Those two products serve very different purposes. A gas generator can provide power as long as you have fuel, but it produces deadly carbon monoxide and must remain outdoors. A solar generator is actually a rechargeable battery power station: it runs quietly and without exhaust, but its stored watt-hours limit how long it can power equipment. For construction sites, storm preparation, RV use, and home backup, choosing between them—and sizing the unit correctly—is more important than the percentage discount.

1. Anker SOLIX F2000: the highest-capacity battery option
The Anker SOLIX F2000 was the strongest all-around battery backup in the original list. Its 2,048Wh LiFePO4 battery and 2,400W AC output give it substantially more capacity and inverter headroom than the smaller stations here. Anker’s published specifications also list 12 total ports, up to 1,000W of solar input, a 3,000-cycle battery rating, and a five-year warranty.
That combination makes the F2000 a plausible fit for selected home essentials, RV equipment, electronics, and professional tools. It can also accept considerably more solar input than the EcoFlow RIVER 2 Max. However, it is not the lightweight choice for a casual camping trip. A station with this much capacity is physically less convenient to carry, and a solar panel does not make it an unlimited power source: the battery still runs down when the connected load exceeds the energy being harvested.

Confirm whether the current listing includes the 400W panel; the official specifications for the F2000 do not by themselves verify the historical bundle or its $1,499 price.
2. PowerSmart 1200W: the budget gasoline generator
The PowerSmart 1200W portable generator was the cheapest and most heavily discounted product in the original roundup. Current manufacturer information for the PS50/DB5010 identifies it as a 1,000W-running, 1,200W-peak gasoline generator with a 71cc two-stroke engine, 1.1-gallon fuel tank, 120V AC and 12V DC outputs, electric and push-button starting, a stated runtime of up to five hours at 50% load, a 39-pound weight, and a two-year warranty.

- Ultra-Lightweight: At only 7.5 lbs, the Explorer 300 delivers a robust 292Wh capacity while remaining 17% lighter than the industry average. The sleek, integrated handle makes it effortless to carry on long hikes or pack with your camping gear, providing reliable off-grid power without adding bulk to your load.
- Versatile Power for 6 Devices: Equipped with 2 AC outlets, a 100W USB-C PD port, 2 USB-A ports, and a 120W car port. With a 300W rated output (600W peak surge), it easily handles laptops, drones, and cameras, while also serving as a dependable cpap battery for camping or a robust solar powered generator when paired with panels.
- Built to Last: Upgraded with premium LiFePO4 chemistry, this portable generator delivers over 4,000 charge cycles before reaching 70% capacity. This ensures more than 11 years of reliable service life, making it a sustainable and durable energy partner for a decade of exploration.
- Fast Solar Charging: Perfect for off-grid use, this solar powered generator pairs seamlessly with Jackery panels. Reach 80% capacity in approximately 2.8 hours with a 100W solar panel, or maintain your gear with a portable 40W panel (80% in 7.5 hours), making it an essential part of your hunting essentials.
- WHAT YOU GET: 1* Jackery Explorer 300 Portable Power Station, 1*AC adapter, 1* car charger cable, 1* user guide (𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝.)
Use the running wattage—1,000W—not the 1,200W peak figure when deciding what it can power continuously. The peak rating is relevant only to brief startup demands from some motors and compressors. A refrigerator, pump, saw, or other motor-driven tool may require a higher surge than its normal operating wattage.
This is a basic-load generator rather than a whole-house solution. It may suit lights, chargers, a small appliance, or limited jobsite use, provided the combined running and startup demands stay within its ratings. The manufacturer page located for this research displayed $159.99, but that is a later/current-page price rather than proof that the December 2024 Cyber Monday price remains available.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsCritical carbon-monoxide warning: Never operate a gasoline generator inside a home, garage, basement, crawlspace, shed, tent, or other enclosed or partly enclosed space—even if doors or windows are open. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says to place a portable generator at least 20 feet from the home, direct exhaust away from the home and other buildings, and use working carbon-monoxide alarms on every level and outside sleeping areas. Carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless, poisonous, and can incapacitate or kill quickly. “Quiet,” “inverter,” or CO-shutoff marketing does not make indoor operation safe.
3. Fremo X300: the lightest electronics-focused pick
The Fremo X300 was listed at $180, down from a stated $330 reference price. Its 276Wh capacity, nine output ports, and approximately eight-pound weight make it the most portable option in this group. It charges through USB-C and a wall adapter and is aimed at daily charging and outdoor activities.
That makes the X300 appropriate for phones, tablets, cameras, laptops, small lights, and similar electronics. It is not a substitute for a high-capacity outage battery or a fuel generator. A 276Wh station can be useful for keeping communications equipment working, but high-wattage appliances will consume its stored energy quickly. The available official information does not establish a current U.S. retail price or confirm that the original $180 offer is still available, so check the seller and configuration carefully before purchase.

4. Jackery Explorer 1000 v2: the middle-ground battery station
The Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 occupied the practical middle of the roundup. The historical offer was $399 against a stated $799 reference price. The current official specifications identify a 1,070Wh LiFePO4 battery, 1,500W output, dual 100W USB-C ports, one-hour emergency super charging, a 4,000-cycle battery rating, and a five-year warranty.
Recommended Free Tools
Compared with the Fremo X300, it offers enough additional storage for more demanding emergency loads and small appliances. Compared with the Anker F2000, it has less capacity and lower output, but is the more manageable choice for buyers who do not need the largest station in this roundup. It remains subject to the 1,500W output ceiling and the actual energy consumption of each device.
The manufacturer page located in the research showed a $499 basic configuration. That demonstrates why the historical $399 Cyber Monday price should not be presented as current and why you should check whether a present-day listing includes a panel, extra battery, or other accessories. For product-specific comparison, search for the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 rather than assuming every Explorer 1000 listing is the same generation or configuration.
5. EcoFlow RIVER 2 Max: compact, but do not confuse X-Boost with continuous output
The EcoFlow RIVER 2 Max was listed at $479, down from a stated $699 reference price, and the deal included a 160W solar panel. EcoFlow documentation identifies model EFR610 as a 512Wh station weighing approximately 13.4 pounds, with up to 220W of solar input.
The most important specification distinction is its output rating. The RIVER 2 Max has a 500W rated AC output; EcoFlow describes 1,000W as its X-Boost output. X-Boost is not the same as a conventional 1,000W continuous-output inverter. Do not size it as though it were a standard 1,000W generator, particularly for heating appliances, power tools, compressors, or other demanding loads.

The historical bundle’s panel was described as having an IP68 rating, but verify the exact panel and bundle in the live listing.
Gas generator or solar generator?
Retail listings commonly call battery power stations “solar generators,” but they do not generate power continuously from sunlight on their own. They store energy in a battery and can recharge from solar panels, wall power, or—in some models—other inputs. Once the stored energy is used, continued operation depends on recharge speed, available sunlight, and the connected load.
| Choose a gasoline generator when… | Choose a battery power station when… |
|---|---|
| You need sustained operation as long as fuel is available. | You need quiet operation without exhaust during use. |
| You need to run loads beyond the output of a compact battery station. | You mainly need phones, computers, lights, networking equipment, or modest appliances. |
| You can place the unit outdoors, at least 20 feet from the home, with exhaust directed away. | You want a unit that can be used indoors only as permitted by its manufacturer and in dry, safe electrical conditions. |
| You accept fuel storage, engine noise, maintenance, and manual refueling. | You accept finite battery runtime, recharge planning, and potentially higher upfront cost. |
A battery station is not automatically a replacement for a high-output gas generator. Conversely, a gas generator is not a convenient indoor backup: the exhaust hazard is fundamental, regardless of the model’s marketing claims.
How to size a generator or power station
- List the equipment that must run. Separate necessities—such as a refrigerator, medical equipment, communications gear, lights, or a sump pump—from occasional loads.
- Add the running watts. This is the continuous power requirement. Use the appliance label, manual, or manufacturer specification rather than guessing.
- Account for startup surge. Motors and compressors can briefly demand more than their running wattage. A gas generator’s peak rating and a battery station’s inverter rating must accommodate that demand.
- For battery stations, calculate energy as well as power. Watts describe the instantaneous load; watt-hours describe stored energy. A 500W appliance running for one hour requires roughly 500Wh before conversion losses, so a 512Wh station will not necessarily provide a full hour at that load.
- Leave headroom. Avoid selecting a unit that operates continuously at its limit. Headroom helps with startup demand, additional small loads, and real-world variation.
For a construction site, also account for whether the equipment is a motor, compressor, saw, heater, charger, or lighting system. A station that comfortably charges cordless-tool batteries may not run a large saw or compressor. Check both the tool’s operating wattage and its startup requirement.

Safe setup checklist for a gasoline generator
- Operate it outdoors only—never in a living space, garage, basement, crawlspace, shed, tent, or other enclosed area.
- Position it at least 20 feet from the home and point the exhaust away from doors, windows, vents, and other buildings.
- Install and test working carbon-monoxide alarms on every level and outside sleeping areas. A battery-operated carbon monoxide alarm can be a sensible addition where fixed alarms are unavailable, but no alarm replaces correct generator placement.
- Keep the generator dry and follow the manual’s requirements for weather protection, grounding, fueling, oil, and maintenance.
- Turn the unit off and let it cool before refueling. Store fuel only in approved containers and according to local fire-safety rules.
- Use a suitable outdoor-rated generator extension cord when the equipment and manufacturer instructions call for one. Inspect cords for damage and use the correct gauge for the load.
- Never backfeed a building through a wall outlet. A generator connection to household circuits requires a code-compliant transfer solution installed by a qualified professional.

As a practical warning, the original deal prices are already contradicted by later official-page snapshots for some products: PowerSmart displayed $159.99 for the PS50/DB5010, while Jackery displayed $499 for the Explorer 1000 v2 basic configuration. Those figures are useful evidence that the old Cyber Monday prices expired, not a guarantee of what any retailer charges now. Do not describe a manufacturer price as an Amazon price, and do not assume a product is in stock at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Home Depot, or another retailer without checking that retailer directly.
Which historical deal was best?
- Best for maximum battery capacity: Anker SOLIX F2000, especially when high inverter output and longer stored energy matter more than portability.
- Best budget fuel option: PowerSmart 1200W, for basic loads where outdoor operation and fuel handling are practical.
- Best lightweight electronics option: Fremo X300, for charging and lighting rather than appliances.
- Best middle ground: Jackery Explorer 1000 v2, with substantially more capacity than compact stations and a lower ceiling than the F2000.
- Best compact solar-rechargeable compromise: EcoFlow RIVER 2 Max, provided you plan around its 500W rated output and 512Wh capacity rather than treating X-Boost as ordinary continuous power.
The deepest discount is not automatically the best value. Match the generator to the equipment, runtime, location, noise tolerance, fuel access, and safety requirements first; then verify whether a current offer is genuinely competitive.

Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →What is the difference between a gas generator and a solar generator?
A gas generator burns fuel and can run as long as fuel is available, but it produces carbon monoxide and must be used outdoors. A solar generator is generally a rechargeable battery power station that can accept solar input; it is quiet and produces no exhaust during use, but its stored watt-hours limit runtime.
Can I run a portable gas generator in a garage with the door open?
Never. The CPSC says portable generators must be used outdoors at least 20 feet from the home, with exhaust directed away from the home and other buildings. Open doors and windows do not make indoor operation safe.
Which battery power station is best for emergency backup?
The Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 is the middle-capacity option at 1,070Wh and 1,500W output. The Anker SOLIX F2000 is the higher-capacity choice at 2,048Wh and 2,400W output, while the Fremo X300 is much smaller at 276Wh and is intended mainly for electronics.
The Bottom Line
The 62%-off PowerSmart listing and the other prices in this roundup are historical December 2024 Cyber Monday offers. For current buying, choose the PowerSmart for basic outdoor fuel-powered loads, the Anker SOLIX F2000 for the largest battery capacity, the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 for a middle ground, the EcoFlow RIVER 2 Max for modest loads, or the Fremo X300 for lightweight electronics.
