Dreamwerks also characterizes many of its kits as DIY-friendly. That is vendor guidance, not independent installation testing. Its guidance points toward professional help when plumbing needs relocation, the surfaces need substantial correction, or waterproofing is uncertain.
Best fit for a tiled shower system: Schluter KERDI-SHOWER-KIT-FLG
For a tile or stone finish, the KERDI-SHOWER-KIT-FLG is the clearly itemized example in the available manufacturer information. Schluter describes it as an assembly for a waterproof and vapor-tight tiled shower and lists the tray, curb, waterproofing materials, formed corners, seals, drain and grate. Confirm that the particular kit’s configuration suits the shower design and follow Schluter’s installation guidance and warranty criteria.

Another tile-ready option to investigate: HydroBlok
HydroBlok’s 2022 article describes a system built around a pan, curb and wallboards, with drain and waterproofing-related installation materials. Because that description is dated, treat it as a starting point rather than confirmation of a currently available package: ask the manufacturer or retailer to verify the current SKU, size, drain placement and included parts before specifying it.
Check fit, plumbing and contents before buying
A kit’s headline size is not enough to establish that it will fit. Measure the existing opening and compare it with the exact model’s dimensions and layout. Check these points against the manufacturer’s current product page and installation instructions:

- Footprint and height: Confirm width, depth and height, and whether the model is intended for an alcove, corner or neo-angle installation.
- Drain placement: Match the drain location to existing plumbing or include plumbing work in the project scope.
- Door clearance and orientation: Check swing, entry clearance and whether the door or enclosure can be installed in the orientation your bathroom requires.
- Package boundaries: Verify whether the box includes a base or tray, walls or substrate, drain flange and grate, curb, seals, door and hardware. “Complete” does not have one universal contents list.
- Installation demands: Distinguish a prefabricated enclosure from a tile assembly. Confirm what substrate, tools, setting materials and plumbing work the installation requires.
- Availability and total cost: Check stock and account for any separately sold components rather than comparing the price of a partial set with a complete package.
Delta model 40084 illustrates why the contents check matters: Delta lists it as a 48-by-34-inch acrylic wall set for a 48-by-34-inch alcove, while its matching Classic 400 base model 40074 is sold separately.
