Check how a model handles temperature before you buy: the Conair FB30 and Promed FB-100 describe heat-retention functions, while the Philips PPM6501 lists an 800 W heater. The right choice depends on that distinction, plus foot fit, massage options, controls, cleanup and storage.
What does “heated” mean on a foot bath?
Product descriptions use heat-related terms for different functions. Some units are designed to maintain the temperature of warm water you add; others list a heater and selectable temperature settings. Check the exact model’s product page and manual rather than assuming that “heat” means it will warm cold water.
- Heat maintenance: Conair says the FB30 maintains warm water rather than heating it. Promed describes the FB-100’s warming function the same way.
- Listed heater and temperature settings: Philips’ Philippines listing for the PPM6501 specifies an 800 W heater and settings of 40°C, 43°C and 46°C. Regional availability and specifications may vary.
- Adjustable temperature range: Medisana lists the FS 885 with a water-temperature range of 20–48°C. The listing also gives a 390 W rating and 220–240 V/50 Hz electrical data.
These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of how quickly or evenly a bath heats water in everyday use.

Temperature controls and timer
If you want to choose a target temperature, compare the specific settings or range—not just the word “heat.” Medisana lists a 20–48°C range and a 20–60 minute adjustable timer for the FS 885. Philips lists three temperature levels for the PPM6501: 40°C, 43°C and 46°C. The cited product pages do not establish that these controls perform alike in practice.

Massage and pedicure features
Listings describe combinations of bubbles, vibration, water jets, rollers and removable pedicure attachments. For example, Medisana lists bubble and vibration massage, infrared heat and massage rollers for the FS 885. Philips lists electric massage turntables and water jets for the PPM6501; Conair lists three massage attachments for the FB30; and Promed lists massage and pedicure attachments for the FB-100. “Massage” is not a standardized performance measure, so use the feature list to identify the kind of setup you prefer, not to infer comparative strength or effectiveness.
Fit, storage and cleanup
Check the maker’s fit guidance and the unit’s dimensions against your feet and storage space. Medisana says the FS 885 is suitable up to shoe size 46. Philips describes the PPM6501 as foldable. Medisana’s catalogue describes the FS 886 as foldable and equipped with a drain spout. A drain spout or folding design may suit your routine, but consult the exact model’s directions for emptying and cleaning.

How to choose by your priorities
- You want water warmed by the unit: Look for explicit language about active heating, a heater, and temperature controls in the documentation for the exact model. The Philips PPM6501 and Medisana FS 886 are examples whose manufacturers describe a heater or active heating.
- You are comfortable adding warm water: A heat-maintenance model may fit that preference, but it is not a substitute for active heating. Conair and Promed explicitly describe this limitation for the models listed above.
- You need a particular fit: Start with the stated shoe-size guidance and dimensions, if published. Do not assume a model fits based only on its product category.
- You have limited storage: Consider a foldable design, such as the models described as foldable by Philips or Medisana, and verify how the unit drains and dries.
- You want massage or pedicure accessories: Compare the named features and included attachments in the model’s local product documentation; feature labels alone do not prove a particular massage feel or result.
Use an electric foot bath safely
Follow the instruction booklet for the exact appliance. In the FB30 booklet, Conair directs users to sit while using the bath, never stand in it, unplug it before cleaning, and never plug in or unplug it while feet are in water. It also warns against adding boiling or steaming water. These are Conair’s model-specific directions, not a substitute for the manual supplied with another brand or model.

If a health condition could affect heat sensation or safe use, check your model’s manual and seek appropriate medical advice.
