For granite floors, choose a cleaner whose manufacturer explicitly says it is intended for natural-stone floors. Granite Gold lists two floor-specific options: a ready-to-use Squeeze & Mop cleaner and a concentrated Stone & Tile Floor Cleaner. Neither has been shown here to outperform the other in independent comparative testing, so the practical choice is the format that suits how you clean—and whether it is currently available.
Granite floor cleaner options compared
| Product | Format and intended surfaces | Directions | What to consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Granite Gold Squeeze & Mop Floor Cleaner | Ready to use; Granite Gold lists granite, marble, travertine, natural-stone and ceramic-tile floors. Manufacturer product page | Sweep or vacuum first. Apply without mixing or diluting, then mop with a string mop, sponge mop or towels. Do not rinse; let dry. Manufacturer directions | The manufacturer page showed the product as sold out when checked; stock can change. |
| Granite Gold Stone & Tile Floor Cleaner | Concentrate; Granite Gold lists granite, marble, travertine, slate, natural-stone and ceramic-tile floors. Manufacturer product page | Add 2–4 ounces to one gallon of hot or cold water, mop, and do not rinse, according to the manufacturer’s FAQ. | The manufacturer product page described a concentrate and showed it as sold out when checked; stock can change. |
These are manufacturer descriptions and instructions, not results from a head-to-head floor-cleaning test. The available evidence does not establish which product cleans better, offers better value, or lasts longer.
How to choose between ready-to-use and concentrate
- Choose ready-to-use if you want to apply the cleaner directly without measuring or diluting it. The Squeeze & Mop directions say, “Do not mix or dilute.”
- Choose concentrate if you prefer mixing a measured amount into a bucket. Follow the stated 2–4-ounce-per-gallon range rather than guessing at a stronger mixture.
- Check current stock before planning a purchase. Product availability is volatile, and the manufacturer pages showed both products as sold out when checked.
- Compare floor-specific directions, including supported surfaces, dilution, rinsing and mop type. Do not assume a product marketed for countertops is suitable for flooring.
How to clean granite floors with these products
With Squeeze & Mop
- Sweep or vacuum the floor to remove loose dirt.
- Apply the ready-to-use cleaner without mixing or diluting it.
- Mop with a string mop, sponge mop or towels, as directed by Granite Gold.
- Do not rinse; allow the floor to dry.
With the concentrated cleaner
- Mix 2–4 ounces of concentrate into one gallon of hot or cold water, following Granite Gold’s FAQ.
- Mop the floor with the solution.
- Do not rinse. Granite Gold says this preserves the product’s protectant.
Use the product label and current manufacturer directions if they differ from these listed instructions.
Why ordinary floor cleaner may be a poor choice
Granite Gold cautions that everyday floor cleaners can dull natural stone and wear away its protective seal. Stone Care International advises against acidic or abrasive cleaners and abrasive tools on granite, and recommends a stone-safe cleaner. These are the brands’ recommendations, not independent tests covering every cleaner, granite type, finish or sealer. A cautious approach is to use a product explicitly labeled for granite or natural-stone floors and avoid acidic or abrasive products unless the flooring manufacturer says otherwise.

Do not substitute a countertop cleaner or polish
A countertop formula is not automatically appropriate for a floor. Granite Gold says its Clean & Shine product is not recommended for floors because the surface may become slippery. Stone Care International describes its Granite & Stone Daily Cleaner for sealed stone with spray-and-wipe directions and foregrounds countertop use; that guidance does not establish it as a floor-cleaning alternative.

Both Granite Gold options are specifically presented by their manufacturer for granite and other stone flooring, but there is no independent performance comparison in the available evidence. That means there is no substantiated winner for cleaning power, value or durability. Choose based on format, the label’s floor-surface listing, application directions and live availability—not an unsupported claim that one has been tested as the best.
