than S$1 billion during FY2024, it provides the Group with enhanced revenue visibility, giving more confidence in our growth and expansion that aligns with Singapore’s positive construction outlook ahead.”

Why is the distinction important for readers and investors?

Contract value, backlog, revenue and profit answer different questions. Contract value measures the stated size of an award; backlog measures secured work remaining at a date; revenue records work recognised under accounting rules; and profit depends on costs, variations, financing and other factors.

  • Use the S$103 million figure only with its qualification as approximately project backlog at 31 December 2021.
  • Use S$158 million for the verified 11 February 2026 new-contract announcement.
  • Do not infer a margin, earnings contribution or cash receipt schedule unless Soilbuild discloses one.
  • Check the original dated announcement before attributing any other S$103 million award to the group.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the S$158 million figure a one-year revenue forecast for Soilbuild?

No. It is the announced value of newly secured contracts. Revenue will be recognised as qualifying work is performed over the projects’ delivery periods, rather than all at the announcement date.

When are the projects in the 2026 award expected to finish?

The Seletar West factory is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2029. The Redhill public-housing and Tuas dormitory precast projects are each scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2028.

Does the S$103 million backlog prove Soilbuild received a S$103 million award in 2021?

No. A backlog balance can contain work awarded across multiple contracts and earlier periods. The prospectus identifies the amount as backlog at 31 December 2021, not as a single award made that year.

What should be checked before quoting Soilbuild’s order book after the 2026 announcement?

Look for the company’s next official filing or results statement that gives the updated order-book balance. The announcement value alone does not establish how much prior backlog was completed, cancelled, varied or reclassified.
