David Redfern joined CarbonCure Technologies’ Board of Directors, the company announced on October 7, 2026. CarbonCure says his senior leadership across aggregates, concrete, cement, and construction materials—and his previous exposure to its carbon-mineralization technology—will help guide its growth.
Who is David Redfern?
CarbonCure describes Redfern as a construction-materials executive with more than three decades of leadership experience in North America and global markets. The company cites expertise in supply chains, supplementary cementitious materials, circular-economy initiatives, mineralization technologies, and industrial decarbonization.

Amrize
Most recently, Redfern served as President of North America Aggregates & Construction Materials for Amrize. CarbonCure says he led the creation of a unified North American platform during the separation and public listing of Holcim’s North American business.
Lafarge Canada
Previously, he was President and Country CEO for Eastern Canada at Lafarge Canada, leading its integrated construction-materials business. CarbonCure says he advanced digital transformation and testing of lower-carbon solutions, including carbon mineralization.

Industry and advisory work
CarbonCure identifies Redfern as a former Chairman of the Cement Association of Canada, where he advanced industry collaboration around the Concrete Zero Roadmap. The company also says he founded Kyverra Group in 2025 to advise boards, investors, and industrial companies on market transformation, growth strategies, and technology adoption.
Why did Redfern join CarbonCure’s board?
CarbonCure CEO Yuliya Kravtsov said Redfern’s experience commercializing and operationally leading new building-material solutions is relevant to the company’s expansion. “His background in the commercialization and operational leadership of new building material solutions makes him especially well-positioned to guide our growth across global markets.”

Redfern also brings prior familiarity with the technology. He said he encountered it while at Lafarge Canada, early in its development: “That gives me a first-hand perspective on how much CarbonCure and its tech have matured.”

What does CarbonCure do?
CarbonCure’s technology is designed for concrete producers, not individual consumers. The company says it injects captured carbon dioxide (CO₂) into concrete mixes, where the gas mineralizes. According to CarbonCure, this process enables producers to use less cement in a batch.
Redfern summarized the potential producer benefits as: “Maintain the quality and performance customers expect; lower material costs and embodied carbon; create new revenue opportunities.” Those are stated benefits, not quantified results in the announcement; it does not report a comparative study or establish the amount of cost or embodied-carbon reduction.

In its October 7, 2026 announcement, CarbonCure said nearly 12 million truckloads had been produced using its technology and described a network of sustainability-focused concrete producers and industry partners in more than two dozen countries. These are company-reported figures, not independently verified here.
