Roborock introduced three conventional robot vacuums at CES 2026: the Saros 20, Saros 20 Sonic, and Qrevo Curv 2 Flow. It also demonstrated the Saros Rover, a wheel-leg robot designed to climb and clean stairs. The three floor-cleaning models were listed for purchase in Roborock’s U.S. store as of August 18, 2026; the Rover had no verified U.S. price, consumer release date, or standard retail order page.
That distinction matters. The Saros 20 models and Qrevo Curv 2 Flow are buying decisions today. The Saros Rover is an intriguing preview of where robot vacuums may go, but it should not yet be treated as a replacement for a handheld vacuum—or as a product you can confidently order.

The headline-grabbing Saros Rover was announced separately as a robotic vacuum using what Roborock calls a wheel-leg architecture. Roborock says its wheel-legs can lift, lower, and reposition the machine over uneven surfaces, including stairs and slopes. Its CES announcement presents it as a stair-capable robotic vacuum, but the available official information does not establish a normal consumer launch.
Roborock Saros 20: the threshold specialist
The Saros 20 is the most obvious choice for homes where ordinary robot vacuums get stuck on awkward transitions between rooms. Its AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0 is designed to raise and adapt the robot’s body as it crosses floor transitions.
- Claimed suction: 36,000 Pa.
- Single threshold: up to 4.5 cm, or about 1.77 inches, according to Roborock.
- Double-layer threshold: approximately 8.5 cm, or about 3.46 inches, under specified test conditions.
- Navigation: StarSight Autonomous System 2.0.
- Hair management: dual anti-tangle system.
- Low-clearance cleaning: Roborock’s product page lists operation in spaces around 7.95 cm, or 3.13 inches, high.
- Dock: RockDock multifunctional station.
The double-threshold number needs careful reading. Roborock’s disclosed test geometry includes a first threshold no higher than 1.77 inches, a gap of roughly 4.72 to 5.51 inches, and a second threshold no higher than approximately 1.69 inches. It is not a universal rating saying the robot can climb any isolated 3.46-inch obstacle. Surface material, angle, spacing, and shape can change the result. See Roborock’s Saros 20 specifications for the company’s conditions.
In practical terms, the Saros 20 is a floor-transition robot, not a stair-climbing robot. It may be valuable in homes with raised tracks, thick doorway saddles, or split-level transitions, but a threshold claim does not establish the ability to ascend a sequence of stair risers.

- 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗽𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗨𝗹𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - Intelligently identifies carpets and lifts mopping modules to avoid wetting, while automatically increasing suction power for deeper cleaning. This ensures effective dirt removal and a cleaner home without compromising delicate surfaces.
Saros 20 Sonic: similar platform, different mopping system
The Saros 20 Sonic shares the Saros 20’s central platform features, including AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0, 36,000 Pa claimed suction, dual anti-tangle hardware, and a multifunctional RockDock. Its principal distinction is VibraRise 5.0, Roborock’s vibrating mop system.
At the observed U.S. price, the Sonic model cost about $100 more than the standard Saros 20. That premium makes the choice less about basic navigation and more about mopping preference:
- Choose the Saros 20 Sonic if a vibrating mop is the feature you specifically want for hard-floor cleaning.
- Choose the standard Saros 20 if threshold handling, navigation, and low-clearance access matter more than the Sonic configuration.
Roborock’s specifications do not by themselves prove that the Sonic cleans every type of floor better overall. Suction figures and branded mopping systems are manufacturer claims, not independent comparative test results.

Roborock claims the Curv 2 Flow delivers a 2.5-times increase in mopping pressure compared with the previous Qrevo Curv. The company’s comparison uses the earlier model’s stated 6N pressure and reports 15N for the newer robot under its own testing. That is a manufacturer comparison, not an independent laboratory finding.
- Mop: SpiraFlow roller system with real-time self-cleaning.
- Roller width: claimed 270 mm.
- Dock: multifunctional dock.
- Price: $999.99 observed list price, with some official-store snapshots showing a temporary $799.99 price.
The Curv 2 Flow is attractive when roller-mop cleaning and a lower purchase price matter more than the Saros 20’s most aggressive published threshold-handling claims. Before purchasing, verify the cost and availability of replacement rollers, mop components, dust bags, filters, and cleaning solution.
Saros 20 vs. Saros 20 Sonic vs. Qrevo Curv 2 Flow
The products overlap in the premium market, but they are not simply three versions of the same robot.
Recommended Free Tools
| If your priority is… | Start with… | Why |
|---|---|---|
| High or complicated floor thresholds | Saros 20 | It has the clearest published focus on aggressive threshold transitions. |

The 10mm lift feature allows it to seamlessly transition to low-pile carpets, ensuring no wet messes and complete cleaning versatility.
What is the Saros Rover?
The Saros Rover is Roborock’s attempt to address the biggest physical limitation of conventional robot vacuums: stairs. Instead of relying only on wheels, the demonstrated robot uses wheel-legs that can change position and lift the body over uneven terrain.
Roborock says the design is intended to navigate stairs and slopes while cleaning stair steps as it moves between floors. The CES unit moved slowly and deliberately during its demonstration. The Associated Press reported Roborock’s claim that the Rover could handle almost any style of stairwell, including curved and spiral stairs, but that remains a company claim rather than independently established performance. (AP coverage.)
The crucial buying fact is that the Rover was demonstrated, not presented with the normal details shoppers need. The reviewed official material did not provide a verified U.S. retail price, consumer release date, battery specification, maintenance schedule, or final production specification.
Can the Saros Rover really vacuum stairs?
Roborock says it can clean stairs as it climbs. That is different from proving that it will reliably clean every staircase in a consumer home.

Important unanswered questions include:
- What tread depth and riser height will the production model require?
- How will it perform on carpet, wet surfaces, narrow treads, landings, and clutter?
- Can it clean stair edges, corners, and risers rather than merely traveling over the steps?
- Can it safely handle open-riser, floating, curved, or spiral stairs?
- What happens if traction is lost?
- Can it return to a dock, empty its bin, refill water, and clean its mop without human help?
- Can it maintain maps across multiple floors and resume a cleaning run after changing levels?
A successful showroom demonstration does not answer those questions. A stair robot would also need dependable fall prevention, traction sensing, obstacle detection, and safe behavior around children and pets. Until Roborock publishes production specifications and independent testing becomes available, the Rover is best described as a future product or technology demonstration—not a confirmed replacement for a handheld or stick vacuum.
Should you buy now or wait?
Buy now if you need routine cleaning immediately
For a home with ordinary floors, buy according to the problem you actually have:
- Choose the Saros 20 for difficult thresholds, raised tracks, low furniture, and flagship automation.
- Choose the Saros 20 Sonic if VibraRise 5.0 is worth the roughly $100 premium to you.
- Choose the Qrevo Curv 2 Flow if you want the newer roller-mop approach at a substantially lower observed price and do not need the Saros 20’s threshold claims.
For a multilevel home, a second conventional robot on another floor may be more predictable than waiting for an unpriced stair-climbing machine. You would still need a handheld or stick vacuum for the stairs themselves, but the arrangement is available now and has established support and warranty channels.
Wait if stairs are the reason you are upgrading
If the central problem is carrying a robot between floors or manually vacuuming a staircase, waiting is reasonable—but only if you are comfortable with an unknown launch date, price, production design, and real-world performance. Do not buy one of the conventional models expecting a software update to make it stair-capable; their chassis designs are intended for floor transitions, not staircases.
U.S. availability, prices, and ownership checks
As of August 18, 2026, Roborock’s U.S. store showed “Buy Now” options for the Saros 20, Saros 20 Sonic, and Qrevo Curv 2 Flow. The observed prices were $1,599.99, $1,699.99, and $999.99 respectively, although some official-store snapshots listed the Curv 2 Flow at $799.99 during a promotion.
Before placing an order, confirm:
- That the exact configuration is in stock.
- Whether the seller is Roborock or an authorized retailer.
- Return and warranty terms at checkout.
- Availability of replacement rollers or mop pads, dust bags, filters, brushes, and cleaning solution.
- Whether the product is supported in your country and power region.
Roborock warns that availability varies by region, so U.S. listings should not be treated as proof of availability in Canada, the U.K., Europe, Australia, or mainland China. Its official deals page has also advertised financing, a one-year limited warranty, 30-day price protection, and other benefits, but terms can change and should be checked before purchase.
Bottom line
CES 2026 produced two separate Roborock stories. The Saros 20, Saros 20 Sonic, and Qrevo Curv 2 Flow are conventional robot vacuums that were listed for U.S. purchase, each aimed at a different balance of threshold handling, mopping design, navigation, and price. The Saros Rover is the more important long-term idea: a wheel-leg robot demonstrated climbing and cleaning stairs. But without confirmed retail details and real-world validation, it is still a preview—not a product to plan a purchase around today.
