For a household kitchen, the De’Longhi F628 / D677UX uses a stored front hose; the VEVOR 9.51 Qt is a larger countertop model with a faucet-style drain; and the Vollrath CF4-3600 / FFA8115 is a commercial-oriented fryer that requires 208–240 V service. These are different fits, not a tested ranking. Compare oil capacity, power, controls and the way each model handles oil before choosing.
How to choose a deep fryer with a drain
Start with where and how often you will fry. A drain mechanism may help with oil transfer, but it does not make a fryer suitable for every kitchen or establish that oil can be drained safely at any temperature. Check the exact model’s manual and electrical requirements before purchase.
- Intended use and capacity: Match the fryer’s oil capacity and batch size to your cooking. Do not treat total water capacity, oil capacity and a weight-based capacity as interchangeable measures.
- Electrical fit: Check wattage, voltage and plug against the outlet and circuit where the appliance will be used. Commercial-style models may need a dedicated or otherwise compatible electrical setup.
- Controls and performance: Compare temperature range, thermostat or dial controls, timer, and any published heat-recovery information. The available product descriptions do not establish comparative real-world performance.
- Handling and cleanup: Look at basket configuration, whether the oil container or other parts are removable, and how the appliance is cleaned and stored.
- Kitchen conditions: Consider footprint, splatter management and odor control, as well as the drain itself.
Models with different oil-draining designs
The specifications below come from manufacturer product descriptions except for the Cuisinart entry, which is described by a comparison article. Confirm the exact model variant and current listing before buying.
| Model | Oil handling and capacity | Power and controls | Best fit and caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| VEVOR 9.51 Qt countertop oil-drain fryer | Faucet-style oil drain; manufacturer lists up to 6.8 L / 7.18 Qt oil capacity and 9.51 Qt total water capacity. | 1750 W; temperature control from 140–392°F; timer. Listed features include overheat shutoff, microswitch, reset button, splatter lid and cool-touch handle. | A direct drain-feature match for buyers considering a larger countertop, commercial-styled unit. Confirm the exact variant, electrical requirements and current availability on the VEVOR product listing. |
| Vollrath CF4-3600 / FFA8115 | Manufacturer describes a 15 lb medium-duty countertop fryer with drainage valves. This weight-based description is not directly comparable with the VEVOR’s volume-based oil capacity. | 2700–3600 W; 208–240 V; thermostat to 375°F; automatic shutoff at 500°F; NEMA 6-15P plug. | Commercial-oriented option, with electrical requirements that may not suit an ordinary household outlet. See the Vollrath product page for model details and the listed drain-valve kit. |
| De’Longhi F628 / D677UX | A front hose stored in the fryer drains oil into a suitable collecting container. | Thermostat range of 300–370°F; nonstick interior, non-slip feet and stay-cool exterior walls are described by the manufacturer. | A home-scale hose-drain design. The De’Longhi US page showed a “Notify me” state when accessed, so current availability is not established here. |
| Cuisinart CDF-200P1 | A comparison article describes a removable oil pot with a pour spout and 4-quart capacity; this is a pour-out design, not the same as a built-in drain valve. | Adjustable dial; other electrical specifications are not stated in the cited comparison. | Consider it only if a removable pot suits your oil-handling needs. The details come from the secondary comparison, not a manufacturer specification in the cited evidence: Real Buyer Experiences’ comparison. |
What the drain designs mean in practice
Front hose
A stored hose routes oil from the fryer toward a collecting container. Check how the hose is accessed and secured, what container the manual recommends, and whether the relevant parts can be cleaned or stored as intended.

Faucet-style valve
A valve lets oil leave through a tap at the appliance. Before choosing this design, consider where a collection container can sit and whether the unit’s placement leaves room to operate the valve as its manual directs.
Removable pot with pour spout
A removable oil pot can be lifted out and poured from, but that is a different handling method from draining through a built-in valve or hose. Account for the pot’s weight and the steps needed to remove and clean it.

Safety, electrical fit and oil disposal
Feature lists are not independent proof of real-world safety. Do not assume a drain makes hot oil safe to transfer or that there is one safe draining temperature for every fryer. Follow the exact model manual for shutdown, cooling, draining and cleaning instructions, and use official local guidance for disposing of used cooking oil. The cited product descriptions do not establish a universal disposal method.
Pay particular attention to commercial-style electrical specifications. The Vollrath model’s stated 208–240 V supply and NEMA 6-15P plug are material requirements, not minor details. Confirm the appliance can be connected safely in your location before buying; do not assume it will work with a standard household outlet. The VEVOR listing states 1750 W, but check the current listing and product documentation for the exact variant and electrical configuration.

How to make a shortlist
- Set your scale: Decide how much food you typically fry and use the manufacturer’s oil-capacity and batch information for the exact model.
- Eliminate electrical mismatches: Compare the product’s voltage, wattage and plug with the available kitchen supply.
- Choose the oil-transfer method: Decide whether you prefer a hose, a valve or a removable pot, and check the manual’s collection and cleaning instructions.
- Compare the rest of the appliance: Review temperature controls, baskets, footprint, splatter and odor management, and cleaning requirements rather than making the drain the only deciding feature.
- Verify before ordering: Check current stock, exact model number and included parts on the manufacturer’s page, especially where a page has shown a notification-only availability state.
A July 20, 2026 comparison from Real Buyer Experiences says its recommendations synthesize independent testing and owner reports, while noting it did not run an in-house frying lab. Its stated comparison criteria include oil capacity, heating and recovery, temperature control, basket and batch size, cleanup and oil handling, and splatter and odor management. Treat that as secondary comparison coverage, not as a hands-on test of the models listed here.
