The best remote-control pedestal fan depends on what you need it to do: move air across a larger room, cycle on and off around a temperature, or provide straightforward adjustable airflow. The picks below combine current Lasko manufacturer specifications with Bob Vila’s independent testing; those are different kinds of evidence, so manufacturer airflow figures are not presented as lab comparisons.

Quick comparison: which remote-control pedestal fan fits your needs?

Model Useful fit Remote functions listed Other notable specifications
Lasko 20-inch Oscillating Pedestal Fan with Remote Readers prioritizing a larger blade and stated airflow capacity Speed, oscillation, and timer Four speeds; up to 2,191 CFM; height adjusts up to 56.9 inches; seven-hour timer; one-year warranty. Manufacturer specifications.
Lasko 16-inch Pedestal Fan with Thermostat and Remote Readers who want temperature-based cycling and height adjustment Speed, timer, and thermostat Four speeds; up to 1,710 CFM; 90-degree horizontal oscillation; 43–53-inch height; 53 dBa at high speed; seven-hour timer; one-year warranty. Manufacturer specifications.
Lasko Cyclone 18-inch remote model Readers who want optional oscillation and simpler remote operation Power and speed Four speeds; optional oscillation; tilt; 41–53-inch height; tool-free assembly; ETL listed. Manufacturer specifications. Page showed sold out when accessed.
Vornado Energy Smart Medium Pedestal Air Circulator Readers prioritizing quiet airflow over oscillation Remote included; specific remote functions not stated in the cited review summary Bob Vila’s overall pick in its tested comparison; does not oscillate.
Dreo PolyFan 704S Readers considering a smart fan with broad-direction oscillation Not stated in the cited review summary Bob Vila discusses it as a smart option and reports horizontal and vertical oscillation. Check the current listing for remote functions and exact configuration.

Manufacturer-published CFM figures describe each Lasko model’s stated capacity; the product pages do not establish a shared independent test protocol. Do not treat the larger number as proof of better real-world performance.

What to check before choosing

Remote control should cover the functions you will actually use

Remote-equipped does not necessarily mean fully remote-operated. Check whether the handset controls speed, oscillation, timer, and thermostat individually. For example, Lasko lists the 20-inch model’s remote as controlling speed, oscillation, and timer, while the 16-inch model’s remote also operates its thermostat. The Cyclone page lists remote power and speed control. TechGearLab’s review notes a tested model whose remote could not control oscillation, illustrating why the exact control list matters.

Match airflow and size to the room, not just the biggest number

Lasko lists up to 2,191 CFM for its 20-inch model and up to 1,710 CFM for its 16-inch model. These are manufacturer specifications, not results from a common independent comparison. Consider the room, distance to the fan, blade size, and whether you want broad circulation or a more directed breeze. Bob Vila’s buying guide says airflow is the most important factor and suggests 16-inch fans for an average bedroom or small living area and 24-inch models for a garage or large living room; treat that as the guide’s recommendation, not a universal sizing rule.

#1 Best Overall
Lasko Oscillating Pedestal Fan - Adjustable to 47" - 2520 - White
  • 3 Quiet Speeds
  • Tilt-Back Feature
  • Fully-Adjustable Height
  • Wide-Area Oscillation
  • Simple "No Tool" Assembly

Consider noise, height, tilt, and oscillation together

For sleeping or focused work, look for noise information at the speed you expect to use; the Lasko 16-inch page lists 53 dBa at high speed, but does not establish a comparable low-speed figure in the cited specifications. Check height range and head tilt against where you sit or sleep. Oscillation also varies: the 16-inch Lasko specifies 90-degree horizontal oscillation, the Cyclone has optional oscillation, and the Vornado pick in Bob Vila’s comparison does not oscillate.

Top picks in detail

Best for stated high airflow: Lasko 20-inch oscillating fan

Lasko lists four speeds and up to 2,191 CFM for this model, along with oscillation, a tilt-back head, and height adjustment up to 56.9 inches. Its seven-hour timer and remote storage are useful convenience features; the manufacturer says the remote controls speed, oscillation, and timer. Lasko also describes Blue Plug fused safety technology and lists a one-year warranty. These are manufacturer-published features, not independent test findings.

Rank #2
Amazon Basics 16" Pedestal Fan with Remote for Bedroom, Living Room, Office, Adjustable Height, Dual-Layered Blades, 3 Speeds, 3 Modes, Timer, Tilt Head, 60W, Black
  • OPTIMIZED DESIGN FOR MEDIUM TO LARGE ROOMS: This 16-inch pedestal fan with remote effectively circulates air in spaces like living rooms, kitchens, and offices
  • ENERGY-EFFICIENT QUIET OPERATION: Featuring an advanced AC motor, this electric fan delivers airflow using only 60 Watts
  • CUSTOMIZED COMFORT WITH 3 SPEEDS: Enjoy personalized comfort with 3 speed settings and 3 breeze modes on this cooling fan(nature, sleep, or normal mode).
  • ADJUSTABLE AIRFLOW AND HEIGHT: This stand up fan allows easy adjustment of height and tilt to direct airflow where needed
  • REMOTE CONTROL CONVENIENCE: Manage your fan with ease using the included remote control. Adjust speed, mode, and timer settings without moving, helping your standing fan circulate air throughout the room

This is a reasonable shortlist candidate when the larger blade and stated airflow capacity suit the room. Compare its footprint and control functions with your needs rather than assuming the CFM figure alone determines how well it will work in your space.

Best for temperature-based cycling: Lasko 16-inch thermostat model

The thermostat cycles the fan based on room temperature, according to Lasko. The manufacturer lists four speeds, up to 1,710 CFM, 90-degree horizontal oscillation, a tilt-adjustable head, and height adjustment from 43 to 53 inches. The seven-hour timer and remote cover speed, timer, and thermostat. The page lists 53 dBa at high speed and a one-year warranty.

  • POWERFUL COOLING: Three quiet speeds deliver personalized comfort without disruptive noise, making this tall fan ideal for light sleepers. Widespread oscillation sends a refreshing breeze across your skin and throughout every corner of your bedroom or living room.
  • ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT: Keep your cool where you need it most. Features a fully adjustable stand that extends up to 54" and a tilt-back head that directs airflow during the hottest summer days.
  • CUSTOMIZE YOUR COMFORT: The remote control handles power, speeds, and timer—no need to leave the couch or bed. A 4-hour timer shuts off automatically, perfect for fitness enthusiasts wanting a cooler home gym.
  • BUILT IN SAFETY: ETL listed, this office fan features Blue Plug technology, stopping the electrical current if a fault is detected, providing a safer, more reliable cooling solution.
  • LOVE YOUR AIR: Since 1906, Lasko has pioneered the way forward in delivering superior air comfort through our range of fans, heaters and other products. We remain dedicated to providing supreme comfort to you and your entire family.

Choose this model if thermostat operation matters more to you than having oscillation on the remote. The published remote-function list does not include oscillation control, so confirm that distinction if you expect to change it from across the room.

Best simpler option to check for availability: Lasko Cyclone 18-inch

Lasko lists four speeds, optional oscillation, tilt, a 41-to-53-inch height range, tool-free assembly, and remote operation for power and speed. The manufacturer page says the model is ETL listed. The page showed the fan sold out when accessed, so check current stock and the precise model configuration before choosing it.

Best independent-test alternative when oscillation is not essential: Vornado Energy Smart Medium

Bob Vila named this remote-equipped air circulator its overall pick after researching more than 30 best-selling options and testing 12 models for more than a month. Its review describes quiet airflow, but the model does not oscillate. That makes it a less suitable choice if sweeping side-to-side movement is essential. Bob Vila also discusses the Dreo PolyFan 704S as a smart option with broad horizontal and vertical oscillation; verify the current model listing for its remote functions and configuration before buying.

How to make the final choice

  1. Decide which remote controls are must-haves. Write down whether you need speed, oscillation, timer, or thermostat operation from the handset, then compare that list with the model’s product page.
  2. Estimate the reach and placement you need. Consider room size, distance, the fan’s height range, and whether tilt can aim airflow toward a bed, chair, or work area.
  3. Set your comfort priorities. For sleep or work, weigh noise details and timer behavior; for wider room circulation, check oscillation and whether it is horizontal, vertical, optional, or absent.
  4. Verify the exact product and local requirements. Confirm availability, model suffix, included accessories, warranty terms, voltage, and safety certification for your market. The cited Lasko pages are US-facing, so their configurations and availability may not apply elsewhere.

Sources and evidence limits

Lasko’s product pages provide manufacturer specifications and feature descriptions for the three Lasko models. Bob Vila reports researching more than 30 best-selling options and testing 12 models over more than a month; those figures describe that publisher’s review process, not a population-wide study. CHOICE Australia’s listing, updated January 13, 2026, describes lab testing of airflow, remote and timer features, oscillation, noise, and running costs, but detailed product scores are not included here. Product variants, stock, prices, included batteries, and warranty terms can change, so use the live listing and model manual for the market where you will use the fan.
