What the Cambridge records establish
Cambridge City Council’s Housing Scrutiny Committee considered redevelopment of Ekin Road and Ekin Walk, along with a proposed transfer of land for that purpose, on 18 June 2024. The council material identifies the locations and records a discussion of redevelopment; it does not establish that planning permission was granted.

Residents raised concerns about damp, mould and condensation in connection with homes at Ekin Road. These are concerns recorded in council proceedings, not evidence that every home was affected or an independent assessment of the buildings’ condition.

Council meeting records also address rehousing priority and support for residents affected by redevelopment. They show that these matters were discussed and proposed, but do not confirm that every household has moved or establish the current rehousing programme.

The records located do not provide a planning application reference or decision, approved drawings, a description of an approved scheme, replacement-home numbers, tenure details or a completion timetable. Without the formal planning record, it is not possible to say what BPTW was authorised to build, when work might proceed, or how delivery would be phased.
