Verdict: Derila Ergo is a contoured memory-foam pillow with a manufacturer-listed 12 cm height, washable removable cover and position-specific instructions. It may suit someone who likes a shaped foam pillow, but the available evidence does not establish that this particular product relieves neck, shoulder or back pain, improves sleep, prevents snoring or corrects spinal alignment.
What the Derila Ergo is
Derila Ergo is presented by its manufacturer as a shaped memory-foam pillow. Its fixed contour is intended to position the head and neck differently from a flat pillow. The official guide documents one standard size:

| Specification | Manufacturer-listed detail |
|---|---|
| Standard dimensions | 54 × 36 × 12 cm (21.2 × 14.1 × 4.7 in) |
| Delivery format | Vacuum packed |
| Expansion time | Leave it for 6–8 hours to regain its normal shape after unpacking |
| Core | Memory foam, described by the manufacturer as breathable |
| Cover | Removable and machine washable, according to the manufacturer |
These specifications apply to the standard version documented in the official guide. Other Derila products or market-specific versions may have different dimensions, so a listing should be checked before purchase.
How the manufacturer says to position it
The contour is not a universal prescription. The guide gives different placement directions for each sleeping position:

People who change position
The manufacturer also addresses sleepers who move between positions. In practice, a fixed contour can feel different as you rotate, so comfort and neutral neck positioning need to be assessed in each position rather than assumed from the product description.
Materials, cooling and cleaning
The manufacturer describes a breathable memory-foam construction and a cooling cover, with airflow intended to help maintain a comfortable temperature. Those are manufacturer claims; the sources reviewed do not provide an independent, controlled temperature test or a verified cooling percentage for Derila Ergo.
The removable cover is documented as machine washable. The guide does not say that the foam core can be washed. Remove only the cover for laundering and follow the current care label for water temperature, drying and detergent instructions.

What clinical evidence says—and does not say
A 2021 systematic review and meta-analysis examined pillow designs and neck-related outcomes. It included 35 articles; nine higher-quality studies covered 555 participants. Across pillow types, the pooled result favored rubber pillows for neck pain (standardized mean difference −0.263; P < 0.001), and the authors reported favorable waking-pain, disability and satisfaction outcomes for rubber and spring pillows.
However, the review did not test Derila Ergo. It also found no significant effect of pillow design on sleep quality in patients with chronic neck pain: “Pillow designs did not influence sleep quality (SMD = 0.047; P = 0.703),” the review authors reported. Category-level findings cannot be converted into a Derila-specific claim that the pillow treats pain or improves sleep.
Accordingly, there is no established product-specific clinical evidence in the reviewed material that Derila Ergo:

Use the same criteria for Derila Ergo and any competing pillow, including products found under the generic category phrase “ergonomic contour memory-foam pillow.” That phrase describes a product category; it does not verify that the exact Derila Ergo is listed by a particular retailer.
| Criterion | Questions to ask |
|---|---|
| Contour and shape | Do you want a fixed contoured form, or would a flat, wave-shaped or adjustable surface be easier to adapt to? |
| Height and fit | Does the documented 12 cm overall height leave your neck level with your spine for your mattress and shoulder width? |
| Sleeping position | Can you use the contour comfortably when side, back or stomach sleeping, including after you turn at night? |
| Material and care | Is memory foam acceptable to you, and is the removable cover’s washing routine practical? Do not assume the foam core is washable. |
| Evidence | Are you evaluating comfort and fit, or is a seller implying a medical outcome that has not been demonstrated for this product? |
Practical setup checklist
- Remove the vacuum-packed pillow from its packaging.
- Allow 6–8 hours for it to return to its normal shape before judging its height or feel.
- Try the manufacturer’s placement for your usual sleeping position.
- Check whether your head and neck remain comfortably aligned when you lie on your normal mattress.
- If you change positions overnight, test each position rather than relying on the first comfortable impression.
- Keep the foam core dry and launder only the removable cover according to its care label.
Who may find it worth considering
Derila Ergo is most relevant to shoppers who specifically want a non-adjustable, contoured memory-foam pillow and are prepared to judge it by personal fit. Its documented size, position guidance and removable cover make the basic specifications clear.

It is a less suitable choice if you need a precisely adjustable loft, dislike the feel of memory foam, require independently verified cooling performance or are buying it as a proven treatment for a medical condition. Those needs call for a different product feature or professional advice, not a stronger interpretation of the marketing claims.
Bottom line
Derila Ergo is a clearly specified contoured memory-foam comfort product: 54 × 36 × 12 cm in the standard guide, vacuum packed, and supplied with a removable machine-washable cover. The manufacturer provides useful positioning instructions and describes breathable foam and cooling features, but those comfort and cooling statements have not been independently validated in the reviewed sources. Research on pillow designs offers mixed, category-level findings and no Derila Ergo trial. Buy it for the contour and fit you want—not as a clinically proven solution for pain or sleep problems.
