A stick vacuum with a powered brush can help lift dirt and hair from floors, but “motor brush” is a broad label—not a guarantee of equal performance. Compare the actual brush design, your floor types, runtime in the mode you’ll use, and the included tools. The models below offer useful points of comparison; the available specifications do not establish one universal best vacuum.
What to compare before choosing a motorized-brush stick vacuum
Brush design and hair maintenance
Manufacturers use different names for powered heads, including tangle-free brush rolls, self-cleaning PowerFins nozzles, and powered sense brushes. Those labels describe different designs and should not be treated as proof that the vacuums clean equally well or need no maintenance. Check how the brush is intended to handle hair and what the manual says about clearing wrapped debris.
Floor mix and maneuverability
For carpet, look for information on how the powered head engages carpet and whether the vacuum offers useful power settings. For mostly hard floors, check whether the head is designed to avoid scattering debris and whether an alternate soft roller is available. Weight, steering, and reach under furniture matter too, but the product specifications cited here do not provide comparable measurements for those factors.
Runtime, filtration, capacity, and tools
Runtime depends on power mode, attachment, and configuration. A maximum figure measured using a hand vacuum or low-power setting is not a reliable estimate of cleaning time with a powered floor head in a stronger mode. Compare filtration claims alongside their stated test basis, then consider bin capacity, included pet-hair or upholstery tools, battery needs, and the availability of compatible replacement filters and brush accessories.

Models with powered brush features to compare
These are examples with manufacturer-listed features, not a ranked test. Confirm the current bundle, model number, and included accessories before buying.
| Model | Brush and floor features | Runtime and other listed specifications | Useful buying check |
|---|---|---|---|
| BISSELL PowerClean Cordless, 4173 | BISSELL lists a Tangle-Free Brush Roll. | BISSELL lists a 200W motor and up to 40 minutes in low mode or 13 minutes in turbo mode. Its runtime footnote specifies use of the hand vacuum in eco mode, so these figures should not be read as powered-floorhead runtime. The “under $200” suction statement is qualified as sealed suction per ASTM F558. | Check the runtime conditions against how you plan to vacuum, and verify replacement filter and brush availability for model 4173. BISSELL PowerClean 4173 specifications. |
| Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal Plus, IZ382H | Shark lists a self-cleaning PowerFins nozzle and FloorDetect, which adjusts brush-roll speed by floor type. | Shark lists up to 50 minutes, measured at the hand vacuum in standard mode. The manufacturer says filtration captures and traps over 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns and larger, based on ASTM F1977; its page defines allergens as non-living matter. | Shark lists model-specific foam/felt and HEPA filters, upholstery tools, and other accessories. Confirm the exact part and bundle for IZ382H. Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal Plus details. |
| Tineco PURE ONE A50s | Tineco lists a 3DSense brush. | Tineco lists 185W suction, up to 70 minutes of runtime, a 1L dust capacity, and six-stage HEPA filtration. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently compared measurements; the maximum runtime should not be assumed for every mode or tool. | Check the product listing for the configuration and included tools that suit your floors. Tineco PURE ONE A50s specifications. |
| BISSELL CleanView Pet Slim Cordless, 29037 | BISSELL lists a Tangle-Free Brush Roll, handheld conversion, and a three-in-one pet-hair upholstery tool. | BISSELL states up to 30 minutes of cordless cleaning. | Check whether its included pet tool suits your upholstery and whether compatible replacement parts are available for model 29037. BISSELL CleanView Pet Slim details. |
| Tineco A10 HERO | Tineco describes a powered multi-tasker brush for the A10 line. Its soft-roller power brush is included with A10 Tango and can be purchased separately; Tineco says it applies to other A10 series models. | The product page contains differing runtime statements for configurations, so a single figure should not be assumed for every A10 HERO bundle. | Confirm the exact bundle and brush compatibility before ordering. Tineco A10 HERO details. |
How to choose for your household
If you have carpets
Prioritize details about brush engagement and floor adjustment rather than the word “motorized” alone. Shark lists FloorDetect adjustment by floor type on the IZ382H, but that feature description by itself does not establish how it compares with other vacuums on carpet. Runtime in the mode used with the floor head is also more useful than an unqualified maximum.

- Every Purchase Saves Pets. BISSELL proudly supports BISSELL Pet Foundation and its mission to help save homeless pets..600.0 watts
- Powerful Motorized Brush Roll. Brush roll and powerful suction work great for quick and easy cleaning on multiple surfaces, including carpet, bare floors, stairs and upholstery.
- 3-in-1 Versatility. Use as a traditional stick vacuum, remove the foot for a high reach vacuum or use the Quick Release Handle to easily convert into a hand vacuum.
- Lightweight & Easy to Carry. Weighing less than 4 lbs, its lightweight design makes it easy to pick up and carry around your home.
- Tools Included. Crevice tool included for vacuuming hard-to-reach spaces and messes.
If you have mostly hard floors
Look for evidence that the head handles debris without scattering it and check whether the model offers a soft roller. Tineco says a soft-roller power brush is included with the A10 Tango and available separately for other A10 series models; confirm compatibility with the precise vacuum configuration before purchase.
If pet hair is a priority
Compare the brush’s hair-management design and the tools included for upholstery, stairs, and other surfaces. BISSELL lists a three-in-one pet-hair upholstery tool with the CleanView Pet Slim 29037. A tangle-free or self-cleaning label is a feature description, not a guarantee that hair will never need to be removed from the brush.

Read specifications without overestimating performance
- Runtime: Keep the stated mode and measurement setup attached to the number. BISSELL’s PowerClean figures include a hand-vacuum eco-mode footnote, while Shark’s 50-minute IZ382H claim is measured at the hand vacuum in standard mode. Neither figure establishes powered-floorhead runtime in every setting.
- Filtration: Shark’s over-99.97% statement applies to particles 0.3 microns and larger and is attributed to SharkNinja’s ASTM F1977 basis. It is not a general result for other models.
- Power and suction: Wattage and sealed-suction claims use different measures. BISSELL qualifies its PowerClean “under $200” suction statement as per ASTM F558 sealed suction; that is not a like-for-like comparison with Tineco’s listed 185W suction.
- Capacity: Tineco lists a 1L dust capacity for the A50s. The cited specifications do not provide comparable bin-capacity figures for the other models in this table.
Check bundle and replacement-part compatibility
Product names can cover multiple bundles, and accessories may be sold separately. Before ordering, match the exact model number to the manufacturer’s current listing for the floor head, soft roller, filters, and any pet or upholstery tools. Shark lists specific replacement filters and accessories for IZ382H; Tineco describes A10-series brush compatibility, but the exact configuration still matters.
