Parker & Bailey Furniture Cream is a direct fit for routine cleaning and polishing; Mohawk OZ Polish and NCL Cream Coat are other cream-format options. None has been established as a tested overall winner, and polish can improve appearance without repairing scratches, water rings, worn finish, or lost color.
What a cream wood polish can—and cannot—do
“Cream” describes a product format, not a uniform formula or a guarantee of compatibility with every wood finish. Products sold as cream polishes may be intended to clean, polish, preserve, or combine several of those jobs. Check the product’s stated surfaces and directions rather than choosing by format alone.
Routine polishing is also different from conditioning or restoring a finish. A polish may remove surface dirt and improve the appearance of furniture, but it should not be assumed to repair scratches, rings, worn topcoat, or color loss. Howard sells Feed-N-Wax as a polish-conditioner and describes Restor-A-Finish separately as a product for restoring the appearance of an existing finish; those distinct uses are a useful reminder to match the product to the problem.
Cream wood polishes to consider
| Product | Form and stated use | Evidence and limits |
|---|---|---|
| Parker & Bailey Furniture Cream Cleaner and Polish, 16 oz | Concentrated cream listed for removing dirt, dust, and fingerprints from wood surfaces and rejuvenating furniture. | Woodcraft’s retailer description; not a result from comparative testing. Woodcraft product listing. |
| Mohawk OZ Polish | Furniture cream polish described by Mohawk as an all-in-one product that cleans, polishes, and protects. The catalog lists multiple package formats. | These are manufacturer-stated uses, not independently verified performance findings. Mohawk product page. |
| NCL Cream Coat | Concentrated cream cleaner described by NCL as deep-cleaning, polishing, and preserving wood surfaces in one application. | Manufacturer description; no head-to-head performance data is established. NCL product page. |
These descriptions make Parker & Bailey the most direct match among the listed products for someone seeking a cream cleaner-polish for routine wood furniture care. That is a fit-to-purpose observation, not a claim that it performs better than the others.

Choose by the furniture’s condition and your goal
For dusty or fingerprint-marked furniture
Choose a product whose label explicitly describes cleaning wood surfaces, and follow its own application directions. Parker & Bailey’s retailer listing names dirt, dust, and fingerprints; Mohawk and NCL describe combined cleaning and polishing uses. Confirm the label is appropriate for your particular surface before applying.
For dry-looking wood
Howard Feed-N-Wax is an alternative when the goal is conditioning rather than choosing a cream polish. Howard describes it as a wood polish and conditioner that leaves a beeswax and carnauba wax coating. The manufacturer specifically says not to use it on food-preparation surfaces. Howard Feed-N-Wax product directions.
Rank #2
- Polishes all wood surfaces to a soft luster with a protective coating of Carnauba Wax and Beeswax
- Introduces conditioning oils that “feed” the wood and helps keep it from drying and fading
- Enhances the natural beauty and depth of grain in finished and unfinished wood
- For use on antiques, dining tables, kitchen cabinets, wood doors and trim, etc.
- Helps to prevent further drying of the wood and deterioration of the finish. Contains no silicone or linseed oils
For scratches, rings, or color changes
A routine cream polish is not established as a repair treatment for finish damage. Howard positions Restor-A-Finish as a separate product for restoring the appearance of an existing finish. Its directions call for matching the color, testing an inconspicuous area, and wiping away excess. Howard Restor-A-Finish directions.
How to apply polish without risking the whole surface
- Read the specific product label. Directions and suitable surfaces vary; do not transfer one product’s method to another.
- Test an inconspicuous spot. Howard explicitly recommends testing Feed-N-Wax before treating the whole surface. A small test is a prudent check for any polish, but it does not replace the product’s own instructions.
- Use only on an eligible surface. Keep Feed-N-Wax off food-preparation surfaces, as Howard’s directions require.
- Follow the product’s application and removal instructions. Avoid leaving residue or using a method not specified on the label.
For Feed-N-Wax specifically, Howard directs users to remove dust and dirt, saturate a small soft cloth, wipe the product evenly over the wood, leave it for at least 20 minutes, wipe off excess, and buff with a clean soft cloth. These are Feed-N-Wax directions—not universal directions for cream polishes. Howard’s complete instructions.

What the available product information does not establish
The cited descriptions and listing identify intended uses, but do not provide independent comparative testing, comprehensive ingredient comparisons, or evidence that one product works on every finish. They also do not establish which option lasts longest, gives the best shine, offers the best value, or restores damage most effectively. Choose according to the labeled job and surface, and treat manufacturer or retailer descriptions as product claims rather than comparative proof.
