Consider blade type, size, and machine footprint together
Weston’s manual for model 83-0750-W identifies a 7½-inch serrated stainless-steel blade. BESWOOD lists 9-inch and 10-inch models. These are different configurations, not proof that one blade type or diameter is universally best for bacon. Choose based on the slab dimensions and the machine’s documented capacity, and account for the room needed to set up, operate, and clean the slicer. Which size makes sense for your bacon?
Choose a smaller household slicer for compact portions
A 7.5-inch household slicer is a reasonable place to start if you expect to work with smaller portions and its carriage and cutting space suit your needs. The Weston manual documents the 83-0750-W’s 7½-inch serrated blade and safe-use instructions. Because the cited manufacturer product page describes a different model number, confirm the exact unit and its current specifications before relying on details from either source.
Look at BESWOOD’s larger options when capacity is the constraint
If your measured slab is too large for a smaller machine, compare it with the BESWOOD 9- and 10-inch models’ published cutting dimensions. The 10-inch listing allows 5 mm more maximum length and 15 mm more maximum height than the 9-inch listing. That difference may matter for fit, but it does not establish that either model accommodates every whole bacon belly or delivers a preferred slice. Check the maker’s current configuration details and the shape of your particular slab.

Safe operation and cleanup are part of the choice
A slicer’s food carriage, pusher, blade access, and cleaning instructions affect whether it is practical to use at home. The Weston manual for model 83-0750-W says: “Never feed food by hand. Always use completely assembled slicer with the food carriage and food pusher.” It also directs users to unplug the machine before cleaning, handle the blade carefully, and use cut-resistant gloves when handling the blade. A practical way to make the decision
- Measure your bacon. Record the slab’s length and height, then compare them with the manufacturer’s maximum cutting dimensions and the usable carriage space.
- Set your thickness needs. Decide what range you want and check whether the manufacturer publishes a numeric adjustment range.
- Confirm the exact model. Match the product listing, model label, and manual; do not treat similar model numbers as interchangeable.
- Review cleaning and operating instructions. Check how the carriage and pusher are used, how the blade is accessed for cleaning, and whether the manual gives a duty limit.
- Choose only from supported comparisons. Treat maker specifications as specifications, not proof of slice quality. A blade size or power rating alone cannot establish bacon performance.
