Best De’Longhi Countertop Ovens for a Kitchen That Can Actually Support One

De’Longhi’s current US countertop oven lineup is simple: a compact 14L Livenza and a larger 24L Livenza. The right choice depends as much on your kitchen’s counter depth, outlets, and electrical capacity as it does on cooking features.

If you are looking for the best De’Longhi countertop oven for your kitchen, the short answer is this: choose the 14L De’Longhi Livenza EO141164M if you need a compact, full-featured oven for tight counters, snacks, reheating, toast, cookies, and small pizzas. Choose the 24L De’Longhi Livenza EO241264M if you have the counter depth and want a stronger supplement to a full-size oven for family meals, frequent air frying, pizza, roasting, and weeknight cooking.

That sounds simple, but there is a construction-side catch many product roundups miss. Both current US De’Longhi Livenza air-fry convection countertop ovens are 120V, 60 Hz, 1,800W appliances. At full draw, 1,800 watts divided by 120 volts equals about 15 amps. In a modern kitchen with properly planned 20-amp small-appliance circuits, that can be fine. In an older kitchen with too few receptacles, loose outlets, no GFCI protection, or a microwave and coffee maker on the same circuit, that same countertop oven can become the appliance that exposes an electrical problem.

On our kitchen remodel job sites, we treat countertop cooking appliances as part of the kitchen plan, not as an afterthought. Before a homeowner buys a high-wattage countertop oven, we want to know where it will sit, where the cord will land, what else is on that circuit, how much clearance it has under cabinets, and whether a hot tray has a safe landing zone. A $329.95 or $449.95 oven is not expensive compared with a range, but the surrounding kitchen conditions determine whether it works cleanly or becomes a nuisance.

Current De’Longhi Countertop Oven Lineup in the US

De’Longhi’s active US countertop oven selection is not a giant catalog in 2026. The main current models to compare are the Livenza 9-in-1 Digital Air Fry Convection Toaster Oven in two sizes: the 14L EO141164M and the 24L EO241264M. That narrow lineup is useful because it keeps the decision grounded. You are not choosing between a dozen nearly identical ovens. You are choosing between a compact 0.5 cubic foot class oven and a larger 0.8 cubic foot class oven.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The 14L model is listed at $329.95. The 24L model is listed at $449.95. Retail pricing can move with promotions, tax, shipping, and availability, but those manufacturer list prices are the cleanest planning numbers. Used and older De’Longhi toaster ovens may show up in the secondary market around $40 to $220 or more depending on model, age, accessories, and shipping. For a remodel plan, though, we would not design around a random used listing. We would plan around the current model dimensions, wattage, and manual requirements.

The key difference is not wattage. Both pull the same 1,800 watts. The difference is capacity, footprint, height, and how the oven fits into the way you actually cook. The larger oven gives you more flexibility, but it also asks more from the counter layout.

Best Overall: De’Longhi Livenza 24L EO241264M

The 24L De’Longhi Livenza EO241264M is the better choice for most homeowners who have the space. It is the more credible replacement for some daily full-size oven use, especially if you cook for more than one or two people. At 17.5 inches wide, 19 inches deep, and 12 inches high, it is not tiny. Its interior dimensions are listed at 13 inches wide, 13.25 inches deep, and 8 inches high. That extra room matters when you want to air fry a practical amount of food, roast a small meal, handle pizza, or avoid cooking in multiple batches.

De’Longhi positions the 24L model with air frying that uses up to 80% less oil, convection cooking that can be up to 40% faster, and preheat that can be up to 60% faster than a full-size 30-inch, 5.0 cubic foot range oven. The product also claims up to 50% less heat off the glass door. Those are useful features, especially in summer or in smaller kitchens where running the full-size oven heats up the room.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

From a builder’s point of view, the 24L model earns its keep when the kitchen has a true appliance zone. That means a counter run deep enough for the appliance body and handle, open air around the unit, a receptacle in the right location, and a safe landing area for hot pans. If the only available location is jammed under a low wall cabinet beside paper towels and plugged into an old two-slot receptacle with an adapter, the larger oven is the wrong move until the kitchen is corrected.

Who Should Buy the 24L Model

Buy the 24L EO241264M if you want a countertop oven that can reduce how often you use the main oven. It is the better pick for families, frequent air frying, roasting vegetables, reheating leftovers without softening them in a microwave, and cooking when the full-size oven is occupied. It also makes sense in a finished basement kitchenette, guest suite, or accessory cooking area where the electrical plan is modern and the counter has enough depth.

The price difference between the 14L and 24L models is about $120 before tax and discounts. In construction terms, that is a small difference if the kitchen is already ready for the appliance. It is not a small difference if making room for the larger unit requires moving receptacles, modifying cabinetry, or changing the layout. Measure first.

Best for Small Kitchens: De’Longhi Livenza 14L EO141164M

The 14L De’Longhi Livenza EO141164M is the better fit for compact kitchens. Its listed dimensions are 15.55 inches by 17.91 inches by 9.65 inches, and it accepts a round plate up to 31 centimeters, roughly 12.2 inches. It still gives you a broad cooking set: air fry, toast, pizza, cookies, bake, broil or grill, warm, reheat, and convection functions. For apartments, smaller condos, galley kitchens, and secondary kitchens, that is a strong combination.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The smaller oven is not automatically easier on the electrical system. It is still a 1,800W appliance, so the circuit conversation remains the same. What it saves is physical space. Under cabinets, around corners, and beside upper appliance garages, losing a few inches of width and height can be the difference between a clean setup and a countertop that feels crowded every morning.

The 14L model is especially practical for homeowners who mostly toast, reheat, crisp leftovers, bake small items, cook snacks, or use the oven for one or two people. It is also a smart choice when the kitchen counter depth is limited. Many older kitchens have counters, backsplash details, trim, outlets, or wall cabinets that make the usable depth smaller than the nominal counter depth. A tape measure will tell the truth faster than a product photo.

Where the 14L Model Falls Short

The tradeoff is batch size. If you are feeding a family, air frying often, or expecting the countertop oven to stand in for a full-size range oven several nights a week, the 14L can feel limiting. You may still cook well, but you may cook in rounds. That adds time and keeps the appliance running longer.

On our projects, we usually recommend the compact model when the countertop oven is one tool among many. We recommend the larger model when the homeowner is intentionally shifting cooking away from the main oven.

Will a De’Longhi Countertop Oven Trip My Breaker?

It can, depending on what else is on the circuit. The math is straightforward. Both current Livenza countertop ovens are rated at 1,800 watts. Divide 1,800 watts by 120 volts and you get 15 amps. Kitchen small-appliance circuits are commonly 20 amps, but that does not mean you can freely stack several high-draw appliances on one circuit.

A countertop oven running near full draw at about 15 amps leaves little practical room for another heavy appliance on the same circuit. Add a microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, blender, or air fryer on that same branch circuit and you may get nuisance trips. That is not the oven being defective. That is the circuit doing its job.

Appliance Combination Practical Risk What We Check
De’Longhi oven alone on a good 20A kitchen small-appliance circuit Usually reasonable Grounded receptacle, GFCI/AFCI protection, tight connections, no heat damage
Oven plus microwave on same circuit High trip risk Breaker rating, circuit mapping, microwave load, outlet grouping
Oven plus coffee maker or kettle Moderate to high trip risk Actual wattage, simultaneous use, receptacle condition
Oven on old ungrounded or loose receptacle Unsafe condition Grounding, device wear, box condition, GFCI options, wiring age
Oven plugged into extension cord or power strip Do not do this Install or relocate a proper receptacle instead

In a kitchen remodel, we map countertop appliance habits before drywall closes. Coffee station, microwave shelf, mixer zone, toaster oven location, and island prep area should not all be treated as random plug-in loads. Where practical, high-use appliances should be split across the required small-appliance circuits. That planning is inexpensive before tile and finished cabinets. It is messier after the backsplash is installed.

Outlet, GFCI, AFCI, and Code Planning

A countertop oven is usually a plug-in small appliance, so buying one does not automatically mean a formal appliance installation. The electrical system around it still matters. Modern kitchens are expected to have properly placed receptacles serving countertop spaces, 20-amp small-appliance branch circuits, and required GFCI protection. Depending on the jurisdiction and adopted code cycle, AFCI protection may also apply. Local code and inspection requirements control the final answer.

As builders, we do not guess on kitchen electrical. We verify circuit layout, receptacle placement, breaker type, grounding, and panel capacity. In older homes, we often find kitchens that were built for a coffee maker and toaster, then slowly asked to support a microwave, espresso machine, air fryer, countertop oven, phone chargers, and undercabinet lighting. The homeowner experiences this as a breaker problem. The real issue is usually load planning.

Outlet Costs to Budget

If the kitchen already has a safe, grounded, properly protected receptacle in the right location, the appliance cost may be the whole story. If not, budget for electrical work. Current 2026 cost guides put typical professional outlet installation around $138 to $320, with many homeowners near $229. Electrical permits may add about $50 to $100. A single GFCI outlet replacement or installation commonly falls around $130 to $300, depending on access and troubleshooting.

Adding a dedicated circuit costs more. Angi’s 2026 data reports an average around $700, commonly $570 to $1,100. HomeGuide reports $250 to $900, with many homeowners around $650. The spread is real because the work changes from house to house. A short basement run to an open wall is one job. Fishing cable through finished walls, crossing long distances, working around stone backsplash, and correcting panel issues is another.

For a broader kitchen electrical upgrade, costs can move from a few hundred dollars into several thousand dollars. Some contractor-level planning references put complete kitchen electrical upgrades around $3,000 to $8,000, and $8,000 to $15,000 where panel upgrades or extensive custom work are required. That does not mean a countertop oven causes a five-figure project. It means the oven may reveal that the kitchen electrical system was already behind the way the household uses the space.

Counter Space, Heat Clearance, and Cabinet Protection

Countertop ovens need air, depth, and safe surrounding materials. Heat-lock or reduced-heat door claims are helpful, but they do not erase clearance requirements. The 24L model’s claim of up to 50% less heat off the glass door, and the 14L model’s claim of up to 30% less heat off the glass door, should be treated as comfort and efficiency features. They are not permission to wedge the oven into a tight appliance garage or push it against a finished side panel.

Before purchase, use painter’s tape on the counter. Mark the appliance footprint. Then mark the door swing, handle projection, cord path, and a hot-tray landing zone in front or beside the oven. Leave the tape in place for a day if the kitchen is busy. If it blocks the coffee maker, crowds the sink, or forces hot pans over a traffic path, the oven location is wrong.

Depth is often the dimension homeowners underestimate. The 24L model is 19 inches deep before you think about cord bend, rear clearance, handle projection, and comfortable access. Standard base cabinets may be 24 inches deep, with counters around 25 inches deep, but backsplash thickness, outlet covers, rear feet, and the front handle all reduce usable comfort. The 14L model’s 17.91-inch depth is easier to place, but it still needs thoughtful breathing room.

Under-Cabinet and Appliance Garage Concerns

Be cautious with low wall cabinets. Heat and steam can discolor finishes, stress adhesives, and shorten the life of cabinet doors and light rails. Painted cabinets, thermofoil doors, laminated panels, nearby backsplash sealants, and decorative trim can all react poorly to repeated heat exposure.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

An appliance garage can work only if it is designed for the appliance from the start: correct ventilation, manufacturer clearances, cord access, serviceability, and heat-resistant surrounding materials. Closing a countertop oven inside a cabinet compartment is asking the cabinetry to behave like a listed appliance enclosure. Most cabinets are not built for that.

When to DIY and When to Hire a Pro

Buying the oven, measuring the counter, registering the appliance, reading the manual, cleaning the crumb tray, and choosing a safe everyday location are homeowner tasks. A careful DIY homeowner can also map which outlets lose power when a breaker is turned off, as long as they do it safely and label what they find.

Hire a licensed electrician when you need a new receptacle, a new circuit, GFCI or AFCI correction, panel work, troubleshooting for warm or scorched outlets, or verification of ungrounded wiring. Also hire a pro if the oven trips the breaker repeatedly and you cannot clearly identify a simple overloaded-use pattern. Breakers trip for a reason. Do not solve that by swapping breaker sizes, using adapters, or moving the appliance to an extension cord.

Hire a remodeling contractor when the appliance location affects cabinetry, backsplash tile, stone, trim, ventilation, or a dedicated appliance shelf. Add receptacles before backsplash tile goes in. Retrofitting after tile, slab, or finished cabinetry is usually more expensive and more disruptive. If we are already opening walls for a kitchen remodel, that is the right time to correct outlet spacing and circuit layout.

Realistic Total Cost Scenarios

The countertop oven itself is the easy line item. The surrounding condition of the kitchen determines the total project cost. For many homeowners, total cost is simply the oven price plus tax. For others, the smarter move is to treat the oven as part of a small electrical improvement.

Scenario Likely Scope Planning Cost
Kitchen already has a good outlet in the right location Buy oven, measure clearance, use per manual $329.95 to $449.95 before tax and discounts
Need one better-placed receptacle Professional outlet install, possible permit About $138 to $320, plus possible $50 to $100 permit
Need GFCI correction Replace or add GFCI protection, possible troubleshooting Commonly about $130 to $300
Need a new dedicated or better-distributed circuit New branch circuit, breaker, wiring, permit, inspection Often about $570 to $1,100; some guides show $250 to $900
Older kitchen needs broader electrical modernization Multiple circuits, outlet layout, protection upgrades, possible panel work Several thousand dollars; major projects can reach $8,000 to $15,000

These numbers are national planning ranges, not bids. Local labor rates, attic or basement access, wall finishes, panel capacity, permit rules, and the distance from panel to kitchen all affect the final price. A good contractor or electrician should be able to explain the path of the wire, the permit requirements, the devices being installed, and what surfaces will be disturbed.

Safety, Maintenance, and Daily Use

A countertop oven is a high-heat appliance. Treat it that way. Keep the crumb tray clean, because crumb buildup increases smoke and fire risk. Keep paper towels, curtains, mail, packaging, and plastic containers away from the oven. Do not use a cheap power strip or extension cord. Plug it into a sound receptacle that matches the manufacturer’s instructions.

Check the cord and plug periodically. If the plug feels hot, the receptacle is loose, the faceplate is discolored, or you smell heat near the outlet, stop using that location and have it checked. Loose device connections are common in older homes, and a 1,800W appliance will expose weak points faster than a phone charger ever will.

Register the appliance, keep the manual, and check manufacturer and CPSC recall pages periodically. This is basic ownership housekeeping, but it matters more with heat-producing appliances. Also keep accessories together. Used ovens often look like a bargain until missing racks, pans, trays, or manuals make them less useful.

Final Recommendation

For most kitchens with enough counter depth and a modern electrical layout, the De’Longhi Livenza 24L EO241264M is the best overall choice. It costs about $449.95, gives you more practical cooking capacity, and is better suited to families and frequent countertop cooking. Its 17.5-inch width, 19-inch depth, and 12-inch height need to be respected, especially under cabinets.

For tighter kitchens, apartments, smaller households, or homeowners who mainly want crisp reheating, toast, snacks, small pizzas, and occasional baking, the De’Longhi Livenza 14L EO141164M is the smarter buy. At about $329.95 and 15.55 inches by 17.91 inches by 9.65 inches, it is easier to place while still offering the major cooking functions people expect from a modern countertop oven.

The best De’Longhi countertop oven is not just the one with the biggest cavity. It is the one your kitchen can safely power, ventilate, and use every day without crowding the work area. Measure the counter, map the circuit, check the outlet, and plan the hot-pan landing zone before you buy. That is how a countertop upgrade stays simple instead of turning into an avoidable repair call.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which De’Longhi countertop oven is best for a small kitchen?

The 14L De’Longhi Livenza EO141164M is the better small-kitchen choice. It measures 15.55 inches by 17.91 inches by 9.65 inches, costs about $329.95, and still offers air fry, toast, bake, broil or grill, pizza, cookies, warm, reheat, and convection functions.

Is the De’Longhi 24L Livenza oven worth the higher price?

Yes, if you have the counter depth and cook larger portions. The 24L EO241264M costs about $449.95, roughly $120 more than the 14L model, and gives you a more useful oven cavity for family meals, frequent air frying, pizza, and roasting.

Does a De’Longhi countertop oven need a dedicated circuit?

Not always. Both current De’Longhi Livenza countertop ovens are 1,800W appliances, drawing about 15 amps at 120 volts. A good 20-amp kitchen small-appliance circuit may handle one, but repeated breaker trips or shared use with a microwave, kettle, or coffee maker may justify electrical work.

Can an 1,800W countertop oven trip a kitchen breaker?

Yes. At 120 volts, an 1,800W oven draws about 15 amps. If another high-draw appliance is running on the same circuit, a 20-amp breaker can trip. That usually means the circuit is overloaded, not that the oven is defective.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do I need a permit to add an outlet for a countertop oven?

Many jurisdictions require a permit for new kitchen receptacles or new circuits. Permit fees commonly add about $50 to $100, but local rules control. Hire a licensed electrician for new wiring, GFCI or AFCI upgrades, panel work, or troubleshooting.

Can I put a De’Longhi toaster oven in an appliance garage?

Only if the space is specifically designed around the oven’s manual requirements for clearance, ventilation, cord access, and serviceability. Most standard cabinet appliance garages are not appropriate for operating a high-heat countertop oven with the door closed or tight clearances.
