There is no single Panasonic countertop microwave that suits every kitchen: the right choice depends first on the space available and the capacity you need, then on wattage and the model’s specific cooking features. Panasonic’s current catalog includes microwave-only countertop models in 1.2-, 1.6- and 2.2-cu.-ft. sizes, as well as multi-ovens with convection and air frying. The four models below are microwave-only options; compare those separately from multi-ovens. See Panasonic’s microwave catalog.
How to choose a Panasonic countertop microwave
- Measure the space first. Compare the listed exterior width, height and depth with your counter area. Leave room for the clearances specified in the model’s manual; the dimensions in the table do not establish required ventilation space.
- Choose capacity for what you heat. Panasonic’s listed options here range from 1.2 cu. ft. to 2.2 cu. ft. A larger interior also comes with a larger exterior footprint, so check both before deciding.
- Compare output and controls. Wattage and power-level counts differ by model. If sensor cooking or reheating matters to you, check the exact model’s listed programs rather than assuming the feature count is shared across the range.
- Check model-specific extras. Defrost, keep-warm, auto-cook menus and turntable details vary. Confirm the suffix on the product listing and the label on the appliance.
Panasonic countertop microwave comparison
Specifications below are those Panasonic lists for each model. Dimensions are exterior measurements; the order is height × width × depth where Panasonic provides that order, and width × height × depth where the product-page figure is stated in that order.
| Model | Capacity and output | Exterior dimensions | Listed features |
|---|---|---|---|
| NN-SN66KB | 1.2 cu. ft.; 1200W; 11 power levels | Not stated on the cited product page | Inverter technology, Genius Sensor, Turbo Defrost and Keep Warm |
| NN-SN65QSD | 1.2 cu. ft.; 1250W; 10 power levels | 12.2 in. high × 20.7 in. wide × 15.8 in. deep | Sensor cook and reheat |

Which model fits your kitchen?
For a compact 1.2-cu.-ft. microwave with listed convenience features
The NN-SN66KB pairs 1.2 cu. ft. of capacity with 1200W output and 11 power levels. Panasonic lists Genius Sensor, Turbo Defrost and Keep Warm. The product page says the Genius Sensor “automatically adjusts power and time for perfect results”; that is Panasonic’s product description, not an independent performance finding. Check the unit’s actual dimensions before purchase, since they are not stated on the cited page.
For a compact 1.2-cu.-ft. model with published exterior dimensions
The NN-SN65QSD is listed at 1250W and 10 power levels, with sensor cook and reheat. Its published 12.2 × 20.7 × 15.8-in. exterior measurements make it easier to compare against a specific counter space. Those dimensions do not replace the clearance instructions in its manual.

For a middle-size capacity and a specified turntable
The NN-SN755S increases capacity to 1.6 cu. ft. while keeping listed output at 1250W. Panasonic lists 14 auto-cook menus, sensor reheat, Turbo Defrost and a dishwasher-safe 15-in. glass turntable. Its exterior width is 21 7/8 in., so measure the available counter space along with height and depth.
For the largest capacity in this comparison
The NN-SN966SR offers 2.2 cu. ft. and 1250W output, with 14 sensor cook settings listed by Panasonic. At 23 7/8 in. wide, it needs more counter width than the other models with published dimensions here. Choose it when the larger interior is useful and the footprint fits.

Sensor cooking, power and feature claims
Sensor features are not described identically across these models: Panasonic lists Genius Sensor on the NN-SN66KB, sensor cook and reheat on the NN-SN65QSD, sensor reheat on the NN-SN755S, and 14 sensor cook settings on the NN-SN966SR. Treat those as model-specific controls, not a common feature package or a guarantee of a particular result.
Likewise, wattage alone does not tell you whether a model has the menus or convenience functions you want. Compare output alongside the specific feature list and the way you cook. Panasonic’s stated technology benefits are manufacturer claims; the specifications cited here do not establish independent testing of heating uniformity, speed, reliability or cooking results.

Fit, accessories and purchase checks
- Confirm the complete model number and suffix on the listing before ordering. Similar Panasonic model names do not establish interchangeable dimensions, controls or parts.
- Check the product manual for electrical requirements and installation or ventilation clearances, and compare those requirements with your intended counter location.
- Verify current inventory and listing details directly before purchase; availability and product listings can change.
- For replacement accessories, match the part to the microwave’s exact model label and Panasonic compatibility information. Panasonic support identifies a glass tray replacement accessory for the NN-SN766S and NN-SN996S; that listing does not establish that the tray fits the models in this comparison. Check Panasonic support specifications.
