The right choice balances cooking space, controllable and even heat, durability, warranty, fuel type and useful features against the price. Food Network’s 2026 roundup named the Weber Spirit II-310 its “Best Value Weber Grill” and listed it at $499 when reviewed; that is one publication’s pick and a dated price, not a universal verdict or a guaranteed current offer.
What makes a gas grill good value?
Value is more than the lowest sticker price or the biggest burner rating. A useful comparison asks whether the grill suits the meals you cook, can manage the heat you need, is built for continued use and includes features you will actually use. Include the purchase price and what comes with the grill, rather than assuming accessories or fuel connections are included.
- Cooking capacity: Check the cooking-grid area and whether it can handle the number of people and dishes you usually cook for.
- Heat control: Look for evidence about evenness, preheat performance, temperature range and indirect cooking—not just burner count or headline BTUs.
- Ownership: Compare predicted reliability, owner satisfaction and warranty coverage where those details are available.
- Fit: Confirm fuel configuration, footprint, storage and whether extras such as a side burner or sear zone match your habits.
Consumer Reports’ 2026 buying-guide table compares grills across several of these performance and ownership measures. Tom’s Guide likewise cautions against assuming that more BTUs automatically mean better cooking. Treat ratings as comparisons within the source’s stated evaluation, not guarantees of how a grill will perform in every backyard. A value pick to consider: Weber Spirit II-310
Food Network’s 2026 roundup calls the Weber Spirit II-310 its “Best Value Weber Grill” and lists a price of $499 at the time of review. The review says its porcelain-enameled cast-iron grates have room for about twenty burgers, while noting that the grill has no side burner and is smaller than the Genesis line. Those are review claims about this model, not a promise of capacity for every meal or household. Check the current price, stock, exact model and fuel configuration with the seller before ordering. That pick is not the only plausible answer. Tom’s Guide’s separate 2026 roundup recommends the Weber Spirit EX-325 for many buyers, citing fast ignition, steady heat, cleanup and searing results. The EX-325 and Spirit II-310 are different models; the two publications’ recommendations reflect their own criteria and should not be read as a head-to-head test. Tom’s Guide’s 2026 roundup.
How much grill do you need?
Start with the food you cook, not a burner-count rule. If you often cook different foods at once, more usable grid area and the ability to control separate heat zones may matter. If you mostly grill a few items, paying for extra cooking space or add-ons may not improve your value.

Nexgrill’s 2026 manufacturer-authored guide recommends a four-burner grill with at least 450 square inches of primary cooking space, stainless steel burners and a reliable ignition system as its choice for most people. This is vendor advice, not an independent test or a universal minimum. Use it as one reference point, then check whether the size suits your space and cooking needs. Choose the right fuel configuration before buying
Many gas grills use liquid propane, while some are configured to connect to a home natural-gas line. These are not interchangeable assumptions: verify the exact fuel variant listed for the model you are buying and whether your setup supports it. Manufacturer catalogs distinguish fuel versions, so do not assume that a conversion is simple or available for a particular grill. Weber’s gas-grill catalog; Consumer Reports gas-grill buying guide.

- Spacious Grilling Space: A total of 602 sq. in. cooking area, including a 476 sq. in. primary grilling surface and a 126 sq. in. warming rack, ensures you have ample room to grill for family and friends
- Versatile Cooking Power: Four 10,000 BTU main burners handle your core dishes, a 12,000 BTU sear burner delivers high heat for steakhouse-style searing, and a 9,000 BTU side burner adds flexibility for sides or sauces
- Stainless Steel Lid: Double-layer stainless steel lid retains heat for grilling and helps infuse food with rich grilled flavors, improving cooking efficiency and consistency—making it well-suited for a variety of outdoor settings
- Extra Prep Space: Side shelf holds platters, seasonings, and grilling tools for easy access while cooking. Side burner features a lid, allowing it to double as additional prep space when not in use
- Fast & Reliable Startups: Simply turn the main ignition burner knob to "HI" and press the ignitor button—flames spread to light all main burners quickly and safely. Start cooking faster with fewer steps and greater reliability
Which features are worth paying for?
Consider a feature an upgrade only if it solves a real cooking or convenience need. A side burner can be useful if you regularly prepare sauces or side dishes outdoors; a sear zone may suit cooks who want concentrated high heat. Neither is automatically worth paying extra for.
For example, Weber’s current Spirit E-425 natural-gas product page lists four burners and two Boost Burners. Weber says those Boost Burners provide 40% more power in the Sear Zone; that is the manufacturer’s product-page claim, not an independent comparative result. Confirm that the natural-gas configuration fits your setup before comparing it with propane models. Weber Spirit E-425 natural-gas product page.

A practical comparison before you buy
- Set your budget. Compare the current price for the exact model and note what is included. Review prices are snapshots, and products may differ by retailer or configuration.
- Estimate your cooking space. Match grid area to your usual meal size and number of dishes; do not treat a review’s burger count as a guarantee for your cooking.
- Check performance evidence. Compare heat evenness, preheat behavior, temperature range and indirect-cooking capability when credible evaluations provide them.
- Review ownership factors. Look for reliability and owner-satisfaction measures, warranty terms and access to model-specific parts. Do not infer long-term reliability from burner count or materials alone.
- Confirm the fuel type. Select the propane or natural-gas version that matches your available connection; verify the model details rather than relying on the product-family name.
- Pay for useful extras only. Decide whether a side burner, sear zone, storage or easier grease access will make a meaningful difference to how you cook.
Bottom line
Use the Weber Spirit II-310 as a concrete value candidate, not a one-size-fits-all winner: Food Network’s 2026 review listed it at $499 and noted its useful capacity as well as the lack of a side burner. Compare current offers and exact fuel configurations, then judge alternatives by cooking fit, heat performance, ownership factors and features you will use.
