Both centrifugal and slow (masticating) juicers can process apples. The best apple juicer for your kitchen depends less on a universal ranking than on how you weigh speed, apple preparation, juice texture, cleaning, noise and storage. A wider-looking chute does not always mean an apple can be fed whole: the opening’s shape and safety design matter too.
How to choose a juicer for apples
Start with your routine rather than a headline feature. A centrifugal juicer generally prioritizes faster extraction and a lower purchase-cost tier; a slow juicer generally takes longer and tends to cost more. These are category tendencies, not guarantees for every model. Compare the specific machine’s feed opening, preparation instructions, pulp and texture options, cleanup, sound, footprint and included attachments.
- Speed and cost: Consider how often you will juice and how much time you want to spend making and cleaning up a batch.
- Apple preparation: Check whether the manufacturer permits whole apples, requires pieces, or expects you to use the pusher. Chute diameter alone does not establish whole-fruit fit.
- Texture and pulp: Your result depends partly on the apple variety. Philips notes that juicier apples produce thinner juice; the guidance applies to its HR1933/34 model.
- Ease of ownership: Look at how the unit comes apart and goes back together, how much counter or cupboard space it needs, its noise and stability, and which strainers or other attachments are included. Tom’s Guide lists noise, stability, size, ease of use and cleanup among its assessment criteria.
There is no consistent apple-only head-to-head test in the sources cited here that establishes one of these models as the best overall. Use the examples below to compare feed designs, then confirm the current instructions and specifications for any model you are considering.
What the feed opening means for apple prep
Two juicers with similar nominal chute measurements can handle fruit differently. A safety fin, gate or narrower secondary chute can change how an apple must be fed. The manufacturers’ guides describe these distinctions for several Kuvings models:

| Model | Feed design stated by manufacturer | What it means for apples |
|---|---|---|
| Kuvings EVO820 | 3.2-inch flip-gate feed chute | The guide says apples can be dropped through the gate. |
| Kuvings REVO830 | 3.5-inch flip-gate chute, plus a narrower auto-cut chute designed for carrots and celery | Check the guide’s feeding instructions for the apple route; the narrower chute is intended for other produce. |
| Kuvings B6000/C7000 | 3-inch chute with a safety fin | The guide says the included pusher is needed to guide an apple through. |
These are manufacturer-stated features, not a comparative test of how quickly or conveniently each model handles a particular apple. Review the Kuvings slow juicer buying guide and the manual for the exact model before relying on a whole-apple claim.
Examples of slow juicers with apple-related features
Kuvings EVO820 and REVO830
The EVO820’s 3.2-inch flip gate and the REVO830’s 3.5-inch flip-gate chute illustrate why opening design matters alongside width. The REVO830 also has a narrower auto-cut chute intended for carrots and celery. Check the manufacturer’s directions to see which opening to use and whether fruit preparation is required for your apples.

Kuvings B6000/C7000
Although the manufacturer lists a 3-inch chute, its safety fin means the included pusher is needed to guide an apple through. That is a practical difference from treating chute size as a promise that whole fruit will simply drop in.
Sana 868
Sana describes the 868’s wide-mouth trap-door design as able to accept large pieces, including whole apples. That is a manufacturer claim rather than independent comparative test evidence. Sana lists a 50 rpm speed and four screens; check the product information to confirm which included options suit the way you plan to juice.

What to expect from apple juice
Apple variety affects the juice’s thickness. Philips states: “The thickness of apple juice depends on the kind of apple you use. The juicier the apple, the thinner the juice.” Philips gives that advice for its HR1933/34 juicer, so treat it as useful guidance on apple variation rather than a claim that every juicer will produce identical results.

The available sources establish that both centrifugal and slow juicers can process apples, but they do not establish that one type preserves more nutrients in a clinically meaningful way. Choose based on preparation and ownership tradeoffs, not an unsupported health claim. For Philips’ model-specific advice, see “What can I juice with my Philips juicer?”

- Read the manual’s apple-feeding directions; do not infer whole-fruit capacity from chute diameter.
- Check whether the feed path includes a gate, safety fin or separate narrow chute, and whether the included pusher is required.
- Decide whether faster operation or the typical slow-juicer tradeoff better suits your routine; verify the exact model’s performance and price rather than assuming category tendencies guarantee them.
- Consider the cleanup sequence, disassembly and reassembly, sound, stability and storage footprint.
- Confirm which strainers, screens and other attachments come with the model and whether they match your preferred juice texture.
- Check the current manufacturer specifications and availability before buying.
