Exact 2-liter pressure cookers are available in both electric and stovetop formats, but they suit small batches—not every household’s everyday cooking. Before choosing one, check whether the stated capacity is total or usable, whether the cooker works with your power supply or cooktop, and what its manual says about fill limits. The models below are manufacturer-documented examples, not independently tested or universally available recommendations.
Is a 2-liter pressure cooker the right size?
A 2-liter cooker is a genuinely compact choice. Tefal’s general capacity guidance recommends 3–4.5 liters for one to four people, so 2 liters is smaller than that range. This is a comparison point, not a universal serving rule: the amount you can cook depends on the recipe, required liquid, fill restrictions and appetite.
Pay attention to what the capacity figure means. Tupperware’s Micro Pressure Cooker manual states 3 liters total capacity and 2 liters usable capacity. That is not the same as a cooker with 2 liters total capacity. Check the manufacturer’s specification and the pot’s markings rather than assuming a label describes the volume available for food.
For the Tupperware model, the manual says not to exceed the 2-liter MAX line and calls for filling no more than halfway when cooking foods that foam or expand. Those limits apply to that cooker; follow the exact instructions and markings for any model you buy. Tupperware Micro Pressure Cooker manual

How to choose between electric and stovetop
Choose electric if you want an appliance with built-in programs
An electric model has its own heating and controls, so its voltage and frequency must match your local supply. For example, TOYOMI lists 220–240 V and 50/60 Hz for the PC 2001. Do not assume that an electric cooker sold in one region will work safely or as intended in another; check the nameplate and manufacturer instructions.

Choose stovetop if your cooker and heat source are compatible
A stovetop cooker does not have an electrical rating, but it must be suitable for your cooktop. Anantha lists induction compatibility for its 2-liter Ace. Check the specific model’s instructions for your stove type and operating requirements; a general claim about one model does not establish compatibility for other cookers.
When a slightly larger compact cooker may make sense
If you can accept more capacity, the Instant Pot Duo Mini is a 3-quart electric multicooker, not an exact 2-liter model. Instant Pot lists 700 W, 120 V/60 Hz, seven cooking functions and more than ten safety mechanisms. It is a comparison option only if that capacity and electrical rating suit your needs and local market. Instant Pot Duo Mini product page

What to check before buying or using one
- Capacity: Establish whether the stated liters refer to total or usable capacity, then check the pot’s MAX line.
- Format and compatibility: For electric models, verify voltage and frequency. For stovetop models, confirm compatibility with your cooktop.
- Instructions and protections: Read the exact model’s manual for liquid requirements, filling, lid locking, pressure release and cleaning. Do not rank safety by counting manufacturer-listed features; the systems and instructions are model-specific.
- Support and availability: Confirm local stock, warranty terms, certification scope and access to service or parts before purchase. The maker pages do not establish availability in every country.
Tefal’s guidance is model-dependent. For the models covered by its instructions, it calls for at least 250 ml of liquid and describes lid-locking and excess-pressure protections; that minimum is not a rule for every pressure cooker. Tefal states, “The pressure cooker has several systems that guarantee perfect safety in operation.” Treat that as a statement about its own guidance, not a blanket guarantee. The manual for the cooker you use takes precedence. Tefal capacity and official product guidance
