CeiliX’s SkyRunner is the moving carrier in its InfinityCrane system—not the name of the entire crane. Modular ceiling-mounted rails guide the carrier through an overhead work area. CeiliX describes omnidirectional travel, including diagonal movement and routes around obstacles, while the reviewed product and partner sources do not provide independent performance or safety measurements.
What are SkyRunner and InfinityCrane?
CeiliX uses InfinityCrane for the broader overhead system and SkyRunner for the carrier that travels on it. The company’s brochure describes modular “CeiliX Elements” forming the rail structure, turning the ceiling plane into a path for moving loads. CeiliX’s product brochure presents the system as adaptable to a work area, but project-specific rail layouts and engineering details must come from the supplier or integrator.
How does the carrier move?
CeiliX says the SkyRunner can move forward, backward, sideways, and diagonally within the overhead rail layout, and can be routed around obstacles such as columns or cables. The brochure summarizes the concept: “The CeiliX InfinityCrane enables omnidirectional, unrestricted movement along the ceiling.” That describes movement within the installed system; it should not be read as movement beyond the rails or as proof that every building layout can be accommodated.
The SkyRunner250 section describes manual movement in the x and y directions. It also identifies optional attachment points for hoisting equipment and load-handling equipment. The reviewed sources do not identify compatible hoist brands or models, so a chain hoist or other lifting device should not be assumed compatible without confirmation of its interface and rating.

For a proposed installation, request the rated capacity and operating limits for the complete configuration in writing. The reviewed sources do not show the engineering calculations behind multi-carrier loads.
Can multiple carriers work together?
CeiliX says multiple InfinityCranes can be used in one space and describes rotating or pivoting suspended objects. CIEM Group also presents collaborative operation as a capability. CIEM Group’s Infinity Cranes page Neither source specifies operating conditions or a combined load rating. Ask the integrator how coordinated movement, load sharing, and the limits of each carrier are engineered for the proposed task.

What benefits are established—and what is not?
CeiliX says overhead operation can reduce hazardous ground traffic and improve operational safety. Keeping loads moving above the work area may be relevant where floor-level routes are constrained, but the reviewed materials contain no independent injury, productivity, or floor-space measurements. Treat these as manufacturer-stated benefits rather than quantified outcomes.
CIEM describes an engineered service that can include design, specification, installation, and support. CIEM Group’s CeiliX-Bot page For construction teams, the practical question is not whether the system is categorically better than a bridge crane, gantry, or conveyor; the available sources do not provide a like-for-like comparison. It is whether an engineered ceiling-rail layout suits the building and task.

Questions to resolve before specifying a system
- Route: Can the planned rail layout reach each required work point and route around the actual columns, services, or other obstructions?
- Building: What ceiling structure and attachment details are required, and who is responsible for verifying them?
- Load: What is the rated capacity for each carrier and for the complete configuration, including the selected lifting and load-handling attachments?
- Equipment: Which hoists and attachments are approved for the relevant SkyRunner model, and what are their individual interface and load limits?
- Operation: Is manual movement sufficient, or does the task need coordinated carriers or automation? The sources reviewed do not set out a complete operating specification.
- Installation and expansion: How will installation, commissioning, future rail changes, and any additional carriers be engineered and supported?
- Safety: What project-specific risk assessment, operating controls, and applicable safety engineering are required?
Request drawings, compatibility information, and project-specific engineering data from CeiliX or an authorized integrator before selecting a hoist, assigning a system load, or comparing the system with other material-handling equipment.
