The Classy Coaster Set Woodworking Plan describes a set of coasters with a matching holder, built from contrasting woods and fitted with cork inserts. WoodworkersWorkshop lists cherry and ash as its examples, while noting that contrasting scrap wood can also be used. The plan, credited to Kevin Boyle and listed as published in 2011, is sold in paper and downloadable PDF formats.
What the plan makes
The project is a coordinated set of coasters and a holder. Its design pairs contrasting wood with a cork insert intended to absorb condensation and help protect tabletops. The seller says the plan includes building instructions and finishing guidelines.
What materials do you need?
WoodworkersWorkshop identifies cherry and ash as the woods used in the example project, but says other contrasting scrap wood can work. Cork is also part of the design. The listing does not state exact quantities, dimensions, cork thickness, adhesive, tools, or a specific finish, so check the plan itself for project-specific details before buying materials.
- Wood: contrasting pieces, with cherry and ash as the listed examples; suitable contrasting offcuts are an option.
- Cork: an insert is described as part of each coaster design, but its size and specification are not provided in the listing.
