How to choose between the four machines
Start with the way you want to operate the machine. The UK manufacturer comparison describes three models as automatic and the Piccolo XS as manual. Then consider whether you want a particular interface or extra function. Availability and specifications can differ by market, so check the local product listing before buying.

Choose Genio S Plus for added brewing controls
The Genio S Plus is the clearest match if you want automatic operation plus the specific features the UK comparison documents: Espresso Boost and temperature control. NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto Italy says Espresso Boost lets the machine prepare an espresso it describes as “ancora più corposo e intenso” — translated as “even fuller-bodied and more intense.” That is the manufacturer’s description of the function, not an independent taste comparison.

The Italian Genio S Plus product page specifies compatibility with NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto Original capsules. Confirm capsule compatibility against the exact model sold in your market.
Choose Genio S for straightforward automatic operation
The UK manufacturer describes the Genio S as compact and automatic, with drink-size adjustment. It suits someone who wants to set a drink size without paying for or choosing a machine based on the extra functions documented for the Plus and Touch. Those feature differences do not establish that one model makes better-tasting coffee.

Choose Genio S Touch if the touchscreen is the point
The Genio S Touch adds a touchscreen interface and, in the UK comparison, lists Espresso Boost, temperature control and XL functionality. It is the feature match for buyers who prefer touch controls; the available evidence does not establish that the touchscreen improves drink quality or makes the machine more reliable.

Choose Piccolo XS for compact manual control
The Piccolo XS is the manual option in the UK comparison. Its eco mode is described as switching the machine off after one minute of inactivity. Since the operation is manual, this is the pick for a buyer willing to manage dispensing rather than relying on an automatic stop. Check the instructions for the local model to understand its controls.
Check local dimensions, tank size and availability
Specifications are not necessarily uniform across regions. The Singapore machine comparator lists a 0.8 L water tank and 15-bar pressure for all four models in this guide. Those are Singapore-market figures from the manufacturer, with no year stated; they should not be treated as universal specifications or as independent performance findings.

For a small counter or limited storage, compare the dimensions on the product page for your country, rather than relying on a similarly named model from another market. The cited UK and Singapore comparisons do not establish dimensions for every regional variant. Check current local stock as well: model names, colours and availability can change.

For the Genio S and Genio S Plus, the cited Italian manufacturer pages identify NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto Original capsules as compatible. That statement does not establish compatibility with every third-party or refillable capsule, or with a separate pod system; verify the exact machine and capsule before purchasing. Capsule cost and local availability are ongoing considerations, but the available sources do not establish a comparative cost per drink.

The Italian official store lists a liquid descaling kit. Follow the maintenance schedule and descaling instructions in the manual for your exact machine; do not assume a third-party product is required or approved.
