A countertop dishwasher with a built-in water tank can work without a permanent water connection, but tank size alone does not tell you whether a model will fit your dishes, counter, or routine. Compare the exact model’s reservoir and hookup options, usable capacity, dimensions, wash and drying features, and locally available service. Manufacturer specifications provide useful examples, but they do not establish which dishwasher cleans best or lasts longest.
How a built-in water tank affects installation
A reservoir lets you add water manually instead of relying on a permanent supply line. Some models also support a faucet connection, so a tank does not automatically mean a unit can only be used one way. Check the instructions for the exact model before buying: faucet adapters, hoses, and installation requirements are model-specific.
For example, Midea describes the MDC17P4CWW as supporting manual filling or a faucet connection using the included adapter and hose. Its product page lists a 5 L built-in tank. Compare the models by the details that affect daily use
The following figures come from manufacturer product pages, not independent comparative tests. Check the exact model and regional variant, and confirm ambiguous specifications in its current manual.

Check fit and usable capacity—not just the reservoir
Before choosing a unit, measure the available counter area and clearance above it, including room to open the door and load dishes. Then compare the dishwasher’s interior capacity with the dishes you actually use: place-setting counts do not guarantee that a particular plate, bowl, or pan will fit. Confirm maximum dish dimensions in the model’s manual when available.

- Confirm whether a listed capacity is the water reservoir, dish capacity, or another specification before comparing numbers.
Assess cycles, drying, noise, and water-use claims
Program count is only one feature to compare. Midea lists five wash programs and an auto-opening door for the MDC17P4CWW; AIRMSEN lists eight programs for the TDQR09. Those counts do not show how thoroughly either model cleans, how long a cycle takes, or how dry dishes will be at the end. Check the available cycle names and durations, drying design, and instructions for the exact unit.
Likewise, treat noise and water-use numbers as manufacturer specifications rather than independently verified comparisons. AIRMSEN states 1.2 gallons per hour for the TDQR09, but the cited page does not establish a basis that makes the figure directly comparable with a per-cycle figure. HAVA states 5 L per cycle for the R09 whether supplied from its tank or a tap. These are different reporting bases; do not compare them as if they measured the same thing.
