First, decide which kind of wet/dry cleaner you mean
Hoover’s US product categories separate vacuums, carpet cleaners, spot cleaners and hard-floor cleaners. The review lists a 0.55 L clean-water tank, a 0.55 L dirty-water tank, up to 40 minutes of runtime, and a 4.5-hour recharge time. That does not establish present availability, a current price, or availability in the United States. Check the listing in your country and confirm the exact model variant before buying.

How to judge whether it suits your job
The HW3’s reported modes and water tanks describe a floor-washing machine, not evidence that it is suitable for workshop cleanup or general liquid pickup. For household hard floors, compare the tasks you need it to handle with the reported operating modes, then consider the practical limits below.
- Floor and task: confirm that your flooring and the messes you expect to clean are appropriate for a hard-floor washer. The cited review identifies hard floors as its intended use; it does not establish suitability for carpets, construction debris, or a shop-vac role.
- Cleaning interval: the review reports 0.55 L for each tank. Tank capacity and runtime are separate constraints: how often you refill or empty it depends on the cleaning job, and the review does not provide a coverage-per-tank figure.
- Time between jobs: “up to 40 minutes” is the review’s stated runtime, while the listed recharge time is 4.5 hours. Plan for charging rather than assuming it can be used continuously across multiple jobs.
- After-use care: the reported self-clean cycle is a maintenance feature, not proof that no manual cleaning is ever needed. Follow the model’s current instructions for emptying and maintaining the machine.
Replacement filter AH46100: verify fit before ordering
Hoover lists a replacement filter named “WBD Wet/Dry Vac Filter 3 Gal,” part AH46100. The product page says it is designed for select Hoover wet/dry vacuum models but does not identify those models in the available product-page text. The “3 Gal” wording is part of the filter’s designation; it does not identify a compatible vacuum or establish compatibility with the HW3. Hoover listed the filter at $19.99 on the captured product page, but price and stock can change. Check Hoover’s AH46100 product page.

Before ordering, find the vacuum’s model number and confirm compatibility with Hoover. Hoover’s support library says the model label is on the unit’s bottom or backside and directs owners to search by model number. Use Hoover’s product support library to look up the model.

The HW3 is a documented Hoover option for cordless hard-floor vacuuming and mopping, based on TechRadar’s 2025 review. That review is not a comparative test against other Hoover wet/dry models, so it cannot establish a category winner. Nor does the available US information establish a current Hoover shop-vac lineup from which to choose a best model.

If you need a drum-style shop vacuum, compare current models in your country using capacity, power source, hose and accessory setup, filtration, and the manufacturer’s wet-pickup instructions. Those details are not established for a current Hoover US shop vacuum here, so verify the model and its official documentation before treating a Hoover product as a shop-vac substitute.
