The Canadian Construction Association’s (CCA) Day 2 hospital spotlight was scheduled to examine how major healthcare infrastructure is planned and delivered—not clinical care itself. The session focused on the Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital and Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children, with collaborative delivery, project governance, construction practices, complexity and patient-centred outcomes on the agenda.
What the Day 2 session covered
The CCA’s Best Practices in Construction Symposium took place in Toronto on October 6–7, 2026, at the Marriott Eaton Centre. The hospital project spotlight was scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, from 08:45 to 09:45 in the Grand Ballroom. Its published title was “Major project spotlight – The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital and Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children: Building the future of Canadian healthcare.” CCA’s symposium program framed the session around planning and delivering public infrastructure at scale, with particular attention to construction practices, collaborative delivery models, governance, complexity and patient-centred outcomes.
