Power and weather resistance
Each camera uses two 1.5V lithium AA non-rechargeable batteries. Blink estimates up to two years of battery life with default settings and says actual life varies with settings, use, and environment. Blink lists an operating temperature range of -4°F to 113°F and an IP65 weather-resistance rating; neither figure guarantees performance in every installation.
Motion features and coverage
Blink lists improved low-light vision and enhanced motion detection. Person Detection requires an active plan or trial. Extended Range is available with a Sync Module XR in the US and Canada; actual wireless coverage can vary with building materials, interference, environment, and accessories.

Blink says Person Detection’s computer-vision processing is performed on the device rather than Blink servers. That statement applies to this feature and should not be read as a broader independent assessment of the system’s privacy or security.

Plan for the Sync Module and setup
Outdoor 4 requires a Sync Module to connect to home Wi-Fi. You can add it to an existing Blink system if you have a compatible module. If the bundle does not include one and you do not already own one, factor that separate purchase into the upfront cost.
- Install the Blink app and create an account.
- Connect a Sync Module before adding the Outdoor 4 cameras.
- Use the app to add each camera to the system and follow its setup prompts.

Account for subscriptions and ongoing costs
Blink’s Outdoor 4 FAQ says a new camera comes with a 30-day Plus plan trial. After the trial, cloud storage and premium features require a selected Basic or Plus plan. Feature availability can depend on plan, so confirm which capabilities matter to you before treating the bundle price as the full cost of ownership.

Accessories and installation details
Blink lists a separately sold Weather-Resistant Power Adapter and silicone skins for Outdoor 4 in the US and Canada. Verify the exact model and current availability before ordering. A Battery Extension Pack is also available for Outdoor 4 and Outdoor 2K+ cameras; it accepts four AA 1.5V lithium batteries. Blink says attaching it blocks the camera’s USB-C power socket and covers its serial/QR label, so record the serial number first if you use the pack.
Manufacturer-listed US dimensions are 2.76 × 2.76 × 1.61 inches, and weight is 5 ounces. Allow for the mounting location, Wi-Fi conditions, and access for battery replacement when choosing placement.
