A sit-stand desk can make it easier to change position during computer work, but it is not a proven fatigue treatment. OSHA advises varying posture and avoiding prolonged sitting or standing. The available sources do not confirm which TACKLIFE desk this title refers to—or whether a TACKLIFE-branded model is currently available—so the practical guidance below applies to electric standing desks generally, not to verified TACKLIFE specifications.
Does a standing desk help with fatigue at work?
It may help make posture changes possible, but the benefit depends on how the workstation is used. OSHA recommends changing working position frequently, including doing some tasks while standing. Its guidance also cautions against staying in one posture for prolonged periods. A desk that simply replaces prolonged sitting with prolonged standing misses the point.
There is some workplace research on sit-stand interventions, but it should not be treated as a product-specific promise. A CDC-published report on the Take-a-Stand Project described reduced sitting time and upper-back and neck pain during an intervention. The project was small, nonrandomized, and based on self-reported data; its authors cautioned that causality could not be assumed. It does not establish that a TACKLIFE desk reduces fatigue.
What the workplace study reported
The Take-a-Stand Project took place in Minneapolis from March to May 2011 and was published in CDC’s journal Preventing Chronic Disease in 2012. The report recorded 224% more nonsitting behavior by experience sampling and 66 fewer minutes of sitting per day by survey, described as a 16.1% reduction in sedentary time. It also reported a 54% reduction in upper-back and neck pain and improved mood states. When the device was removed, observed improvements were largely negated within two weeks. These are outcomes from that project, not expected results for every worker or desk. Read the CDC report.

Can standing at a desk all day make you tired?
Yes. Static standing can cause muscle fatigue and discomfort, including in the lower extremities. OSHA states: “Continuously standing in one position causes muscle fatigue and pooling of blood in the lower extremities.” Possible supports include a sit/stand stool, an anti-fatigue mat, cushioned shoes, or a foot-rest bar. These are ways to address standing discomfort, not evidence that standing longer is beneficial. OSHA’s lower-extremity guidance describes these options.
How should you alternate between sitting and standing?
Use the desk to change position when it feels comfortable and appropriate for the task. The cited OSHA guidance recommends frequent position changes but does not prescribe a universal sit/stand schedule. Avoid treating a particular ratio or timer as a rule for everyone.

When seated or standing, aim for a neutral working posture. OSHA’s computer-workstation guidance recommends keeping hands, wrists, and forearms straight and roughly parallel to the floor; shoulders relaxed; elbows near the body; and head level and aligned with the torso. Stand for some tasks and periodically stand up and walk around. Keep frequently used items within easy reach, and vary tasks or take recovery pauses where possible. See OSHA’s posture guidance and its workstation evaluation checklist.
