If you are traveling near Manhattan’s Broadway
The listed restriction is limited to the block of Broadway between West 47th and West 48th Streets, overnight. It is not a closure of Broadway across Manhattan. The advisory attributes the work to a mobile crane and manlift needed for facade and signage work.

If you are traveling through San Francisco’s Broadway Tunnel
SFMTA’s update concerns construction in the Broadway Tunnel, not the Manhattan street block. It tentatively scheduled a full tunnel closure for 7 a.m. Saturday, August 15, through 5 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2026. The update also describes subsequent directional closure phases expected to last about seven months each, with one lane in each direction available in the open bore.

The SFMTA update provides local detour routes and advises travelers to use alternate routes early to reduce congestion. Consult the update for the route relevant to your direction and verify the schedule before setting out: the initial full-closure timing is expressly tentative, and construction schedules can change.
