For a U.S. kitchen renovation, compare exact 24-inch built-in models by cabinet fit, panel and handle options, noise rating, rack layout, cleaning and drying systems, and the purchase and installation terms. Bosch 800 Series and Benchmark, Thermador, Miele G 7000 and Cove offer different feature combinations, but the available manufacturer information does not establish an independent overall winner.
What makes a dishwasher “luxury”?
“Luxury” is a buying-guide category, not an official certification. In the premium built-in models considered here, it generally means features such as specialized drying, targeted wash zones, flexible racks, automatic detergent dispensing, connected controls or cabinetry-matched fronts. Those features may improve convenience or suit a particular kitchen; a higher price or longer feature list does not, by itself, prove better cleaning.
The examples below are based on U.S. manufacturer pages. Feature descriptions and sound figures are manufacturer claims, not the results of a common independent test. Availability and specifications can differ by exact SKU, so treat a series name as a starting point, not a guarantee of what a particular dishwasher includes.
Start with fit and visual integration
These brands offer 24-inch-class built-in options, including designs intended to blend into cabinetry. Miele describes fully integrated fronts that can be hidden behind a matching furniture panel or supplied in Clean Touch Steel. Bosch’s U.S. catalog lists 24-inch 800 Series and Benchmark models in stainless-steel and custom-panel configurations. See Miele’s fully integrated dishwasher features and the Bosch U.S. dishwasher catalog.

- Heated Dry : Smart dishwasher ensures the best drying performance. The extra drying function offers a thorough drying performance (except for the Rapid and Self-clean cycle) with no additional towel drying required.
- HI TEMP : The HYGIENE wash cycle maintains the water temperature at 136°F (58°C) max , which can tackle even the heaviest soiled dishes. It is also suitable for cleaning baby bottles and children's dinner sets.
Before choosing a finish or feature package, confirm the exact model’s installation requirements against the kitchen plan. A nominal width does not establish that the unit will fit an existing opening or clear nearby doors and drawers.
- Check the cutout width, height and depth, including any flooring or countertop changes in the renovation.
- Confirm door swing and clearance with adjacent cabinets, islands and appliances.
- Verify whether the SKU accepts a custom panel, whether a panel is supplied, and what panel dimensions and weight it allows.
- Choose a handle style that works with the cabinetry and does not interfere with the panel or neighboring surfaces.
How the premium lines differ
There is no established head-to-head test here that identifies a best-performing brand. The table summarizes the features manufacturers highlight; verify each one on the model listing you plan to order.
| Line or documented model | Cleaning and drying | Loading, automation and sound | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bosch 800 Series | Bosch describes CrystalDry and PowerControl on its 800 Series page. Bosch says CrystalDry produced “60% drier dishes” than PureDry in its aggregate comparison using plastics, glass, steel and porcelain household loads. This is a Bosch-reported comparison, not an independent category-wide result; drying can vary by dish type. | The cited page gives a manufacturer noise rating of 42 dBA. Multiple exterior and panel configurations are presented. | Confirm CrystalDry, PowerControl, configuration, dimensions and availability on the exact SKU. Bosch’s catalog also lists Benchmark models, but the cited 800 Series features should not be assumed for Benchmark. |
| Thermador premium dishwashers | The U.S. dishwasher page highlights StarDry with Zeolite and Crystal Protect water softening on applicable products. It also describes lower-rack zone control. | Thermador highlights an adjustable Chef’s Tool Drawer, Star Glow/Blue Sapphire Glow lighting and Home Connect integration. Its page reports a 42 dBA signature cleaning cycle. | These are line-page descriptions and may not apply to every model. Check the exact model for drying, softening, zone control, drawer, lighting, connectivity and sound specifications. |
| Miele G 7566 SCVi XXL SF | The product listing specifies AutoOpen drying and QuickIntenseWash. | The listing reports 40 dB(A), AutoDos with an integrated PowerDisk and a 3D MultiFlex tray. It lists a PowerDisk among included items. | This is one documented G 7000 example, not evidence that all G 7000 models share its features. Confirm the model’s dimensions, front, included items and options. |
| Cove | Cove’s support pages describe Auto, Normal, Heavy, Quick and additional cycles, along with cycle-specific water-use ranges and times. The figures are Cove model-specific guidance, not a cross-brand comparison. | Listed options include delay start, high-temperature wash, Sani Rinse, extended and extra dry, and top-rack-only washing. Cove says Sani Rinse sanitizes per NSF/ANSI 184 for residential dishwashers. | Check the exact model’s cycle availability and current specifications. Cove recommends Auto or Normal for most loads and Heavy for heavy or stuck-on soil. |

Choose a cleaning and drying approach that fits your dishes
For plastics and mixed loads
Bosch positions CrystalDry as a drying feature and reports its comparison with PureDry under a stated mixed household load. That result is the manufacturer’s claim; it is not a guarantee that every plastic item will come out dry or that Bosch outperforms other brands. If plastic drying is a priority, check which drying system the exact SKU includes and consider how your usual load differs from the dishes in the cited comparison.

For targeted washing or water softening
Thermador highlights lower-rack zone control and Crystal Protect water softening on applicable products. These may be useful if you want to wash a partial load or your household has hard water, but the source does not establish that every Thermador includes either feature. Confirm model-level inclusion and any setup requirements before ordering.
For automatic detergent dispensing and flexible loading
The Miele G 7566 listing combines AutoDos and an included PowerDisk with a 3D MultiFlex tray. AutoDos is relevant if you want detergent dispensing integrated into the appliance; confirm PowerDisk compatibility and ongoing availability for the exact model. The flexible tray may matter if your regular load includes utensils or small items that compete for rack space. Miele’s February 27, 2024 U.S. announcement called the G7000 line “a pinnacle of smart, autonomous cleaning”; that is company promotional language, not independent evaluation. The product page also includes an endorsement from a glass manufacturer, which should likewise be read as an endorsement rather than test evidence. Read Miele’s announcement.

How to compare cycle time, water and drying
A longer cycle is not, by itself, evidence of higher energy or water use. Cove’s support FAQ asks why its cycles take longer than other brands; Cove explains that its cycles recirculate water more times. Its cycle table gives times and water-use ranges for Cove cycles, but those figures are model-specific manufacturer guidance and cannot be used as a direct comparison with other brands’ cycles.
Cove recommends Auto or Normal for most loads and Heavy for heavy or stuck-on soil. It also says the shorter Quick cycle affects drying performance. That is a practical trade-off to consider if you need a faster turnaround: compare the cycle you will actually use, the soil level it is intended for, and whether you may need extra drying. See Cove’s cycle times and water-use guidance.

Compare sound ratings carefully
The cited pages give manufacturer ratings of 42 dBA for Bosch 800 Series, 42 dBA for Thermador’s signature cleaning cycle, and 40 dB(A) for the listed Miele G 7566. These figures are not a matched independent test, and the Thermador figure refers to a described cycle. Use them as product-page specifications, not proof that one brand will sound quieter in your kitchen. Check the rating and its scope on the exact model listing.

Build a model-by-model shortlist before ordering
Once the feature priorities are clear, compare the exact SKUs rather than brand families. Use the same checklist for each candidate, and leave a detail unresolved rather than assuming it from a series name.
- Record the installation fit. Compare width, height, depth, cutout dimensions, door clearance, panel requirements and handle style with the construction drawings and cabinetry plan.
- Check the sound specification. Note the manufacturer rating and whether it applies to the model generally or a named cycle.
- Identify the wash and dry systems. Record any targeted zone, water-softening feature, drying technology and the dishes or loads the manufacturer says it addresses.
- Inspect the rack layout. Check utensil trays, adjustable racks and any top-rack-only option against the items your household loads most often.
- Compare useful cycles and controls. Look for quick, delicate, sanitation and extra-dry options, plus any connected functions you expect to use.
- Confirm purchase conditions. Get current SKU-specific pricing, warranty terms, delivery, installation and service details from the seller before committing.
The manufacturer pages cited here do not provide a complete current price or warranty comparison, nor a common independent performance test. Those details need to be confirmed for the actual model, seller and installation plan.
