What matters when choosing an electric brew kettle?
- Spout: A gooseneck shape helps you control the pour for pour-over coffee. A conventional spout is a practical fit for filling mugs and serving general kitchen needs.
- Capacity: A 0.9-liter kettle is smaller than the 1.7-liter examples below. Consider how much hot water you typically need in one session.
- Temperature control: Some kettles let you select from preset temperatures; others allow an adjustable target across a range. Match the control to the precision your brewing routine requires.
- Keep-warm function: Hold times and controls differ by model. Check the exact model’s manual for how the hold works and what happens if you lift the kettle from its base.
- Materials and safety: Check which parts contact water, and follow the model-specific instructions for placement, handling, and operation.
Which electric kettle is best for pour-over coffee?
The Fellow Stagg EKG is the most purpose-specific example here for pour-over: Fellow describes it as a precision gooseneck kettle, with a 0.9-liter capacity and an adjustable temperature range of 104–212°F (40–100°C). Its smaller capacity and spout design suit controlled pouring rather than maximizing household volume. See Fellow’s Stagg EKG specifications.
Fellow lists 110–120 V power for the US and Canada and product certifications including ETL, FCC, CSA, and UL compliance. The Stagg EKG Pro adds features such as scheduling, guide mode, altitude adjustment, and an adjustable hold; these are manufacturer-described features, not independent performance findings.
Which electric kettle has temperature presets for tea or everyday use?
For a larger capacity with preset controls, the Cuisinart PerfecTemp CPK-17P1 and Hamilton Beach 41025 and 41050 are examples to compare. Manufacturers list each at 1.7 liters and describe six temperature settings or presets. Cuisinart lists the CPK-17P1 at 1,500 watts; Hamilton Beach lists the 41025 as brushed stainless steel and the 41050 as glass.

Features and availability can vary by exact SKU or product generation. Compare the precise model offered by a retailer and confirm current price, stock, and warranty terms directly before buying. The cited manufacturer specifications do not establish which kettle boils fastest, lasts longest, tastes best, or offers the best value.
How does keep-warm behavior differ?
Keep-warm is not a universal setting with a standard duration. Fellow’s current Stagg EKG Pro page describes selectable 15-, 30-, 45-, or 60-minute holds. Cuisinart describes a 30-minute hold for the CPK-17P1, and Hamilton Beach describes a 30-minute keep-warm feature for the cited models. Check the exact model’s documentation for how its hold behaves, including whether lifting the kettle resets it.

What should you know about materials and safe use?
Fellow says current EKG kettle interiors use 304 stainless steel, while some lid, base, and handle components include BPA-free polypropylene. That disclosure does not support describing the kettle as fully plastic-free. See Fellow’s EKG materials information for its component details.
For Stagg EKG, Fellow instructs users to place the base and kettle on a flat, level surface, avoid pointing the spout toward a wall or cabinet, and not remove the lid while hot. The kettle is intended for its electric base and should not be used on a stovetop. Follow the instructions for your particular kettle; Cuisinart and Hamilton Beach list automatic shutoff and boil-dry protection on the cited models, but those features are not a substitute for safe operation.
