Published specifications give operators a useful shortlist, but they are not results from a common performance test, so confirm the exact configuration and service requirements with a local supplier before buying.
How to choose a commercial citrus juicer
Start with the service pattern rather than the machine catalogue. Estimate how many citrus drinks you expect during your busiest period, how many fruit varieties those drinks require, and how often staff can replenish the feeder. Then check whether the machine fits the counter and electrical supply where it will actually operate.
- Peak demand: Estimate drinks per minute or hour at the busiest point, not just total daily sales. Allow for other tasks staff perform while juicing.
- Fruit range and size: Measure or check the diameter range of the oranges, lemons, limes, or other fruit you buy. A model may need a specific kit for a particular fruit or diameter.
- Feeder and replenishment: Compare how much fruit the hopper holds with the time staff can devote to refilling it. A larger feeder can reduce interruptions, but does not establish actual sustained output.
- Installation space: Check the machine’s width, depth, and height, plus clearance for loading fruit, pouring juice, and removing waste. Plan where peels and other waste will collect.
- Electrical compatibility: Confirm voltage and frequency for the exact machine configuration and the venue’s location. Do not assume variants listed for another market will work locally.
- Ownership workflow: Ask the supplier about cleaning and disassembly, warranty coverage, replacement parts, service access, and local repair support. These details are not established by the specifications below.
Published specifications for four commercial options
The figures below come from manufacturer product information or a catalog, not independent comparative testing. Throughput units and contexts differ, so they should not be treated as a direct ranking.
| Model | Published figures | Fruit and fit notes |
|---|---|---|
| Zumex Essential Pro | 22 fruits per minute; feeder holds four to five fruits. Listed variants include 300 W or 320 W, with 220–240 V, 50–60 Hz or 115 V, 60 Hz options. Manufacturer specifications. | Manufacturer lists oranges, mandarins, lemons, and limes with different kits. Confirm the necessary kit and regional electrical version. |
| Zumex Versatile Pro | 22 fruits per minute; one 250 ml serving in 10 seconds; feeder capacity 16 kg / 35 lb. Manufacturer specifications. | Positioned by the manufacturer for large cafés, restaurants, and hotel chains. Accepts oranges, mandarins, limes, and lemons with kit-dependent diameters. |
| Zummo Z14 | 16 fruits per minute; 65 kg; 478 × 821 × 474 mm; 150 glasses/day shown. The product page lists two voltage/frequency variants and diameter ranges of 55–75 mm and 70–90 mm. Manufacturer specifications. | Manufacturer recommends it for high consumption and lists oranges, lemons, limes, tangerines, pomegranates, and grapefruit. Confirm the exact kit and electrical configuration. |
| Santos Classic 11 | Catalog lists 30 l/h, 130 W for listed 220–240 V variants, dimensions of 300 × 230 × 350 mm, and weight of 5 kg. Certification marks vary by listed variant. Catalog information. | A smaller, manual-feed-style commercial citrus juicer described for food-service venues. Check the exact electrical model and certifications applicable to your location. |
How the listed machines differ in practice
Feeder capacity and replenishment
The Essential Pro’s four-to-five-fruit feeder and the Versatile Pro’s 16 kg capacity describe substantially different loading arrangements. Consider whether staff can keep the smaller feeder supplied during a rush, or whether a larger hopper better suits the intended workflow. Feeder size alone does not show how much juice the machine will produce continuously in your operation.

Fruit versatility and diameter
Fruit compatibility is configuration-sensitive. The Essential Pro and Versatile Pro use different kits for listed citrus varieties; the Z14 page lists a broader set of fruit, including pomegranates and grapefruit, along with two diameter ranges. Match the machine and kit to the fruit you actually source, and ask the seller to confirm compatibility before ordering.
Footprint and power
The Z14’s listed dimensions make it possible to check its stated physical footprint, but operators should also allow for working clearance and waste handling. The Santos catalog gives a more compact set of dimensions, while the Zumex Essential Pro has multiple listed power and voltage variants. For every model, verify the exact unit being supplied against the counter plan and venue’s electrical system.
Rank #2
- High-Efficiency Commercial Juicing: This heavy-duty electric juicer is designed for fast, continuous operation, handling high volumes of oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruits. It extracts juice significantly faster than manual methods, supporting the workflow of busy juice bars, restaurants, and cafes

- Optimized Extraction with 3 Interchangeable Reamers: Comes with three cone reamers (approx. 2.5, 3.5, 4.5) to better match different fruit sizes. The ribbed design is engineered to efficiently separate juice from pulp, aiming to yield a smooth, pulp-controlled result
- Quiet 1400 RPM Motor & Splash-Contained Design: Features a 1400 RPM commercial motor that operates at a lower noise level. The integrated splash guard and pulp filter help keep the work area clean by containing juice spray and filtering out pulp and seeds during operation
- Easy to Use and Clean: Simple one-button operation with non-skid feet for stability. The removable pulp guard, reamers, and drip tray are dishwasher safe, allowing for quick and thorough cleanup after use
Throughput figures are not a head-to-head test
The specifications use different measures: fruits per minute, a timed serving, or liters per hour. The Z14 page also shows a daily glass figure. These values come from different manufacturer contexts and do not establish comparable real-world output, juice yield, or performance across a full service. Use them to shortlist candidates, then ask suppliers what the figures mean for the configuration and fruit you plan to use.
Questions to settle with the supplier
- Which exact model, kit, voltage, and frequency will be delivered for this venue?
- What fruit varieties and diameter range does that configuration support?
- What are the manufacturer’s cleaning and disassembly instructions, and how often does each component need attention?
- Which parts are wear items, how are replacements ordered, and what local service coverage is available?
- What warranty applies in the venue’s country, and what certifications apply to the exact electrical variant?
- Can the supplier explain the conditions behind the published throughput figure and advise whether it fits the expected peak workflow?
Choosing among the options
For an operator prioritizing a larger listed feeder, the Versatile Pro’s 16 kg capacity is a relevant specification; for a smaller batch-feeder setup, the Essential Pro is listed with a four-to-five-fruit hopper. The Z14 offers published diameter ranges and a broader stated fruit list, while the Santos Classic 11 is a smaller manual-feed-style option with catalog dimensions and hourly output. None of these facts establishes a universal best choice: the suitable machine depends on the venue’s fruit, service volume, installation, and support arrangements.
