They are not interchangeable. Most importantly, the US Stove TK-02BWS is a humidifier, not a drinking-water or cooking kettle; its manual explicitly rules out both uses.
First decide what you need the kettle to do
Choose by intended use and approved heat source—not simply by words such as “wood stove,” “camp,” or “stainless steel.”

For indoor humidity: US Stove TK-02BWS
The TK-02BWS is an all-cast-iron, 3-quart steamer kettle intended to add humidity when placed on a wood or coal stove top that is porcelainized or rust-proofed. The manual does not establish compatibility with every stove surface or model, so check both manufacturers’ documentation for your particular stove and kettle.
This product is not suitable for cooking or any other purpose, and the water in it is not for human consumption. If you want water to pour into a teapot, choose a kettle explicitly intended for potable water and approved for the heat source you plan to use; the TK-02BWS is not that product.

Handling and refill instructions
- Do not heat the kettle without water; the manual warns that doing so can damage it.
- Keep it below 90% full.
- Hot surfaces and boiling water can burn. Refill slowly.
- Remove it from the stove and let it cool before refilling.
These instructions are specific to the TK-02BWS. Follow the current manual for any other model.
For outdoor wood-fired boiling: Kelly Kettle
Kelly Kettle describes outdoor kettles in stainless steel and anodized aluminium, in 0.6 L, 1.2 L, and 1.6 L sizes. The product page lists a stainless-steel fire base, carry bag, whistle, instructions, and a limited warranty. Those are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent comparative performance results.

Use the kettle with its fire base
The manufacturer’s directions call for filling the kettle while leaving its water spout unobstructed, lighting a small fire in the base, and feeding dry fuel through the chimney. When the water boils, lift the kettle clear of the base before pouring. See Kelly Kettle Australia’s instructions for the operating procedure. This system is designed for outdoor use with its base, not as an indoor humidifier placed on a stove.
For camp stoves: check the burner restrictions
OXO Camp Stove Kettle
OXO describes this stainless-steel kettle as suitable for gas, electric, and induction camp or regular stoves, and gives it a retractable handle. The manufacturer explicitly says it is not for open flame. Do not use it directly over a wood fire on the assumption that stainless steel makes it suitable.

Sea to Summit Detour Stainless Steel Collapsible Kettle
Sea to Summit’s warnings limit this kettle to camp-style stoves with pot supports or induction cooktops, recommend low-to-medium heat, and note that the handle and lid can become hot. A collapsible construction or stainless-steel components do not override those restrictions; follow the instructions for the exact product.

- Set the job: decide whether you need room humidification, outdoor wood-fired boiling, or a kettle for a camp-stove burner.
- Match the heat source: check the manufacturer’s stated compatibility. An indoor wood stove, open wood fire, camp stove, and induction cooktop are different applications.
- Confirm intended water use: if you plan to drink the water, do not use a product whose manual excludes human consumption.
- Compare practical specifications: consider usable capacity, materials, included components, portability, and care and handling instructions within the same product category.
- Check model-specific documentation: verify the current product instructions and stove compatibility before use, particularly where the stove surface or local potable-water requirements matter.
The available manufacturer information does not establish comparative boil times, fuel efficiency, humidification rates, or health effects, so those should not be assumed when choosing among these products.
