Who built the Mullewa Community Hospital?
WA-owned and operated EMCO Building was awarded the main-works contract. A November 2025 project milestone reported that slab pours were complete and structural-steel installation was the next major construction activity. The completed facility followed local community consultation and is intended to replace the ageing Mullewa Hospital.

Will Mullewa have 24/7 emergency care and dialysis?
The planned model includes a 24/7 emergency department, with one acute bay and one resuscitation bay, together with a dedicated community dialysis space. Those are planned capabilities of the completed building; day-to-day availability will depend on commissioning and the service arrangements in place when the facility opens.
What remains on the site?
Commissioning and the move into the new building are still outstanding. Demolition of the old hospital and other remaining project works are expected in early 2027. Health Infrastructure Minister John Carey said the project had reached practical completion “in a little over a year” and would shortly open its doors. Health Minister Meredith Hammat said the facility was designed around the needs of Mullewa and the wider Mid West, highlighting the dedicated dialysis space as a way to help residents access treatment without travelling away from home.
